STUDIO 86 MEDIA PUBLICATION w w w . g o s p e l s a i n t s . c o m

It's a wrap, i mean the year is rolling out in less than two weeks. Sigh! Personally, This year has handed me so much to hold on to. The work that took me away from the circle of entrepreneurs, colleagues that always want to push the best out of me resigned and so on.

CONTRIBUTORS

I would break the coconut with my forearm if I have to, this December Issue has a twist to the norm. Considering the theme, 'Jokes Apart, These are perilous Times'. A look at the 100 pages with a few of the previous adverts to retain because of their commitment to see this publication running. Indeed, it was tough to close the curtain on the production of the year. Our Cover guy was one busy buddy, though his busyness does not construe negletion or non-challancy in gracing the cover of Gospel Saints. After the interview, one or more sensitive topic that trended on social media was attended to, this gave the team a relief. Knowing our followers would love to read Woli-Agba's opinion to the buzzing headlines such as Tithing, Same sex marriage and Heretic messages rocking the internet. Phew! Our interview tunnel this time sure brings a light after the dark tunnel. Lawrence DeCovenant was a gentle and approachable man who treated us with brotherly love. We appreciate such kind gesture from your end, despite our correspondents being pushy so we can meet up with deadlines, you absorb our naivety and ensure replies and photos meet up the requirements. Odunayo Boderin also addresses the issue of this endtime virus. Also, we had Simi Essay rolled out pictures from his soon-to-be-released video. and our Wiki-Spot this time around scoop out the life of Late Archbishop Benson Idahosa and the famous London preacher Late Smith Wigglesworth. These great men of GOD indeed has been a force to reckon with in Pentecostalism. Our Scripture cloud this time around, is an excerpt from a soon-to-bereleased book (Family Values) by Seun Ogundolapo. Foremost nutritionist also addressed eating disorders we don't even know about and she also gave out what we need to consider when preparing meals and what choice of food one needs to make to enable adequate nutrition. In this Issue, you will ď€ nd articles that vibrantly address the issue of end-time virus as predicted by the bible. Here we are, i hope this set the gear for you to read through at no cost. all you have to do is to follow our blog for breaking News in Christendom and persecutions of Christians all over the world. This magazine as opposed to the previous one can be purchased at a token of N100, only if you wish to download and have it stored on your Laptop or Mobile Device.

AYO AJEWOLE (WOLI AGBA) Considering the happenings around the world. It’s outrageous how Naive Christians are being swept off their feets with all kinds of doctrine. Gospel Saints Team nally agreed after so much deliberation on who should grace the cover of our December issue. We chose Woli Agba to better express the message in which we are trying to get across to people to cure them from endtime virus.

e know you as Woli Agba, comedian and all, in your own words, how would you describe yourself? I am a Gospel Entertainer, What i do is called Evangecomedy, i use comedy to preach Christ and also for Evangelism. What I do mostly is called Evangecomedy. While doing that, you started what you called instagram parish ministry (IPM) on instagram. You see a lot of hashtag IPM, that is cool. I would like to know why the name IPM? Basically started in a bid to keep my page busy, i want to do videos. I just have this idea, how do we do this. I started acting quite a long time ago, with my Brother, Alfa Sule in 2002. Because of what we do is like a church settings, people started liking my videos. We bring out things that happen in church. We brought this out so people

can easily relate and appreciate what we do. Because of the 1 minute Instagram video post, we decided to call it Instagram Parish Ministry/Members. The reason why we call it parish is because we don't want to be limited by Instagram, we can take it to twitter, call it facebook parish and also Youtube but of course everything started from Instagram, that is the headquarter. Amazing, i can say people relate with and appreciate your works. Despite that you are a gospel comedian, you still have over 200 thousand followers on social media, that is incredible. How do you feel having such huge followers on social media? I feel good, grateful to GOD and everyone that comes around, knowing that the work I am doing is well appreciated. Despite that it is Gospel, it is accepted. I feel I am going to get fullled. I have been given a platform, a brand to promote the Gospel. i just feel good and great. Generally, you are a social media person. If you look at the way things are going on Social media, you would agree with me that a lot of people are kind of laid back when it comes to Gospel, GOD and Godly activities generally. What would you do as a Gospel Comedian to make sure that attention is being drawn to the Gospel of Christ through what you are doing? Precepts upon precepts, we preach the word of GOD. The world is going to another realm entirely, what is trending online is comedy, I have accepted Jesus as my Lord and Personal Saviour. We have quite a lot of our people hanging out there doing a great job, some have made it happen, we may

6 | GOSPEL SAINTS | AFRICA DECEMBER 2017

bring them back home. that is why we set up a comedy brand. We understand it is been accepted. Everybody knows where we come from is Judah, it is a Christian Thing, by the time we get to that level, when you see someone, you show love. You show them this is the way, truth and life. Because of the love and charity, they will gladly like and accept what you preach to them which is the Gospel of Christ. I dont want to expatiate too much on that because it is a deep one. We are in the Era of planting love in their hearts of men. When you say you are a fan of someone, you will want to emulate his or her character or way of life. We comedians must make sure that outside comedy our lives reects Jesus Christ, because they will see us outside and want to emulate what we do and right there we can tell them what we stand for. They have this question in their hearts, if this is what you believe in and you have come this far, they would say to themselves i better follow what you preach, do and believe in. That is what we are trying to work out.

Actually there are other comedians who are into Gospel Jokes just like you, is there any way you think these jokes make Christians and the Gospel seem unserious. When a comedian jokes about hell re, do you think it will make people see Gospel as unreal or do you think people take some jokes about Gospel seriously and get the message straight. To be candid, I have not really witnessed a situation whereby comedians will say what they are not supposed to say on the Altar. Likewise, I am not in the heart of people I don’t know if that will affect them or not. The only thing i know is when we are on stage, we

COVER STORY Abigail Ocheibi

are on stage. Behind the stage what can be said of us. If your viewers notice or see you are not practicing what is Christ-like, then they will conclude; no wonder he is making a mess of the Gospel while on stage. we can see what he stands for, no wonder he calls himself a Gospel comedian, simply because he wants to make us laugh. But if a Comedian comes on stage and they could see all that he has ministered on stage and behind the stage reected in him, they will say he is a Pastor, they might take it for a Joke but they will know this person stands for Christ, they will say if you see him off-stage, (Jesu Ma ma wun e sin). I have not seen so many comedians that make mockery of the Gospel. Whether or not you would agree with me, you are a preacher of the Gospel by virtue of what you do. These are perilous time, I will like to hear your opinion on Homosexualism. You know in Christendom, there are some Churches that have legalized Homosexualism. What do you think of this? Well, Ugh... All these things are signs of the end-time, the bible has said it all, It will surely come to pass, there is nothing we can do about it, You cannot ght it. Are we ghting what GOD said, that 'Men shall be lovers of themselves' what is written in the bible, are we trying to correct it what the Lord has said that it shouldn't come to pass? This is the time Christians should gear up, knowing that the world can end any moment from now. Things that are not in existence before are now existing. These are the signs Jesus said will happen on the last days. So, it has been predicted, It is not what we should worry about. We just need to take our stand, this world is coming to an end, Jesus has said it. Nations will rise against Nations, these are signs of end-time, you cannot help it. 'Adura o ran' stopping them is not the solution. It has been said and written so they must come to pass. There's a Yoruba adage that says 'Ogun a wi tele kin pa aro to be gbon' All these things are sign that the world will come to an end so that we should not perish.

Say for example, all that Jesus said did not happen and the world ends, we would be like Jesus you said we will see these signs at the end time. This is the time when everyone should be ready, this is endtime, we can not cast it away, adura o ran... hence, it has been said and it must happen, that is my opinion on that. Another Situation bothering Christians is the Issue of rape and abortion, an analogy is a case where a girl is raped and a Christian advises his or her neighbour, to abort the pregnancy. Do you think in this delicate situation, the girl should have an abortion? In the case of rape, i think she should go to Hospital to clean up, I do not really know what they do there. This is a huge one on me. The person should take precautions immediately after the victim is raped. She shouldn't wait for it to turn to pregnancy. laughs... What do you think about it? I don’t want to share my view about it. it's about you, so I would like to hear from you. Laughs... It won't happen to anyone in Jesus Name (Amen) You made a statement when you were talking about Homosexuality and end-time, you said, nations will rise against one another. Now, globally we hear of issues regarding terrorism, wars, parents killing their children, mothers against their children and vice-versa. As Christians is there anything we can do to alleviate these situations to help the world or should we just fold our hands and watch everything unfold since the bible says all these things which were written will come to pass. Well, talking about all these issues. We need to adopt

prayer, if prayer does not change everything for you, it does change most things. One way or the other, they are all signs of the endtime. It is necessary they happen. Prayer is essential, we must not cross our hand and feel unconcerned. We still need to pray to GOD. At times, some things happen and GOD want us to pray. he want us to call on him. 2 Chronicle 7 vs 14. We need to offer prayers to GOD. Prayer is Key What inspires you to bring up skits? Most of my skits are called 'Imisi" it just comes. Imisi will start explaining stuffs to me, it has a way of talking to me, on what to do with the next video. This morning when i was praying, I had in mind to do a skit, a video. But Imisi told me to change direction, to do it another way. in a dynamic way. This is beyond the knowledge of man, that is why people can not really think of what is going to happen next. It comes from above, from The Holy Spirit, I don't have an evil spirit, it comes from above. At times, when I am joking with someone, maybe with friends and we turn it to a skit, and at times if someone says something funny, I can turn it into skits. the larger aspect of it comes from The Holy Spirit. Do you always comes up with your jokes or you get someone to assist you in ideas? As at now, people have attempted to give me jokes but they have never been useful, but I have never been exhausted. It just comes, at times I will be scared hoping this is not the end of it. To be honest, I have never used anyone's concept. You have been working with Dele for sometimes

