05_Display Units

Constructif is ideal for creating specific areas within the open plan workspace which can be reconfigured as an alternative to putting up fixed walls and partitions. Storage boxes, lockers, magnetic white boards and acoustic panels are just a few of the accessories and finish options that enhance Constructif’s functional nature, aiding collaborative and agile working. To help with social distancing, Constructif can also be used to create defined areas and boundaries to help keep staff safe.

Constructif units are ideal for creating work zones and walkways by combining different unit sizes, all of which can be safely secured together.

06_Work Stations

Constructif Work Stations are truly functional, aesthetically pleasing and efficient for many uses and applications. The addition of High Stools completes the unit. Available in any RAL colour, and with the ability to incorporate Whisper acoustic panels, biophilia and decorative accessories, Work Stations can be tailored to suit the environment and use for which they have been designed.

Power modules can be fitted to the central strip of the desk, which also neatly handles cable management.

Constructif stools can be created at appropriate sizes to compliment our range of units and create flexible working zones. Soft seating elements with a variety of fabrics are available, allowing for unlimited design possibilities when coupled with the RAL colour of your choice.

For additional flexibility and ease of use, castors can be added with locking mechanisms.

Constructif Spine Seat modules are a combination of soft booth seating and Constructif display units coming together to form something unique and special. The Constructif spine shelf module enables the user to dress the unit in a way that’s in keeping with the space. And with the ability to powder-coat the steelframe grid in any RAL colour, zones can be defined and tailored.

Sometimes functional collaboration zones need that little bit more privacy, which is no problem when designing with Constructif. The sturdy construction allows for building enclosed third space within an interior environment. In an era where space is a premium, and organisations are looking for ways to maximise their workspace, Cubes are an ideal solution for providing a place for people to go - without occupying meeting rooms that are not space efficient. Large Cubes come as standard with seat units, table, acoustic panels and integral power outlet; small Cubes come as standard with worktop, acoustic panels and integral power outlet.

At Creatif, we understand the importance of sustainable design, which is why we have worked to ensure all of Cube’s components are fully, 100% recyclable. We’re proud to work with leading suppliers that help to champion environmental leadership and contribute towards a sustainable industry - from our fabrics supplied by Camira© and Kvadrat, to our resposibly-sourced boards from LawcrisTM.

06_PG Group Though while open plan workspaces are great for promoting collaborative and flexible working, they often present many challenges when it comes to acoustics. As well as providing the Class A-rated ReSound rafts, we also manufactured and installed a four-person Cube to further aid and encourage collaborative working. Kitted out with internal acoustic panels, the Cube provides a welcome retreat from the open plan surroundings for those wanting to either work in small groups or simply find a private space.

06_Speirs Gumley One of the biggest barriers to a productive working environment is the room’s acoustics and with that in mind, Louise Bramhill Interiors approached us to provide some solutions – namely a third space and some custom-cut panelling. For the third space, our Cubes were the perfect choice and are “constantly booked out” for use by the Speirs Gumley team. Looking at them, it’s easy to see why the Cubes are so popular. The two four-person Cubes we provided feature Class A acoustic panelling to and provide staff with a fixed space for meetings or private, individual work, well away from the buzz of the open office.

07_Frontline In addition to general working areas one would expect, COEL included a range of flexible, creative meeting, and breakout spaces to the plan. However, aware of the acoustic complexities of such a scheme, COEL approached Creatif to deliver several solutions. Three Cubes were installed in the main breakout space to afford Frontline’s staff some privacy within a predominantly social space.

08_Birkdale In 2018, Birkdale opted to renovate its headquarters in High Wycombe and knowing our reputation, they asked for our help. Although the bulk of the sales area was open plan in design, third spaces and smaller working areas were created to aid productivity and ensure privacy. To achieve this, we provided a six-person Cube, to provide an acoustically comforting retreat for those wanting to engage in collaborative work.

09_Grant Thornton Impressed with the versatility of our acoustic meeting booths, Paramount’s designers asked if we’d be able to create something a little bit out of the ordinary. After visiting us at Clerkenwell Design Week 2019, we formalised plans to create six Cubes especially for this project. Three of the Cubes were open-back in design while the remaining three featured back-painted glass on the rear-facing panels, to complement the premium aesthetic of this exceptional workspace. These booths provide Grant Thornton’s staff with a third space to work privately, host meetings or just enjoy a brew.