9 | GOSPEL SAINTS | AFRICA DECEMBER 2017

now, people enjoy watching you crack jokes. I would like to know how you met him and what is your experience like working with him? Dele and I have been together for a while now, as far back as working under Alfa Sule. We started together, he decided to join my team and showed interest in what I do. Of course he was then our drummer but I have been doing my thing all alone but when he came along, we blended together. By divine grace I can work with anybody, no matter who you are. the grace there is for me to treat you well. I started using him and you know it is a church, a lot of things can happen. He came in and he was cool, we have been together for a long time. he drums for Alfa Sule. He knows what I want and he respects the blueprint of the IPM. I owe him so much. Have you heard of the Gospel Singer called Nathaniel Bassey, actually he granted Mediaroomhub interview and they asked him whenever he is free what does he do? he said whenever he is free and he wants to laugh, he visits your page on Instagram. that's amazing, What do you have to say about that? I’m grateful to GOD, a lot of people said to me that he is not a man that really likes comedy but to be honest it is an encouragement. I was surprised when i heard and read it. I feel like somebody understands that i have never left out evangelism using drama. I am not carried away by the things of the world. I feel good. Actually, he is not the only celebrity following my skits, I saw Funke Akindele, Bigbolaji and all.. Yes yes... Even Pastor Biodun of Coza. It is an encouragement, I wont lie to you. Now given the audience you have created for yourself and the stuffs you are in. The

place you are in now as a Gospel Comedian, would you consider to be on same stage with Ay basketmouth and others in the sec ular eld, would you consider it an opportunity to work with them on same Stage considering where you are coming from? I don’t know, I have been able to meet Alibaba. The day i wished him Happy Birthday and when i met him and i realized he has been following my comedy and he has been a member of our Parish. As far as I am concerned, if I am invited to perform on any stage, I will do what i have been known for and do a concept. I have a megacrusade I carry around. there is no place I can't do what i do as long as i am real about what I do. You are famous, no doubt about it. i know it is not easy to cope with being famous, people can spot you in the crowd no matter how hard you try to hide. How do you manage fame? Look at President Obama, no matter how famous he is, he can still be seen at the shopping mall and ordinary places. That is a good one, I have not seen myself in a line that I have to start hiding. I am human, some people don’t know how to handle fame. Fame can bring pride, if you are known, you should know it's GOD's grace, there are people who are hardworking than you, they read books day and night yet they are not known. It is just something divine that you can't explain. It is not a thing anyone should be boastful about. The way I manage fame is this, I don't think too far from my beginning, I always remind myself of how i started everytime. That made me to manage the phase I’m passing now, it was not as if I was born this way and started my life like this, I will never allow pleasure to override my beginning and the owner of the comfort. Why should I shun people, it is not proper. Learn to manage fame well, that is it. Talking about your humble beginnings. Where you come from, at what point in your life did you decide that comedy is my thing? Sorry, I will like to correct an impression. I won't call myself a comedian. I can not be called a

comedian, I only exhibit characters, actions that are funny. A comic-actor would be better. That is who I am, I am not really a comedian really. you can decide that you want to be a comedian, but there is never a point in my life that i think i want to be a comedian. I have just been acting, right from the day i was with Alfa Sule. At times, they want me to be serious whenever we are acting, even with the seriousness, people still look at my face and laugh. Some will say; see the way he is talking, the way he is laughing, someone will even say maybe because of the way he is dancing. I am just a Comic-Actor. At what stage did you start recording your scripts? I started this year, i joined Instagram November/December Last year (2016). Wow, so between the space of one year, you were able to pull these fan base? Yes.. That's amazing. So, having been in this for almost a decade, were you able to go to school? Yes, by the grace of GOD, i have my primary, secondary and i am a graduate of Economics of Lead City University. How do your fans react when they see you? Anyway, Woli Agba has fans too. A lot of them will just pick a scene of my Comic-act and say it to me and I will respond to it like singing, 'Gbe wole lo, gbe wole lo, ma wa je ninu ile ooo, gbe wo le lo' they will just jump into laughter until I leave the scene. Some will say, I just can't help it but laugh just looking at you. It has always been good. I can't say it all, i’m happy to know what they feel about Woli Agba, I

appreciate all my fans. Just like I said earlier, fame comes with good, bad and ugly. Some of the celebrities on Social media reply to negative comments and all. How do you manage similar issues and negative vibes coming from people? I try to caution myself, I’m not perfect. On one or two occasions I see people sending stuffs to DM, I just take note of most of the things they said. But I just move on, but I take my time to explain and get their number and call to explain the direction of their views as per what I do. I make sure I am able to check myself well rst before I bring myself out to the world. So my fans would know and say our daddy does not do anything bad and all. Fans would say why would you want to talk to our daddy anyhow or trash our daddy. By the time i say that, other members would rise to the defense. Do you get to read your comments and DM(S)? Comments yes, Dm(s) I have missed quite a lot and the reason is, at times we are busy with programs, there are a lot of Dm(s), at times i have to rest and do other things. But at times, I check Dm(s) and reply quickly and also for comments, I can't read up to ve thousand comments. What is your favorite skit? The one I would say for now, is the one i did with Dara. When Dara had to come, people get the Episodes and tell me they never missed any of our episodes, its just like Jenifa's diary. People follow through. Let me take you back to what you said earlier, you said you read comments,

12 | GOSPEL SAINTS | AFRICA DECEMBER 2017

would you say your comedy is impacting your audience and also preaching the gospel of Christ? We leave majority of the work for The Holy Spirit to do. If GOD could use an animal to talk to Balaam, GOD can use anything to speak to anybody. It is not as if my comedy is making all these work. I would say, based on the fact that we know Woli Agba shows that he is a good fellow. I have heard a member of our parish say, her sick mother was on bed and saw her daughter laughing, She asked let me see what is making you laugh, and she started laughing immediately she watched my videos. Somebody's mother who was at the point of death, saw my videos and started laughing on the sick bed. One way or the other, we have been able to change most of the secular songs to make meaning to what we do. There is this music video we did, Daddy Yo, a lady from England called me and said when she watched the video, she called her husband Daddy Yo and he started laughing, that was the end of their ght, that's why she loves what we do. I told them all the things my team and I are doing is not by our power but that of Jesus Christ. They will say, if it is not you then who is it. I always tell them it is JESUS. Just make yourself available. This makes me feel condent to say Jesus is Good, Jesus is Lord.

You talked about spending time with your wife, do you have kids? Not yet, they are coming by the grace of GOD. You have created a very huge fanbase both home and abroad, i watched some videos trending about people trying to show their love by making videos from your skits, what do you have to say to this? I am only doing what I know how to do best, but I appreciate that GOD placed something great in my hands. How would I measure my work-rate, but by seeing people's lives being impacted, my prayer is that the Lord will keep and bless them. I appreciate them so much for supporting what we do. In all we do in life, we should ensure that we do good and we should know that this world will denitely come to an end, we should do good at all times. I am overwhelmed by all these. thank you

Who would you consider you role model? I don't really have one, I respect elders that I have met in this eld, regard them. I can't attribute what i do now to any pastor or celebrity but I have seen great pastors and I appreciate GOD's power in their lives. For God to have brought them this far, We all should know GOD can use us and take us farther. Even if we are not of the world, we should be able to convince the world of who we are in Christ Jesus. I don’t have a role model in particular, Jesus is my role model.

Before we close the curtain on this interview, I will like to know, what do you do with your leisure time when you are not performing or shooting a video? I spend my free time with my wife and also colleagues in the Gospel Entertainment and also engage in other things that drive my concept. I just love to rest, browse my phone at times and watch T.V

SMOKED ACES

Hell is right in our eyes, we can see them evidently and by the fun of the gear-start of Sin, we seem to prefer the pleasure of few moments over burning in eternal hell. Likewise, such as drug abuse, prostitution and all, indecent dressing and perpetual seduction is the facade that has broken homes and evidently caused many strong willed men to lose their authority in power. I can clearly say this by referring to the case of Samson and Delilah. Yet a little exposure, and a small show-off of cleavages can be the road path to hell even right here on Earth. It all begins with a statement men’s eyes could capture from the indecent appearance in ladies. How can you appear available to men, cheap and outwardly naming price for quick sex. I know you doubt if this piece has any spiritual spine. Trust, this is the crumbs from the bible and it will serve it right. 1 Timothy 2:9King James Version (KJV) (9) In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; Now that you know that this piece is not owing from a myopic ground. Indecent dressing is the foundation of Sexual immoralities and could lead opposite sex into unlawful sexual desires, even if they never attempt rape physically, indeed they have committed the act in their minds and it will be accounted onto them and yourself on judgment day Smoked aces means experts in a corruptible eld that is burning on Earth before he or she gets to heaven, Do not be deceived. Jesus will judge all esh.

DEVELOPING A HEALTHY EATING LIFESTYLE Deborah Ogundolapo

t’s no longer a secret in the medical world that most antibiotics are no longer effective at treating some health issues, this is because more resistant bacteria and fungi strains are evolving. This is the reason why sometimes you have to be given another antibiotic in the hospital when certain symptoms persist after the initial treatment. Many more diseases are also evolving (e.g. Autoimmune disorder) and it’s very difcult to pinpoint their causes. That is why a popular quote on health, says, “the doctor of the future will no longer treat the human frame with drugs, but rather will cure and prevent disease with nutrition”. If therefore the future of healing and health lies in nutrition, it is therefore very wise to start developing a healthy eating lifestyle that will sustain our human frame. The

human frame was formed from nature, we can only sustain it by what nature supplies. A healthy eating lifestyle has to be developed over time; and this involves taking a conscious effort to imbibe certain critical habits into one’s style of living. Watch out for the raw, unprocessed content of your meal; always plan for 50% minimum inclusion. Raw and unprocessed foods are called biogenic foods, meaning they are still living. They contain the enzymes, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that are necessary for the human frame functioning and processing; their lack makes the body system to start degenerating fast resulting in various sicknesses and diseases. Cooked and processed foods have been stripped of their nutritional values. Unprocessed food like cabbage, carrot, cucumber, banana, orange, bell pepper, broccoli, apple, lettuce, watermelon, parsley, scent leaves,

22 | GOSPEL SAINTS | AFRICA DECEMBER 2017

Eat less of processed carbohydrates like rice, French fries, white our, confectioners etc; and do

more of unprocessed carbohydrates like yam, sweet potatoes, plantain etc; wholegrain like millet, wheat, corn, guineacorn etc.; and legumes. Make sure they only make up 30% of your meal. Carbohydrates are needed mainly for energy. Too much of it gives the pancreatic gland so much work to do with insulin production, which can result in different types of diabetes. Always read labels on your food packaging. Avoid food packaging with too many chemicals/unnatural contents (more than 2 chemicals are a no-no for consumption). Some chemicals are highly carcinogenic e.g. Arsenic, avor enhancers, potassium bromate, gelatin

sanitary towels, body and hair products, drinks and foods etc. Minimize the inclusion of acid-forming food in your meals. These are foods that have a lot of acidic content as their end products or as a major part of their ingredients. They live your system corrosive examples include soda drinks, alcohol, sweets, packaged foods, noodles, preservatives, red meat etc. These cause fatigue and weakening of the cells. Carcinogenic cells grow in acidic medium. Do a lot of alkaline-forming food (fruits, vegetables, berries, herbs) and lean meat that will neutralize these acids and bring your system to the balanced PH the body system requires.

Understand the principle of food combination. There are certain foods that have to be eaten alone, while others have specics of combining them. Each category of food has specic digestive enzymes that become activated at different periods in the stomach. For example, eating beans and

plantain together is not a healthy combination: digestion of plantain starts immediately from the mouth and this will overshadow the activation of the enzyme to digest the beans, the beans will remain there in the stomach and start getting rotten/fermenting without proper digestion. This is the reason why you bloat and release smelly gas. Observing food combination principle will help prevent a lot of digestive track discomfort like atulence/bloating; constipation, chest burns, intestinal ulcer, gastrointestinal disorder etc. For instance, all melon should be eating alone; do not add milk to cereal or oat; don’t eat two sources of carbohydrates

In the eld of arts, acting seems to be the most complete part of the any creative studies. We will like to know how you were able to deliver your character in most of the IPM skits, also tell us things we need to know about you. My name is Olamide Oladimeji popularly addressed as Dele Omo Woli Agba. Born and bred in Ibadan but hails from Ogun state. I had my Education in Ibadan. I’m a member of Christ Chosen Vessels Dance, Drama Ministry (Alfa Sule Group) of which I function as a drummer and an actor. I also rep IPM. IPM!... Progress! Acting have always been a part of me. I really want to appreciate my Boss, Femi Ajewole (Alfa Sule). He was the rst to believe in me and this made him approve of my becoming a member of the Ministry and also without him God knows if Woli Agba and I would have anything together. All these were as a result of his singular act. Although acting is more like a trait to me yet I got to build this skill when I joined the Alfa Sule group. When Woli Agba started the IPM, He deemed it right to bring me along, This might be probably because of our level of closeness and understanding and this decision, he hasn’t regretted. Although tasking and demanding, but it’s been a smooth ride all the way. Being able to deliver is all about God’s grace and I can’t thank Him enough for that. How did you meet Ayo Ajewole (Woli Agba) We are both members of Christ Chosen Vessels Dance, Drama Ministry (Alfa Sule Group). I met him at the Ministry and gradually, we became close and understood each other very well. I’m sure it’s no news that he is the brother of Femi Ajewole (Alfa Sule). What do you do on your free time aside from working with Woli Agba (Ayo Ajewole) Well, my free time is spent with my family and friends and of course my dreams. I’m a drummer and I take my time to

rehearse and that’s always on my leisure.

Tell us about your experience acting live on stage?

Is there any time you consider leaving IPM to venture into something else?

It’s been fun all the way. I joined the Alfa Sule Group to serve God through acting so it has been a memorable experience for me. Aside the fact that I’m the lead drummer of the Ministry, I also act pretty well. Before the IPM initiative I have featured in most of the Production of the Ministry. Before “Dele” I was being called “Bros come” which was drawn from one of our movies titled “Pride” Acting live in stage is quite different from being on set. You have no second chance to redo an act so You have to become that role you are playing at that moment. Most times acting on stage give room for a wider range of creativity; therefore, you have to be prepared for what’s coming – this is what you get when you are on stage with Woli Agba.

There is a need to understand that IPM is not just a platform to entertain, but to reach out to lives, restore hope and to pass meaningful messages. With the help of God and by His grace we receive words of encouragement and testimonies on a daily basis. All to the glory of God. We are not relenting. Being part of this is just a privilege. Considering the topic of this edition, 'jokes apart , these are perilous times' what do you think the Christendom can do to seek an exemption to endtime virus spreading all over the world. Not just Christians, the world need Christ. The Bible clearly teaches that society will degenerate in the end time, becoming as evil as it was in the days of Noah (Matthew 24:3739). This is obviously a warning that the end is near and we can only pull through by living for Christ (John 14: 6). Now is the time to set our priorities right and make sure God is rst in all we do, stand on His Word, Believe Him, intensify our intimacy with God – have faith (II Cor 5:7), be prayerful, Trust the Holy Spirit (John 14:26) and be Heavenly conscious. Do you consider the internet a blessing or a menace do humanity? Everything (most especially technology) has its pros and cons, internet is no exception. However, the ability to stretch out to the world with no hassle via the internet has been a huge blessing to everyone. We all have friends and family out of our reach, but thanks to the Internet. We also make use of the internet to promote our products and services, hence, cutting costs of advertisement to a signicant level. Without internet, there wouldn’t have been IPM, as Instagram is a social media platform fuelled by the Internet.

Sexual immorality is not miles away from the youths, in your opinion, how can we reduce it to the barest minimum? It is explicitly spelt out as sin in the Bible and besides our culture, even disapproves of it as we all hear different names given to people caught in such act. However, sex is created by God, but enjoyed in marriage. If we (the youth) want to enjoy this privilege, then let’s get married otherwise FLEE from it (I Cor 6:18). Here is the strategy: Filling ourselves with God’s word (Col 3:16), acknowledge the fact that it could happen to you (I Cor. 10:12) – You are not God! Then guard yourself. Don’t go close so you don’t get tempted. Lastly, should you fall into sexual sin, expose yourself (confess). Don’t stay in the dark so you don’t repeatedly get into such mess. God forgives us to free us from sin (Romans 6:1-2). Confess your sins to God, but don’t stop there, confess your sins to one another (James 5:16). Let’s help each other grow and become what God need us to be. Are you single or married? I’m married with a son Heretic messages no doubt is becoming a little more acceptable among the youths, do you share the same view with these see of

young believers? Only one message is to be accepted, which is the message of the cross (I Cor 1: 18), for the cross is at the heart of that gospel which is "the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth" (Romans 1:16; Romans 8:3) What plans do you have for yourself. Most importantly, your God given gift? Ultimately, my God-given gifts are for his glory and exactly what I have been doing. I won’t stop If you have a travel wish, which country would it be? Nigeria is my root, I love my Country and my history is tied to his great nation. Well, I would love to visit China if I have a travel wish. I have always loved their culture and would love to learn a little about their culture and explore their world. I also have this soft spot for their chopsticks. lol Do you believe in sports bet or any other kind of lottery ? No, I don’t. Considering the fact that gambling shouldn’t be seen amongst Christians. Give us your own idea of what Grace should be and what do you understand about Paul's message in the book of Ephesians 2 vs 8 – 9 Salvation is not as a function of human effort but of God's through Grace and Man by faith. Grace which is His unmerited and undeserved favor that we receive after repentance and having faith in the redeeming sacrice of Christ through which we have remission of our sins. When we ask for forgiveness, we are instantly forgiven, but without faith we live in doubt, hence the devil's prey on that to condemn us. Until you repent and confess of our sins (I John 1:19) and believe by faith that our sins are forgiven, only then we receive the grace of God, hence no one can boast of the grace. (Rom. 3: 28). Self righteousness doesn't guarantee our salvation,

he Drumsvoice of Jesus is a gospel ministry based in Ibadan, Oyo-State. The ministry was founded by Peter Olalekan Adedokun in 2011. The ministry praise and worship God in dance & songs with use of African drums, percussions and other African Musical instruments. One of the aims of the ministry is to correct the wrong beliefs of many people who attributes some African drums and instruments to gods that are lifeless; people should know that the Almighty God created heaven and earth, including the trees and animals which are used to make the drums shells and drum' skins respectively. Another aim of this ministry is to use this medium of our ministration to preach gospel of Jesus Christ in churches and other Christian gatherings and to bring souls to God's Kingdom to the glory of God.

The aim is to teach and train the inmates the arts of drumming and drums making which will make them have a job to do after their release from the institution. Apart from this, with savings from the ministry and the assistance from The Abundant Life Gospel Church, Ibadan and her resident Pastor, the ministry was able to donate different foodstuffs, drinks and toiletries to the Juvenile Correctional institution and a child care unit of the institution which caters for abandoned children. Faith Is an Act By Rev. Kenneth E. Hagin

ome years ago, a friend of mine told me about a woman evangelist who preached in the early days of the Pentecostal Movement. In one of her meetings, she ministered to four people in wheelchairs. To all four she said in a quiet voice, “Arise and walk in Jesus’ Name!” And they all got up and walked—except the fourth one. “I can’t walk,” she said. “The others couldn’t walk, either,” the evangelist pointed out, “but they did.” The woman replied, “I know they did, but I can’t walk. I haven’t walked in years. I can’t walk.” And the evangelist had to walk away and leave her sitting there, still in unbelief. Results Are Forthcoming You see, when those rst three people began to act upon what was told them, results were forthcoming. When you act upon what God’s Word says, or act upon what the Holy Spirit may speak to your heart, results are forthcoming. That is faith! A woman in one of the churches I pastored had arthritis and was in a wheelchair. The doctor had told her some years before that her body eventually would become rigid and she wouldn’t be able to move. She would become conned to a wheelchair, her body xed in a sitting position. And it did come to pass; her body was stiff as a board. She and her husband never missed a service. Now, I could pray for this woman and she would receive instant healing for such minor ailments as the u or a cold. But it bothered me that she never once asked for prayer for healing from the arthritis.

There were people in that church who had been healed of very serious ailments, and I knew it was God’s will to heal her too. Some might argue, “Well, it may not be God’s will,” but I know it is God’s will to heal people! (That doesn’t mean that Christians who don’t get healed aren’t going to heaven. It just means they are robbed of a blessing while on this earth.) One afternoon a small group of us from the church went to this crippled, woman’s house to pray with her determined to see her delivered from that wheelchair. As we prayed, I saw exactly what God wanted me to do. I said to everyone, “Get back away from her.” We were in a large room. I went across the room from her and said, “Everybody watch, but I don’t want anyone to touch her. Stay away from her.” Then I pointed a nger at her and said, “Now, my Sister, arise and walk in the Name of Jesus Christ!” My wife and I and the members of that prayer group are witnesses to the fact that the power of God

lifted her up out of that chair. She sat suspended in mid-air above the wheelchair! She could move her arms and immediately she reached down with those little, crippled hands for the wheelchair. The moment she did, she fell back down into the chair. As she did, without thinking—I know it was the Spirit of God in me—I pointed to her and said, “Sister, you don’t have an ounce of faith, do you? You don’t believe you’ll ever be healed of this arthritis, do you?” She blurted out, “No, Brother Hagin, I don’t. I’ll die and go to my grave with it.” And she did. It’s Up To You To Obey You cannot receive from God beyond actual faith. Do you know what would have happened if she had cooperated with God’s healing power? She would have been healed. Every joint in her body would have been loosened. She would have begun to walk! Too many people think that God’s power—healing power,

Holy Spirit power—is going to move with them and make them do something whether they want to do it or not. No! That wouldn’t be the Holy Spirit; that would be an evil spirit. Evil spirit force, drive, and compel you to do things. But the Holy Spirit urges, prompts, or gives a gentle push. They it is up to you to respond. It is up to you to obey. While I was conducting a meeting in Texas, a woman in that town wrote a friend in another city, telling her how many were receiving the baptism in the Holy Spirit in the services. She invited her friend down for the weekend services. The friend drove down and was in two of our services before coming forward to receive the Holy Spirit. I lay my hands on her head, prayed and the Holy Spirit came upon her. The utterance came. But I couldn’t get her to respond or receive. In the next service, which was Sunday morning, she came

I knew exactly what was wrong, but I knew it would take time to instruct her, and it was getting late. I turned the service over to the pastor. Then I slipped through the side door and was walking across the parking lot toward the parsonage when I saw her sitting in her car. She looked so disappointed as she sat there a moment before turning the ignition key to begin her journey home. I asked the Lord to let me help her. Instantly the Spirit of God showed me how to quickly help her. I walked over to her car, opened my Bible to Acts 2:4, and as I handed it to her through the window, I asked her to read it aloud. She read, “And they were all lled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” “Sister,” I asked, “who does the Scripture say did the speaking with tongues?” She replied, “It says the Holy Ghost did.” I asked her to read it again. She read it again. I asked her the same question. She gave the same reply. So I repeated the question. Finally, on the fourth time around, she caught on that something must be wrong, so she began to read slowly, “And – they – were – all – lled – with – the – Holy – Ghost – and – began – to – speak…” Looking astonished, she said, “Why, THEY did!” She took my Bible out of its case and examined it. She said she thought perhaps I had a different Bible from her, but it was the same—a Scoeld reference edition. “You know,” she said, “I always thought the Holy Spirit did the speaking.”

out of the mouth of two or three witnesses shall a thing be established.”

lower part of his body. He couldn’t walk; he just scooted along.