10_Lindsays The fit out company overseeing the project approached us to provide a solution, which came in the form of our leading acoustic booths, Cube. Our Cubes feature Class A-rated acoustic inserts to stop sound from escaping, and can be inherently customised. For this project, we manufactured two identical four-person booths, complete with a bespoke yellow, black and grey colour scheme to match the office and other featured furniture items.

11_MSV Housing After securing new premises which saw their Stretford branch move to central Manchester’s Trafford House, an office refit was required. The stylish interior encourages agile working by through products designed to enhance flexible space, such as Creatif’s Cube acoustic meeting booths. Offering a welcome retreat from the buzz of the openplan workspace, these comfortable two-person pods are ideal for private conversations and those times staff really need to focus thanks to Class A acoustic interior panels and integrated power and data modules.

12_Astrak The two Cube booths provided for this project offer enough space for a combined total of eight people and, due to their central position within the office layout, they also act effectively as a divider of space. Creatif’s ultra-effective acoustic panels to soak up unwanted background noise and to keep conversations inside the Cube nice and private.

13_QBE In addition to helping to increase collaboration and agile working opportunities, open plan environments can also suffer from excessive reverberation and ultimately levels of noise distraction if acoustics are not considered. Design and build experts, Denton Associates, were aware of this and enlisted the help of Creatif to provide a number of acoustic solutions. Our Cube acoustic booths offer a welcome retreat from the open plan environment.

03_Organics Acoustic Cork Tiles Organics bring dimension, depth and distinctive visual appeal to interior surfaces. Manufactured in sustainably harvested, rapidly renewable, recycled cork, a premium sustainable material for exceptional interior design, the material features high quality granulated cork in a selection of ten fashion-forward vibrant colors and five styles. 06_Freestanding Screens Freestanding Screens offer a practical, stylish and environmentally friendly space division solution. To ensure rigidity, panels are made from 24mm thick compressed recycled polyester. Panel sizes available are up to 2,400mm x 1,200mm without joins.

Multiple panels can be joined to create different layouts. Fixed-angle joining clips ensure the screens stability can't be compromised.

Single panels allow for ease of use when panels are to be moved regularly. In addition, cut-out shapes can be added to direct staff and visitors.

Appropriate bases available if required to improve stability when single panels or lessangled panels are used.

We offer a variety of different sized fixed-angle brackets for joining panels, which can also be painted to any colour.

In addition to a wide range of colours to choose from, aluminium feet and fixed-angle joining clips allow for endless layout customisation.

07_Shape Screen

Offering a truly visual approach to acoustic design, Whisper Shape Screens come impaled on a powder-coated steel pole attached to a weighted steel base. Stable yet easy to move, Shape Screens can - as the name suggests - be cut to any custom cut out shape or pattern.

Whisper Shape Screens are available in a multitude of shapes, fitting within a 1,200mm x 1,200mm template.

The steel base and pole can be painted to any RAL colour, to compliment the interior design.

Whisper Shape Screens are available in the 16 colours currently available.

Custom base designs, including the application of our Wheels steel base for ultimate manoeuverability, increase the ability to bespoke the screens

08_Wheels Screens Whisper Wheels offer design freedom with the ability to create any size, shape and incorporate any cutout design within the sheet size of 1,200mm x 2,400mm. And available in our complete range of 16 colours.

Wheels Screens are ideal for quick and simple space division.

Custom cut-out shapes and panel designs are all possible - useful for wayfinding or branding an area.

Horizontal Wheels Screens are ideal for segregating tables and work stations.

The robust steel base can be painted to any RAL colour to compliment the design. Can incorporate lockable castors too.

The strong steel base with high-quality castors (lockable as an option) ensure a long lifespan, allowing for multiple space configurations within an environment, without the need for fixed partitions or walls, for years to come.

09_Whisper Groove Wall Panels Whisper Groove Wall Panels, with their geometric designs cut into the face of the polyester material, create stunning and interesting acoustic walls. Panels typically are 2,400mm x 1,200, which means large areas can be quickly clad. Alternatively, the panels can be custom-cut to any shape, and then grooved to produce a bespoke acoustic wall that suits the specifics of the design intent.