We read Acts 10:44-46: While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision, which believed, were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard THEM speak with tongues and magnify God….

In one of the services, the Holy Spirit told me to have everyone who had something wrong with them from their hips down to come into the healing line. This man was the rst in line.

“Oh,” she exclaimed, “I see it!” “That’s two witnesses,” I said. “Let’s get there.” So we read Acts 19:6, And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and THEY spake with tongues, and prophesied. The woman said, “You know, Brother Hagin, if I had been called to testify in a court and the lawyer had asked me who did the speaking in tongues, I would have said the Holy Spirit did, and I would have thought I was telling the truth.” I said, “I want to ask you something. When I laid my hands on you, did you sense the Holy Spirit? Did the power of God comes upon you?” “Absolutely,” she answered. “Did your tongue want to say something that wasn’t English?” “Why,” she said, “it was all I could do to keep it from it.” “You’re not supposed to keep it from it,” I told her. “You’re supposed to cooperate. When the Holy Spirit gives you utterance, you must have faith to act.” Immediately she began to speak in a most beautiful tongue. Faith Is Acting On God’s Word It’s time to quit hanging around and to start acting on the Word of God, because faith is acting.

I waited until they were all in line before I told them what else God had said for me to tell them to do. I went up to this man and asked, “Can you run?” It took him by surprise. “Oh, my God, no,” he said. “I can’t even walk, much less run.” I said, “That’s what the Lord has told me to do—to tell you to run.” The man didn’t even give it a second thought. He turned and started scooting up the aisle as fast as he could. The third time he came around, the Spirit of the Lord came upon me and I jumped off that platform, grabbed the man by the hand, and ran around that building with him. When we got back to the front, he was walking normally; not scooting. He was perfectly healed. However, if I hadn’t been able to get him to cooperate and act on his faith, I couldn’t have helped him. Faith, you see, is acting on God’s Word—doing whatever He says to do in His Word, or whatever He may say to us in the Spirit. It’s one thing to believe. It’s another to believe and act on that belief! Copyright © Kenneth Hagin Ministries – Used by Permission

again for prayer. Once again the Holy Spirit came upon her and gave her utterance, but again, she did not yield and receive.

I told her I had known that. Then I was in one church where there was a man who had I said, “Let’s read several other Scriptures. God’s Word ways that been severely burned over the

GOSPEL SAINTS 2017 CAMPAIGN FOR VIOLENT AGAINST WOMEN AND GIRL CHILD

LESSON FROM

A CHILD by Lekan Adeola

t was a bright Wednesday morning, but I didn't look bright. I started by negotiation with my alarm clock for more sleeping time, but it wasn't long before I realized I was extremely late for work. So I entered a 'rush mode'. Rushed prayer - typically a word of prayer. Rushed bath. Rushed dressing. The bus stop was packed with impatient people, and like me, they were likely late for something. Few 'keke marwa' trotted by. Although they were apparently inadequate, considering the crowd at the bus stop. The only option was to rush for a seat in the pocketsize vehicle.

Rushing to catch buses were cupcake for me, so it wasn't long before I picked a space right beside a straightfaced young lady who carried a twoyear old girl on her laps. The moment I sat down, I noticed the look on the child's face and I immediately knew something was wrong. Wincing and wriggling, she began to mumble, "My leg, my leg". Turned out her right leg had extended to the empty space before I got in, I had pinned down her leg without noticing. Yes, I quickly adjusted. My eyes expressed pity for the child as I said "sorry" and waved to her. Surprisingly, she started smiling at me. Oh, really? I smiled back and we became friends. I wish I could say the same for the lady holding her. She gave me a killer stare. A stare so cold I had to immediately switch my gaze to ď€ nd solace in the smile of the child. Throughout the trip I was thinking. What if it was the lady I had directly offended? What if I had mistakenly

stepped on her? She would probably have slapped me and loathed me for the rest of the trip, or probably the rest of the day. However, in the case of the child, she forgave me immediately and even smiled at me.

What Happened When Adam and Eve Ate The Apple?

Written by: Pete Miller Source: Sharedfaith.com

dam Disobeys God When He Agrees to Eve the Forbidden Fruit Quickest way to build a beautiful church website. God's original will was a perfect paradise. Oh, there was some work to do, primarily taking care of the garden, but life was simple and walking and talking with God was normal. There was only one condition: “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” (Genesis 2:16, 17) After what may have been months or even years, Eve listened to the lies of the

serpent and nally gave in. “So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.” (Genesis 3:6) She was deceived and went by her senses. She saw with her eyes, and what she saw looked pleasant and desirable, so she took of the fruit and ate. The books of 1 Timothy 2:14 and 2 Corinthians 11:3 agree that Eve was deceived. But Adam wasn't. He just at broke the rules and sinned. The Genesis account clearly states that he was there. “She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.” He was with her, and he was responsible for her. Romans 5:12 credits Adam for the sin, not Eve. “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered

53 | GOSPEL SAINTS | AFRICA DECEMBER 2017

the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned.” The Bible says fruit, it never says there was an apple, but it really doesn't matter. The original sin was disobedience to God's command. Whatever someone wants to propose as the act that has come to be called the original sin, however logical, is still speculation. It could have been any other condition allowing Adam and Eve the option to either obey or disobey God. They both disobeyed God, and it was by their own choice. God gave mankind freedom of will, the right to choose, and, for the most part, mankind has made wrong choices. But God can't be

blamed for that. There have always been plenty of warnings. “In the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” That's a warning. God is still warning. “Do not love the world or the things in the world. For all that is in the world -- the lust of the esh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life -- is not of the Father but is of the world.” (1 John 2:15, 16) Human nature hasn't changed. People are still enticed by things they see, things that are pleasant to the eyes, and desirable. But, as Shakespeare wrote, “All that glitters is not gold.” It's always best to obey God's Word.

knelt down in the midst of these great men, men of honor and dignity in the society. They were respected and almost seen as gods. I was to be judged and stoned to death for an offence which embraces such sentence. I could think of nothing but scan through my past and come to a conclusion that I have indeed led a worthless life. I drank, slept around with men and do anything to get money. If indeed I’m to die today, I guess I deserved it, but I don’t want to die, not like this! “This woman was caught in the very act of adultery”, said one of my accusers, holding a large stone in his hand accompanied by some others who were standing behind me. They were all waiting for a go ahead command to execute the usual judgment. I was brought to be judged by a preacher, who some said was the messiah while others say he is just a prophet. He had just arrived in town some days ago and had performed many miracles: raised the dead, healed the sick and gave hope to those who were broken hearted. His doctrine is quite unique and he always stands out for the truth. “The law says anyone caught in the act of adultery should be stoned to death” my accusers called out, waiting for the preacher’s consent; who bent down and began writing on the ground. I was gripped with fear and began trembling all over such that I felt my knees hitting each other. For a moment I felt some injustice, it takes two to commit such an offence as this. How come they’ve not brought the man forward (since we were caught in the very act)? Of course, he is one of them, one of those respected men in the society so they had to cover up for him and I alone will face the wrath of the law. How unjust is the judgment of man! They kept demanding for the go ahead from the preacher who was still writing on the ground. I couldn’t say a word. I wanted to pray, but my mouth was too heavy to speak to the God I never loved, feared and acknowledged. Finally the

54 | GOSPEL SAINTS | AFRICA DECEMBER 2017

preacher stood up and said “let him that is without sin among you be the rst to go ahead”; he then bent down and began writing on the ground again. One by one, my accusers dropped their stones and left the scene, from the eldest to the youngest. Then I realized that they are all sinners just like I am; being unjust in their businesses, breaking the law and covering up their acts with their inuences. Some of them had also committed adultery, but no one was bold enough to challenge them. I was left alone with the preacher who looked up and saw me all alone. As he drew close to me, I felt the warmth of his love, but I couldn’t look steadfastly at his face, for it glows and radiates an unexplainable glory. I heard a voice from within my heart saying, “this is your redeemer, savior and friend”. When he got to where I knelt, he asked “where are your accusers?” With a shaky voice I said, “They are all gone” I replied; “neither do I accuse you, go and sin no more”. And he walked away. My heart welled up with tears of joy, not because I’ve not been sentenced, but for the rst time in many years I felt free from guilt and fear. I have been given a go ahead to live another life by mercy himself. For justice and law demanded my life, but beautiful is how mercy saw me.

CHRISTIAN MOVIES

MOUNT ZION FILMS

by Oluwatobi Ogidiolu

Mike and Gloria Bamiloye are the pioneer of the faith based Christian movies "Mount Zion Films" through this platform, they have increasingly preached the sound doctrine of Jesus Christ, which is the Gospel of truth and rapture which is also the second coming of Jesus Christ. Having carved an enclave for Christian Films with 100th movies in their name, we cannot but laud God who is working through them. We also appreciate them for being Vessels unto honour. Thank God for this amazing Couples who have hazarded a lot to preach the gospel through the gift of God in them. I grew up watching Christian movies such as Agbara Nla' Which literally means "Ultimate Power" “Ayamantanga” and the likes. There's no household where this lm does not leave a footprint. With the parts rolling, we all rolled along like folded mountains into One. It is indeed a privilege to have such Iconic Christian movie producers discharge so much effort to ensure their gifts to serve the true purpose of the Gospel. Also, in that direction, Damilola Bamiloye has been extended the ladder of Salvation to Christian and Non-Christian in particular through the gift of GOD in him, 'Film making'. With movies under his belt such as, Mobile Prison, The Manager, Bosom Fire, The Accountant, Journey in a Circle. As the ministry is expanding, we pray God’s grace be sufcient enough for them.

Books Every Christian in College Should Read

In many ways, college is a formative time for developing what you really believe. This book will help you with the basics of classic Reformed theology, and show you why it is so important to adhere to sound doctrine.

Become a doctor. Be a teacher. Go into the nancial services industry. Get your degree and excel at your job. But don’t waste your life. By taking the reader through much Scripture and experience, Piper will show you how and why this matters. Because after all, “Only one life, ’twill soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.” (Charles Studd)

I’m convinced that many Christians in college who live in America are asleep with respect to overseas missions and why it is so important. This book will wake you up.

You might be a broke college student, but the two dollars in your bank account is still the Lord’s. Alcorn will show you how to steward your money to the glory of God — an important principle to learn at your age.

57 | GOSPEL SAINTS | AFRICA DECEMBER 2017

At your age, you might be struggling with a low view of the Church in light of your upbringing, theological ignorance, personal pride, or whatever. I was once there. This book will show you that your Christian walk is not just “you and Jesus,” and help you grow a love for God’s bride.

During college, you’ll have more time to spend with unbelievers than you probably will for the rest of your life. This book will teach you how to reach the lost and make you weep for the lost.

Packer reveals the excellencies of God and will help you know him better with your mind, soul, and heart. When a theological book sells over one million copies, you should pay attention.

Fewer things in the Christian life are more important than prayer. Developing a strong prayer life is essential in college and this book is simply outstanding.

PRAYER TUNNEL

PRAYER

VARIATION

here are many different types of prayers found in the Bible; some given by name and others by example. There is also variation in how people categorize various prayers in the Bible. Here is a good list to get you started in studying the different types of prayers in the Bible for yourself. I trust these descriptions will help you in your study and that they will encourage you to look for these prayers for many years to come as you study God’s Word. Prayer of Thanksgiving Philippians 4:6 and Colossians 4:2 tell us to pray with thanksgiving. Psalm 95 and 100 tell us to enter into the presence of God with thanksgiving. When Christ prayed He often gave thanks (Matthew 15:36; 26:26, 27; Luke 22:19). Praying with thanksgiving should be a regular part of our prayer life. Paul tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 that praying with thanksgiving should be a regular course of communication with God. It is the will of God for us to pray with thanksgiving. This is not something that should be reserved for one special time of year, but we should always have an attitude of thankfulness. Supplication Along with being thankful, Paul tells us in Philippians 4:6 that we should pray with supplication. The idea of supplication is that of asking. It isn’t just asking God for something on behalf of others (which is an intercessory prayer), but supplication is more a prayer for oneself. We see this prayer often in the Psalms where David is asking God for help in a particular area of his own life. If you do a search for the word supplication in the Bible you will nd almost 60 instances of the word. In almost every case it is talking about the person asking God for something on their own behalf. It occasionally mentions praying in supplication on behalf of others. The point being that it is not arrogant to pray for your own needs. God welcomes you with open arms when you take your genuine requests for help to Him.

Intercessory Prayer Interceding is typically thought of as praying on behalf of others. It means to intervene between two people, to speak on behalf of someone to another person. Another word that is found in the Bible that is used in this way is the word intreat. It means to beg or implore. Many times in the Bible it is used in the same way as the word intercede.

58 | GOSPEL SAINTS | AFRICA DECEMBER 2017

Paul tells Timothy in 1 Timothy 2:1 that intercessory prayer (along with several other types of prayer) should be given on behalf of all men. Imprecatory Prayer You won’t nd this word in the Bible, but it is a type of prayer that is associated with King David. To imprecate means to curse or speak evil toward someone. When David used this type of praying it wasn’t as a form of exacting revenge. Rather, David used it as a way to show agreement with God’s judgment and sovereignty over evil. A few examples of this type of prayer are Psalms 7, 35, 55, 58 and 59. David’s prayers (and the imprecatory prayers of others in the Bible) were not hateful or vengeful. We are told by the Lord to pray for our enemies in Matthew 5 and Luke 6. The context for both of those passages is loving our enemies and praying for their good. As we pray for our enemies God often works in our own hearts to love them more even though they are undeserving

of our love. Corporate or Public Prayer The book of Acts teaches much about corporate prayer. The disciples and the early church were involved in public prayer. In the rst couple chapters of Acts it seems that the church services were mainly made up of prayer. Decisions in the early church were accompanied by prayer. This is seen in the choosing of the rst deacons (Acts 6:1-6) and when they sent out the rst missionaries (Acts 13:1-3). Closet or Private Prayer In Matthew 6:5, 6 the Lord tells His disciples to pray privately. Certainly there is nothing wrong with public prayer, but we should not pray to be seen of men. The example that Christ uses is the hypocrites who pray out loud—and loudly—so that they can be seen by others. Private prayer is a time of personal relationship with the Lord. We get our term closet prayer from this passage in Matthew. Worship A prayer of worship and a prayer of thanksgiving both focus on God. However, while the prayer of thanksgiving focuses on what God has done, the prayer of worship focuses on who God is. We see this in Jesus’ model prayer for the disciples. He says to pray in worship and honor to who God is (Matthew 6:9-13 and Luke 11:2-4). Prayer of Consecration This is a type of prayer that the Lord used as a conrmation and dedication to the will of the Father in Matthew 26, Luke 22 and Mark 14. We see another example of this in Hannah’s prayer dedicating Samuel to the Lord (1 Samuel 1:24-28). Prayer of Faith James says the prayer of faith will heal the sick (James 5:15). This is a prayer that is offered in condence knowing that the Lord will answer. Of course, we are taught in 1 John 5:14 how that we can know God hears us and will answer; by praying in His will. When our prayers are in line with His will, then we can have that condence of the prayer of faith. Prayer is Communicating with God God wants to have a relationship with us. We are given several different types of prayer in the Bible. You may lump some of these prayers together as one type and you may also nd other types of prayer than what I have listed. That is ne. What is important is that we have the relationship with the Lord through prayer in the way He desires. Spend time studying God’s Word and the many examples of communicating with Him. Philippians 4:6 is a great verse to help you get started in your study of prayer: “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

THE IMPOSSIBILITY OF SEXUAL PURITY? Darasimi Mike-Bamiloye exual purity. By the fun loving the youth, can be regarded as the unpleasant joining of two contradicting words. [If the word “ Purity” could Just be removed.] Sexual purity is the refusal to being enslaved by your hormones. It is one of the traits [among others] that distinguishes us from animals. It is a discipline of the body. But most importantly, sexual purity is God's perfect will for us. 1 Timothy 4:12 KJV [12] Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. It is not just abstinence from sex before marriage, but doing away with anything sexually immoral such as pornography and masturbation. You are Awesome. You have no idea how amazing you are. The programming, structuring and functioning of our bodies is a wonder to scientists. It's amazing how wonderful and articulately our complicated systems t into one entity. That's biology. Now here is a fact, you are awesome. Why? Because you are heir to the throne of the mighty ruler. You are a prince of the king of kings. You are the princess of the most high. You are made in the image of the God and you have no idea how much you are worth. Now, don't you think you are amazing enough for your body to not be disrespected? 1 Corinthians 6:19 KJV [19] What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? Each and every single One of us has been programmed with a vacuum in our hearts. It's like a keyhole. But a hole to the size of an empty room. We tend to ll it up with whatever we believe we cannot do without like drugs, drinks, food(gluttony) and other addictions including sex. The devil gives the false hope that would last for a short period of time, then have us craving for more because IT DOES NOT FILL THE VOID. MASTURBATION DOES NOT FILL THE VOID. PORNOGRAPHY DOES NOT FILL THE VOID. On the contrary, it puts a chain of Bondage on you, especially your heart and mind, making you a slave to it. So whatever you think, see or feel would remind you about how much you think you cannot do without

it. You may not be at peace till you eventually surrender to it, ensnaring yourself the more in sexual immorality. It's like when an inated balloon has a really tiny tear. It doesn't pop suddenly, it's deation will be silent and gradually till it is nothing better than a nylon. That is what sexual immorality does to its victims. It degrades your self-worth and robs you of so much gifts and blessings. It gives the devil the opportunity to strike and if you think we have all the time in the world to stop and start a new leaf, it takes just one day for a house to crumble from a faulty foundation. There are some who believe that once they get married, they will denitely stop feeding their desires immorally. Please do not be deceived. It is a lie from the pit of hell. A terrible deception the devil is using to manipulate you and secure problems in your marriage before it even begins. When the foundation is faulty, what can the righteous do?

The Battleeld of The Mind All forms of sexual immorality start with a provocative thought. It is either you combat it as it comes or let it stay in your mind and take root. If that happens, it will denitely grow and you will end up doing what you regret. Let's look at your mind as the battleeld and our hearts as the castle that the enemy is contending for. There are a number of youths today [And I have been in such situations before] who believe that as far as the immoral acts do not get out of our heads, we are ne. Youths with minds that have been exposed to the dirtiest images or the dirtiest thoughts. But since they do not act it out, they believe everything is ne. Such minds have been turned into a prison of immorality. How can such people hear from God? Even if such vessels are hearing from God at the moment, I believe we

is a spiritual battle so don't give up because He that is in us is greater than he that is in the world. Even if you fall again and I don't pray that you do, but if it happens be genuine about your repentance because he sees your heart. Ask God for forgiveness, BUILD YOUR SPIRIT MAN with prayer and the word of God and move on in your Christian journey. You have a glorious future that the devil is trying to eclipse before you even have a glimpse of it. DO NOT LET HIM. Sexual immorality; masturbation, pornography and sex before marriage are his tools amongst others, to hinder Gods plan and wonderful purpose for your life. The Bible says in Matthew 11:12 KJVS: [12] And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. The spirit of this end time is raging against your bright future. If you want to be victorious, you must plant your feet on the solid rock of Christ and be determined to live by God's word. You must be prepared to be a soldier for Christ because Christianity isn't you boarding a cruise ship to heaven. On the contrary, you are on a battleship and the Pirates [The devil and his demons] are doing all they can to sink your ship. What do you do? You ght! Whether the weather be calm or whether the weather be the storm itself, Nothing must stop you from reaching your glorious destiny. The Ultimate Solution But you can't break through without accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Even if you feel like you've done too much

IMPOSSIBILITY OF SEXUAL PURITY?

But There is Hope! So many have tried to stop masturbating. So many have tried to leave their sexual partners so many with tears, regret the fact that they just keep going back. They don't know how to stop it despite the fact that they have prayed or taken purity cards. They just can't quit. Sexual immorality is a horrible sin to be addicted to. Many have given up the ght and given in to the pleasure and this is because they believe it's impossible to quit. But IT IS VERY POSSIBLE. Praise the Lord, for with God all things are possible. [Now don't roll your eyes, yet]. You have dabbled into sexual immorality despite the verse of the Bible that tells you to ee youthful lust. 2 Timothy 2:22 KJV [22] Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. Of all the sins in the world, there is a reason God told us to ee this one. It is because he is fully aware of how hooked we can be on it. When he said ee, He means you should run away from it. Don't look back, don't try to ght it, just run with everything in you. 1st Thessalonians 5: 22 says we must “ abstain from every appearance of evil”. So whatever you believe might spur such

desires in your mind do away with them. How? Leave that particular atmosphere do not be alone at that point for Temptations will linger in your mind. Now, you must speak the word of God to your body quote scripture to it. Burst into worship and praise to God. When you spend time with God like this you wouldn't know when the immoral thoughts and desires would disappear. When the devil came to tempt Jesus, he replied with what was written in the Scriptures because every word in the Bible has been ordained and empowered by the Holy Spirit for a time like this. We must also develop a personal relationship with God. So what is the major solution to sexual immorality? Since we now understand that it all begins from the mind, The solution is the renewal of the mind with the word of God. A renewed mind would not wander into lustful thinking, neither will it entertain sexual thoughts even if it is confronted with them. A mind renewed by the word of God would immediately combat immoral thoughts with scriptures, worship God and dance out of the atmosphere that will encourage immorality because the mind that is renewed would know that it is guarding the jewel of the soul which is the heart. Proverbs 4:23 KJV [23] Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Your heart is precious and the devil is aware of this. He is doing all he can pollute it so we must do all we can to protect it from him. We denitely can't do it on our own. That is why we must maintain a close relationship with God. It

against Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us from all unrighteousness. You just need to acknowledge that you're a sinner tell him to come into your heart and to be the master of your life. When He is in charge of your life you do not have to worry about going the wrong path because He will direct you into His perfect will but that is only when you are careful in obeying His word. He died for you to live as His child and the glorious future He has in store for you, is more wonderful than you can ever imagine. You can call Him into whatever storm you are facing in your life because He alone has the name that is above every other name and at the mention of His name every knee must bow and every tongue must confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. If you are ready to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, please say this prayer with me; Lord Jesus, I thank you for the gift of Life. I believe you died for me on the cross and you rose again on the third day. I confess my sins before you, now. Please forgive me and cleanse me. Be the Master of my life and I, a child of God. Thank you for hearing my prayer. In Jesus name, Amen. If you said this prayer, CONGRATULATIONS! Welcome into the fold, you are a child of God. Do nd a Bible believing church near you, please get a Bible if you do not have one, read it daily and talk to your Heavenly Father because He wants to hear from you. God bless you and may the Lord be with you.

remember the illustration of the licking balloon. Paul knew how sensitive the mind is and had this to say ; Philippians 4:8 KJV [8] Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. It's a key instruction for our victory in the Battleeld of the mind.

xcept a great sense of fashion doesn't entail one's ability to combine colours, pieces and accessories then gospel personalities cannot be fashion icons (what I consider an urban legend). It's on this ground that I have picked just a few out a handful of Nigerian male gospel ď€ gures who can never go wrong in their fashion game. These are people I've observed closely for a period of time now, long enough to talk about their fashion choices and appeal. These personalities have also fashionably proven to us that there is truly a good relationship between God and cleanliness or good looks. From native attires to English wears, formal to casual looks these amazing personalities have been on top of their games when it comes to fashion just like their scriptural endeavours. If you are in the know of their social lives, then you will come to terms with the fact that faulting them fashion wise does come easily if at all. The average-minded would opine fashion to be solely for secular personalities, these men defy such ill perception. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you our foremost stylish male gospel personalities in Nigeria in no particular order. A list which comprises of :

"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away".

he above quote is an excerpt from the book of Timothy chapter three verses one to ve. Having to carefully examine those words, there's no doubt or argument about it, we are surely in the last days. These are the days where men and women only profess God with their mouth and their heart is far away from what proclaim. Days where arguments and diverse doctrines come up to cause division amongst believers. Days where more of heresies are taught in the house of God. Days where men of God act diplomatic with the truth just to keep having members in their church. Days where many believers in the house of God are more interested in church positions and titles than seeking spiritual growth. Days where men no longer want to pay tithe with the argument that the pastors are the ones lavishing the money on themselves. Days where homosexuals can be found as the lead vocalist in the church not even excluding the pastor. Days where a man can decide not to be a man anymore then go ahead to do a Transgender and become a woman. Lord! Having to say it is saddening is surely an understatement, these days are evil. Just of recent, an argument about whether to pay tithes or not arose, and lots of people gave different reactions to

it, and I ask, is it even supposed to be a thing to argue about. It can only be a sign of the last days we are in. The main thing I really want to address is one of the heretic teachings being taught by half baked believers and even some pastors in churches today.

The Fury of the Last Days

Heretic teaching of eternal security; I mean, how will a believer that claims to have studied the word begin to preach that once you are saved, you are forever saved.

don't need to make peace with God and with myself because God does not even acknowledge that I sinned.

Can the awaited saviour just come now! The world has absolutely gone haywire, the church has been turned to a money making venture by some evil minded men and women. The true word of God is being hoarded by some pastors so they won't hurt the feelings of their members.

I am wondering if these heretic teachers have a different or specially made Bible because if it is the same Bible I read , I understand from it that my God is plenteous in mercy but it also tells me; my God is a consuming re.

But it is not even as hurting as the fact that this generation of believers dislikes the study of the word, which means that they only rely on what they are being fed with in church and believe you me, many are fed with hell approved gibberish. It is a pity.

Why do we take the good promises of the Bible and forget that it also comes with instructions to follow. Why do we only make do with the pleasant things of the Bible and neglect the commandments that back them up.

When the Bible says 'Can we continue in sin that the grace of God continues to abound' and it says God forbid. Why would someone tell me when I fall into sin, I should not bother asking for forgiveness because it's automatic. Really? You mean if I consciously go astray, I

69 | GOSPEL SAINTS | AFRICA DECEMBER 2017

The only explanation to all these questions can only be; we are in the last days and these are the signs. But you know what, the word of God is complete and there is no sin without its punishment.

Heretic teaching is a sin with punishments to follow. I love how the bible describes heresies and even the teachers of these heresies in the book of second Peter chapter two, verses one to twenty two; "But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does a not slumber. Doom of False Teachers For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world,

but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the ood on the world of the ungodly; and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly; and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the lthy conduct of the wicked for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for

speaking with a man’s voice restrained the madness of the prophet. These are wells without water, clouds be carried by a tempest, for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever. Deceptions of False Teachers. For when they speak great swelling words of emptiness, they allure through the lusts of the esh, through lewdness, the ones who have actually escaped d from those who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage. For if, after they have escaped the pollution of the world through the knowledge of the

the day of judgment, and especially those who walk according to the esh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority. They are presumptuous, selfwilled. They are not afraid to speak evil of dignitaries, whereas angels, who are greater in power and might, do not bring a reviling accusation against them before the Lord. Depravity of False Teachers but these, like natural brute beasts made to be caught and destroyed, speak evil of the things they do not understand, and will utterly perish in their own corruption, and will receive the wages of unrighteousness, as those who count it pleasure to carouse in the daytime. They are spots and blemishes, carousing in their own deceptions while they feast with you, having eyes full of adultery and that cannot cease from sin, enticing unstable souls. They have a heart trained in covetous practices, and are accursed children. They have forsaken the right way and gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; but he was rebuked for his iniquity: a dumb donkey

Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.”

70 | GOSPEL SAINTS | AFRICA DECEMBER 2017

The word of God says it all. Let Him that has an ear, hear that heretic teaching of eternal salvation is a sin and a sign of this last days. Do not be ignorant of the devices of the devil. Not all Christian teachings are good teachings. These are indeed 'Perilous times'. Watch and Pray.

Shalom!

There are virgins in their late twenties and they are still waiting on the Lord. You don't have to have sex to become a better lady or wake-up lady. This does not exclude young men , you don't condently say, but am a Man , I don't have to be a virgin. You are wrong, virginity as expected to be seen in a lady is also should be the pride of men too. We cannot lay one side of the dirty bed and leave the other. Sexual immorality, Bible forbids and warn severely we shouldn't partake in such impurity because no Sin escape the sight of the Lord, this particular type of Sin is what God doesn't want to behold with his eyes because of the degree and extent of causing delement to the children of God. As a teenager we should be aware of false affection or infatuation that are express via text. SMS that conveys messages such as smile for me, I love you are not permissible because the devil will breathe into the thought of the sender and it could lead to can I see your private parts. These are places that should be kept hidden for your future partner. If you are

already engaged in such acts or you've grown to trade sex like a free pass you need to disengage in such act because this is what sexual urges, desires and acts get you, total dislodgement from partaking in Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. You remember the Lords prayer which says The grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ be with Us now and forever more. This is because only a pure heart and a righteous man or woman can boldly ask to continue in grace. Sin broods degradation and also employs more people into a sinful bandwagon, it is a pity that the people you should bring for deliverance and call into the boat of salvation, you secretly sleep with. you are not only darting to young widows, but extending your immoral acts to naive teenagers .This piece also points to the fact that adults whom the virtue of great understanding and experience lure naive teenagers to committing sexual immorality with a dirty orientation. Straight away, anyone who commits illicit sexual acts is in a prison of torment by the devil because it is selling your right to the devil and the Devil is a taskmaster , he. Will surely task anyone that has been won into a sinful life. If you are a secondary school student, I have goodness for you or you just gained admission into any tertiary institution. MORE THAN TWO DECADES AFTER Winners chapel WAS FOUNDED A LOOK AT OUR CHRISTIAN WORLD

Living Faith Church Worldwide (also known as Winners Chapel) is a megachurch and a Christian denomination founded by Bishop David Oyedepo in 1983. The organization has since become a global network of churches with congregations in 65 countries.

HISTORY The beginnings of the church can be traced back to May 1981 when Oyedepo at age 26 claims to have had an 18-hour vision from God. In this vision God spoke to him saying, "Now the hour has come to liberate the world from all oppressions of the devil, through the preaching of the Word of faith; and I am sending you to undertake this task". Two years later, the church began operating with four members on December 11, 1983. In 2014, the Church is in 65 countries. Faith Tabernacle The international headquarters of Winners Chapel is called the Faith Tabernacle. It covers about 70 acres (280,000 m2) and is built inside an over 17,000acre (69 km2) church complex called Canaanland, the international headquarters of the ministry in Ota, a suburb of Lagos. The building took 12 months to be completed. The foundation laying took place on August 29, 1998. The dedication of the building took place on September 19, 1999 with 97,800 people in attendance. The structure is purported to have been built without any debts and within a year of work beginning. Between 1999 and 2014 when the 55,000 acre Philippine Arena was completed, Faith Tabernacle was the largest church building in the world. It has a seating capacity of 50,400 people and an outside overow capacity of over 250,000, with four services every Sunday. Cannanland was procured in 1998 and was initially 560 acres (2.3 km2). Presently it is over 17,000 acres (69 km2) and will take about 120 km to navigate around it. On Dec 11 2013, exactly 30 years after the church commenced services, Pastor David Oyedepo Jnr, rst son of the founder ministered for the rst time at the Church's annual Shiloh gathering. In December 2015, Oyedepo Jnr became the resident pastor of the Faith Tabernacle with unfounded rumours that the older Oyedepo had retired. In Dec 2015, Oyedepo also announced commencement of the construction of a 100,000 capacity Faith Arena which when completed would be the largest auditorium in the world. The Theatre will be centralised within a 15,000 housing estate to be known as 'Canaan City'. Beliefs

A forest and a tendered garden What shall hands not build The heavens by God Garden by men But God didn't get tired Men quit everyday The dimension of the day, time and years He works and disobedient men toiled Some even learned the hard way Buried brothers same way they did to yam. A forest and a tendered garden God watered by season Men wet everyday Yet forest grows vastly And garden afterwards mock the gardener And you, you think you should have been told That God's way is not man's way. Not even your gigantic library can understand the magnitude of His prevailing power And so we built on our knowledge Cried so wise that tears made ablest men foolish. If I were you, I will join the league That fold of forest men Where toiling would not come like Goliath And effort not a single moment appear. That's good news about You Not About Yours. The one in between would not know Nor cultivate a clue Not at all. That You and Yours are unreliable But the best of all, is being a forest man Living under the effortless work of every season This for some reasons, has been the fools luck and wise men's joke.

et me ask you one important question – “What are your values? What are your guiding principles in life? What rules guides your daily decisions and actions?” If you currently are battling with a bad habit which seems quite difcult and somewhat a challenge to drop, you should sit back and ask yourself “how did I get here in the rst place?” Bad habit don't just show up on your schedule of behaviour, but must have been developed over time as a result of the set of values you have chosen to follow or keep to. Guess what, most of the habits we develop today were picked up from our childhood and has grown to be part of our lives. This brings me to the fact that each family unit must have a set of values that are positive and will bring out the best of every

The Family Values (Part 1).

members of the family. What many children pick up from their homes goes a long way to determine their habits. The home is their rst school – they watch their daddy and mummy's behaviour. If daddy and mummy are the quarrelling type and may sometimes lead to violence, then that is the values that the children will come to learn and grow up with. Statistics show that men who beat their wives have the history of living in a family where their fathers were also beating their mothers – so they tend to believe it's normal. If the family environment is full of joy and love, then the output in terms of the behaviour of the members of the family will reect same. Now fathers and mothers must be deliberate in their effort to infuse the values they have chosen for the family and this must be a joint effort between the two (husband and wife). Say for example you deliberately want to

76 | GOSPEL SAINTS | AFRICA DECEMBER 2017

ensure together, as husband and wife, that your children know and respect God; you will make the effort as part of the family values to recognise God rst in all things in the family. You pray together to him, study the bible together and build a relationship with God together as a family. There is a man in the bible that I greatly admire whom I believe is a model when it comes to building a strong and positive family values. His name is Cornelius! The bible says about him in Acts 10:2 – “A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God always”. The point of reference here is one that ….feared God with all his house. He has laid a foundation for the family and instilled that value of the fear of the Lord. Every member of that family understood the signicance of

Seun Ogundolapo worshipping God in spirit and in truth – this includes the children and even his workers. They all had that spiritual understanding such that when the angel had nished explaining to Cornelius what he should do to get true salvation, he was able to explain it easily to his workers and they bought into the vision without struggle – Acts 10: 7-8. He was condent that when he send them of this specic and

important spiritual assignment they are able to represent him and carry it out as if it was Cornelius himself that embarked on the assignment. Indeed they performed the task excellently – Acts 10: 21-23. These members of the household of Cornelius understood the values that he imbibed into the family and they could easily demonstrate same. In our culture, when a child misbehaves people are quick to trace his or her behaviour back to the home/family. God was interested in saving not just Cornelius but his entire household – why is that so? Every member of that family knows God – not just because Cornelius says so, but the values of the family laid a foundation and a platform for easy access to God. Every member of that family has been brought up in the way of the Lord. Proverbs 22:6 says “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it”. Parents have the responsibility to shape the family through the values they both (husband and wife) have decided to instil in their children. Joshua declared to the Israelites back then that he has chosen a path for himself and his family, declaring that they will serve the Lord – Joshua 24:15. God himself is able to boast about the values of some

men in the bible; hear what He says about Abraham – And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him. Genesis18: 17-19.

the family produced the same good result at the same time to the extent the circumcised marvelled Acts10:44-46. A good value system creates a good foundation!

Now let's take a quick trip to another household – Job! Job has an outstanding record before God – a perfect man and upright, one that feared God and eschewed evil (Job 1:1). This man was so perfect that even God himself could boast of him before Satan (Job 1:8). Job has very strong values that created a standard during his God recognised the household of Abraham the same way he recognised days. His values created wealth the household of Cornelius because of for him and prospered his ways, such that he was one of the the right values in these families. richest in his time. His values Such families produce great results drew him very close to God and and the power of God is easily seen God loved him very much: as a manifesting in such families. Please matter of fact, God shared note that the family here can be secrets with Job (Job 29:4) extended to the fellowship family, and that is how much God loved church family, work family, social Job and was close to him. His family etc. A strong value system in strong values created in him a these families will see to it that personality that God wanted to members of the families turn out to be associated with such that be great in life. You will not be God always bring him up in any surprised to see that where the best discussion he had just to boast values are well imbibed in every about him. However do you member of the family, they will know what Job didn't do right? produce similar good results. In Cornelius' household, all members of He never instil the values in his

household! All the credentials were all about Job and Job alone!! Job had 7 sons and 3 daughters who never learn how to pray and study the bible but kept having feasts and enjoying themselves with the abundance of their father. No record shows that they were hard working, well behaved or disciplined. There is no record that they feared the Lord and eschewed evil just like their father. We can easily conclude that they were not brought up in the way of the Lord and in fact do not know God at all. Why is this so? I'll tell you why, Job never taught his family! While his children go feasting daily, Job was praying for them – Job 1: 4-5. You can imagine that during Job's trials when he needed encouragement and support, Job's wife advised him to curse God and die! Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? Curse God, and die (Job 2:9).That was the best of solution that the wife could offer based on her own value system. That is most likely the same value system that she

would have instilled in the children since Job did not play an active spiritual part in the children's life. Below are some failures of Job as a parent:

Job's future that the devil attacked i.e. his children; he never touched his wife. Our children are our future and we should guide them through the right path.

1. Job knew God personally, but never introduced his household or his family to God. Job was building a relationship with God and left his family out of it. So he

We see this play out in our world today, many parents would ordinarily say “oh they are but children and would learn later in life” My wife and I started talking to our children about God

eventually has that record of a perfect man who is upright, but with an imperfect and unrighteous home. 2. There was no praying together in Job's home, he does the praying alone. No record shows that he even prays with his wife. He made the mistake of praying on behalf of his household and not teach them how to pray. 3. This also affected the children's upbringing as they were all dependent on their father's wealth. In my own opinion they will be lazy set of children because Job did everything for them including praying on their behalf.

in their early life. My 3 year old son does not just recite the Lord's prayers, but we teach him how to pray and what to pray for: though it might be a very short one line prayer but you are starting from somewhere. When your household sees the importance you place on values they will naturally align. Teach your children to love God, but rst of all show them love. Cornelius I believe created an atmosphere in his home where every member of the family related to each other warmly and in love. Love is the glue that binds a family together. Where there is love in the family it will be very easy for every member of the family to adopt the values you are trying to build in the family. You can easily connect with any member of your family in a warm and loving atmosphere. You will also be able to easily connect them to God is such atmosphere. I see many families use fear to connect their household to God and this has proven in some cases not to turn out well. For example, some use the fear of pregnancy and catching sexually transmitted diseases to teach and/or scare their children away from premarital sex; when in actual fact they need to explain the blessings and beauty that accompany waiting till you get married.

No wonder God was able to boast of only Job and not the entire family. Otherwise God would have said something like “……have you considered my servant Job and his 7 Sons and 3 daughters……” Not even one of the 9 children made that list – “…. Have you considered my servant Job and his rst born….” Or “….have you considered Job and his second daughter….” Or “….have you considered Job and his wife….” No not one made the list. Job failed as a parent and his entire children were wiped out in one day because they were not able to stand the test of time due to very poor value system by their father. When you do not uphold a good value system, your future is at risk. It was

accident and did not come cheap. We as parents pride ourselves in the fact that we are able to provide the best of the best for our children – that is to the best of our abilities. We need them also to understand that we make some sacrices before the provisions were made available. We don't want our children to just lay around being physically and mentally lazy, just like Job's children that go partying

seven days in a week. Hard work has never been known to have bad side effects so teach your children the reason why they should work hard. Teach your family to understand the reason why it pays to help others. Yes, we live in a competitive environment, but we are to look out for each other and not against each other. Our society lacks good value system and that is why we experience decadence among the youths. Everyone is so selsh and not willing to consider his/her neighbour and this will naturally lead to corruption. You can easily tell that many of the politicians and government ofcials today who have been publicly exposed to have embezzled from the country's treasury lacked a good value system. In many cases this can be traced back to wrong value systems from their upbringing. Please remember that every single good value you will imbibe today will bring forth multiple benets in the future. Your children are your future, so invest good values in their lives today and reap a peaceful future. God bless you. Securing God's Presence

Teach your children to know the essence and benet of hard work, let them know that the food that was placed on their table was not by

he reality of life astounds me. So much effort is put into things that won't last, though it's made to seem it would. All the hustle and bustle, the quest to acquire knowledge, the extreme deprivation of much needed things to look a certain way, all is Vanity. Deep down in our hearts we know this, but our souls are like a bottomless pit, we keep doing more to ll it, yet we are not satised. We strive, we push, every 80 | GOSPEL SAINTS | AFRICA DECEMBER 2017

milestone reached is like a starting point for another, the sky is never the limit. We hope that someday, we'll get to that point of genuine satisfaction, but in reality we won't, because we'll keep wanting more. We hope to become someone, or do something that'll satisfy everyone around us, but we really can't. It's like a circle, we'll keep going round and round till we get to a point where we are forced to stop. The one true entity that we need in all is GOD. We need to key into a greater source, oh no, it won't provide us with an endless stream of energy to fulll our desires. It

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come." II Timothy 3:1

he greatest threat to the kingdom of Jesus Christ today is the carnal, compromising, effeminate, and worldly Christianity the devil has spawned to destroy the faith once delivered to the saints. False teachers promote it on every side. The cure is simple, but few ministers will use it, since most hearers are demanding fables and entertainment instead. The importance of this prophecy cannot be overstated. You are living in the fulllment of the perilous times! THE WARNING OF PERILOUS TIMES (3:1) Remember, you are reading a Pastoral Epistle of inspired ministerial advice from Paul to Timothy. The apostle of the Gentiles was teaching Timothy how to guide and rule the church (I Tim 3:15). Timothy was to take this information and spread it further by ministerial succession (II Tim 2:2). Paul followed his warning and exhortation to Timothy with news he was dying (II Tim 4:6-7). Paul needed to exhort Timothy to continue in the things Jesus had given Paul (II Timothy 3:14).

PERILOUS TIME

Paul's inspired words are superior to any seminary, council, creed, or pope (II Timothy 3:16-17). Any conference using Bill Hybels or Rick Warren is not only inferior, but counterproductive! Though the "last days" may extend from Christ to the end of the world (Acts 2:17; Heb 1:2), Paul used that term and "perilous times" here to describe a time yet coming by virtue of the future tense; Timothy was not yet in it, so we may rightfully look for a fulllment in history, even our generation! If the blessed God described these future times as perilous, we should carefully heed the warning. Perilous. Very dangerous; full of risk; hazardous; very harmful; dreadful; frightening; threatening; terrible; greatly to be avoided. (OED). It is of the greatest importance for us to properly identify what constitutes a real threat to saints. There are threats more dangerous than persecution and martyrdom, which instead puried saints! If we neglect this plain prophecy and warning, we will not be a church that pleases Jesus Christ. Christians respond immediately and aggressively to health or wealth perils, what about spiritual? Man has ideas of what would be perilous times, but we must compare them soberly to God's idea. Satan's deceptions distract and divert Christians to get them to ght windmills instead of error. There is no warning here about famine, recession, war, disease, pollution, global warming, etc. There is no warning of cults, idolatry, witchcraft, murder, adultery, pornography, bestiality,

86 | GOSPEL SAINTS | AFRICA DECEMBER 2017

etc. There is no warning here against the UN, the CFR, the USSR, UNICEF, CIA, BSA, NEA, etc. Satan uses the above threats to distract and discredit Christians and cause them to deny God. Communism and Y2K showed that many saints are distracted and diverted from the real war. Such fears distract saints by causing them to be vigilant and active in the wrong battle. Such fears discredit saints by showing the world that they do not recognize real dangers. Such fears deny God by apparently forgetting He is in total charge of international politics. The only fear a child of God should have is fear of God, Who can cast into hell (Lu 12:4-5). Our spiritual battle, not against esh and blood, is the only battle (Eph 6:10-18; I Peter 2:11). Satan has political preachers who make ghting international conspiracies their main gospel. Perilous times were a future threat – they shall come – which introduces us to their precise identity. The pagans of Timothy's day already had the symptoms that follow. Paul saw something worse. All generations have had these sinful proclivities in natural men, so there is a much greater evil. The warning of future perilous times, dened as moral decline, cannot be mere worldly excess. The warning is against carnal Christianity, not the general sinfulness of the unbelieving world. Since these sins have always been, the warning must be Christianity allowing and living them. This is a prophetic warning of a deceitful and seductive,

degenerate and dangerous Christianity. They would have a "form of godliness," implying they are professing and practicing Christians. They would love pleasures more than God, implying they were not just worldly, godless pagans. They would creep into houses and lead captive silly women, yet they are not wicked kidnappers. They would promote much learning to these silly women, but there would be no truth learned. As long as there were martyrs for the truth, you did not have to worry about such Christianity. This situation would degenerate with evil seducers and deceivers deceiving and being deceived. It includes the general rejection of preaching sound doctrine for the entertaining fables of men. By comparing "perilous times shall come" (3:1) and "the time will come" (4:3), we must say that if this is not a prophecy of this very generation, what other generation could it possibly be? Paul told Timothy to turn from these men, which requires them to be a false brand of Christians, for Timothy did not need to be exhorted to turn away from pagan worldlings (II Thess 3:12). This passage, from 3:1 to 4:5, describes the rise of a compromising and effeminate Christianity. This passage, from 3:1 to 4:5, perfectly describes the Christianity of our times and its remedy. With all the love and fancy for Bible prophecy, why is there no zealous response to these words? Paul has given a similar warning in two other places that manifestly pertains to Roman Catholicism. He told the Thessalonians of a falling away [from truth] before the man of sin (II Thess 2:1-12). He told Timothy of men departing from the faith to Catholic fasting and celibacy (I Tim 4:1-6). There is no doubt that in one way the passage before us applies to the false Christianity of Rome. However, by scrutiny of the passage, we can see the further degeneration to today's Christianity. In light of this threatening prophecy, saints must exhort one another often (Heb 3:12-13; 10:23-25). The Christianity about to be described is unacceptable to the holy God of heaven (Heb 12:28-29). The perils listed by the Spirit should be the criteria for self-examination of families and churches. The perils are for Christians … they are not general perils for mankind, the world, etc., etc.

he Convener of Experience Concert and Senior Pastor of House on the Rock, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, said the gathering would be a stage for Christians paying little respect to statement of faith, principle or ethnicity to offer supplications for Nigeria. He stated: ''The Experience is a central social event point for the Christian people group and its numerous voting demographics from crosswise over Nigeria, Africa and in reality the world. It includes the absolute best of indigenous and worldwide craftsmen driving a huge number of individuals in love and acclaim to our ruler and furthermore gives a remarkable chance to all Christians paying little respect to statement of faith, tenet or ethnicity to offer petitions for our country. ''This year's edition guarantees to be no less energizing as Don Moen, Donnie McClurkin, Travis Greene, Tope Alabi , Chevelle Franklyn, Chioma Jesus, Sonnie Badu, Onos, Micah Stampley, Tim Godfrey, Midnight Crew, Frank Edwards, Eben, BeeJay Sax, Nathaniel Bassey and The Lagos Metropolitan Gospel Choir become the dominant focal point and minister worship and praise to Jesus, King of Kings. mith Wigglesworth was born on 8 June 1859 in Menston, Yorkshire, England, to an impoverished family. As a small child, he worked in the elds pulling turnips alongside his mother; he also worked in factories. During his childhood he was illiterate. Nominally a Methodist, he became a born again Christian at the age of eight. His grandmother was a devout Methodist; his parents, John and Martha took young Smith to Methodist and Anglican churches on regular occasions. He was conrmed by a Bishop in the Church of England, baptized by immersion in the Baptist Church and had the grounding in Bible teaching in the Plymouth Brethren while learning the plumbing trade as an apprentice from a man in the Brethren movement. Wigglesworth married Polly Featherstone on 2 May 1882. At the time of their marriage, she was a preacher with the Salvation Army and had come to the attention of General William Booth. They had one daughter, Alice, and four sons, Seth, Harold, Ernest and George. Polly died in 1913.His grandson, Leslie Wigglesworth, after more than 20 years as a missionary in the Congo, served as the president of the Elim Pentecostal Church. Wigglesworth learned to read after he married Polly; she taught him to read the Bible. He often stated that it was the only book he ever read, and did not permit newspapers in his home, preferring the Bible to be their only reading material. Wigglesworth worked as a plumber, but he abandoned this trade because he was too busy for it after he started preaching. In 1907, Wigglesworth visited Alexander Boddy during the Sunderland Revival, and following a laying-on of hands from Alexander's wife, Mary Boddy, he experienced speaking in tongues. He spoke at some of the Assemblies of God events in Great Britain. He also received ministerial credentials with the Assemblies of God in the United States, where he evangelized during the 1920s and later. Ministry Wigglesworth believed that healing came through faith, and he was exible in his approach. When he was forbidden to lay hands on audience members by the authorities in Sweden, he preached for a "corporate healing", by which people laid hands on themselves. He also practiced anointing with oil, and the distribution of "prayer handkerchiefs" (one of which was sent to King George V). Wigglesworth sometimes attributed ill-health to demons. Smith Wigglesworth praying for a sick woman Ministering at many churches throughout Yorkshire, often at Bethesda Church at Swallownest (on the outskirts of Shefeld), Wigglesworth claimed to have had many prophecies. He also had an international ministry: as well as Sweden, he ministered in the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, the Pacic Islands, India, Ceylon, and several countries in Europe. Some of his sermons were transcribed for Pentecostal magazines, and these were collected into two books: Ever Increasing Faith[ and Faith that

Healing Supporters of Smith said they were miraculously healed with accounts being described in the popular press and in Pentecostal magazines.[citation needed] There were reports that people were raised from the dead, including his wife Polly. Many people said they were cured of cancer by him. Wigglesworth, whose only training was as a plumber, described cancer as 'a living evil spirit', and insisted that many

diseases were 'satanic in origin'.[9] His methods often involved hitting, slapping or punching the aficted part of the body. On a number of occasions his approach to persons suffering from stomach complaints was to punch them in the stomach, sometimes with such force that it propelled them across the room. When challenged on this, his response was "I don't hit them, I hit the devil". Responding to criticism over his method of praying for the sick, Wigglesworth stated: "You might think by the way I went about praying for the sick that I was sometimes unloving and rough, but oh, friends, you have no idea what I see behind the sickness and the one who is aficted. I am not dealing with the person; I am dealing with the satanic forces that are

SUMMARY OF THE LIFE OF ARCHBISHOP BENSON IDAHOSA

During a football game one Sunday, he got converted by Pastor Okpo and became very zealous in soul winning and village outreaches. In a night vision, the presence of the Lord ď€ lled his room and a voice spoke from Heaven to him, calling him to spread the Gospel around the world and that he will be backed by signs and wonders. To this he replied that he was willed and stayed up all night praying, renewing his vows to the Lord and interceding for souls yet to be touched by the message of Salvation. He moved into ministry work afterwards, preaching from village to village and more souls were won for Christ as well as the sick were healed. According to his wife, he died on March 12, 1998 during a lunch meeting with a team from Oral Roberts University. He was seen thanking the Lord and the team followed suit and it was in that moment that he passed on. Reference: Dictionary of African Christian Biography