Laser-cut or CNC grooves create dynamic and interesting acoustic wall surfaces. Bespoke patterns available and bespoke tile/panels sizes available too.

10_Suspended Panels Suspended panels are ideal for creating semipermanent partitions. Thanks to our simple Gripple system, panels are quick and easy to install, making them an ideal back-to-work solution. Maximum panel sizes are 2,400mm x 1,200mm, while we offer two thicknesses of 12mm or 24mm.

Creating walkways and segregated areas is simple thanks to Whisper Suspended Panels.

Our in-house cutting process allows for unlimited design scope.

Suspended Panels are supplied with the appropriate hanging fixtures at no extra cost.

Where metal components are required (such as edging and top U-channel) we’are able to paint to any RAL colour.

Panels can be cut to specific dimensions, and can feature cutout sections, allowing for endless design possibilities.

11_Suspended Panels Suspended panels are available in a series of standard designs, as illustrated on this page. However, our in-house design service can be utilised to create custom-cut solutions to suit the specifics of the space. Logos, patterns, shapes.....all are possible using our CNC cutting process. 12_Float Whisper Sliding Panels

Float is a sliding panel system - and Whisper works with Float. This combination of acoustic panels and sliding rollers on tracks results in an amazing solution enabling spaces to be configured with the added benefit of acoustic absorption and stunning aesthetics.

Float Whisper can be used to create private spaces, or to open up spaces for larger-scale use.

When used in conjunction with Float writeable panels, Float Whisper really enhances performance and configurability of the space.

The lightweight panels can be moved with ease, enabling the users to arrange space according to the need.

Panels can be configured on tracks, and then stacked, in a variety of ways, to maximising the use of the space.

13_Ceiling Grid

In addition to improved acoustic comfort, Whisper Grids enhance the aesthetic of any space thanks to an almost unlimited number of shapes available, testament to our in-house cutting process. Whisper Grids can incorporate any of the current 16 colours mixing colours is possible in any Grid.

The apertures in a Whisper Grid trap sound waves, reducing the amount of noise transferred back into the space.

Easily integrates lighting, sprinklers and other M&E services.

Can cover large areas, and easily suspended from soffits and even timber trusses too.

Whisper Grids can be made to any shape, size and multiple units can be attached together, creating a bespoke solution for any space.

14_Ceiling Rafts & Baffles Acoustic ceiling rafts & baffles are one of the most effective solutions available for improving acoustic comfort, while complimenting the aesthetic of any interior thanks to the wide range of colour and cutting options available. In addition to being lightweight and rigid, Whisper rafts & baffles and are quick to install, easy to clean and built to last.

Ceiling Rafts & Baffles are acoustically effective thanks to the absorbency of the polyester, and thanks to the voids created between the surfaces.

Custom shapes can be cut out to enhance the look of the space.

With a vast array of fixing methods, Rafts & Baffles can be attached to ceilings, soffits, or suspended in any way that suits the space.

Our selection of colours compliment any interior scheme.

15_Custom Ceilings Rafts & Baffles can be combined to create bespoke ceiling configurations. All the while, absorbing sound and looking stunning too. Speak to one of our team to discuss ways Whisper ca n be implemented into your scheme to create a custom ceiling.

16_Printed Whisper Whisper acoustic polyester can be printed to replicate natural materials and textures. This enables designers to implement surfaces that have the aesthetics of natural materials, but combined with the added acoustic benefit that Whisper provides too. The printing process can be applied to any Whisper application whether its Whisper baffles, wall panels, screens or rafts.

The print originates from a high-resolution image. 12mm thick or 24mm thick Whisper can be printed. Artworking sometimes may be required to ensure correct pattern or texture continuation between sheets.

17_Slide-On Desk Screens Whisper Slide-On Desk Screens enhance privacy, provide protection between workers and are an effective way of providing sound absorption too. In addition to the standard shapes, Whisper Desk Screens can be custom-cut and can incorporate bespoke cut-outs if required too.

The simple slide-on design ensures the screens are easily removed and installed elsewhere enabling constant flexibility of desk space..

18_Desktop Screens Whisper Desktop Screens are a versatile, lightweight and cost effective solution when trying to reduce the spread of infection. Screens can be supplied in any size, tailored to suit any desk or workstation, and can be designed to sit on the floor or just on the desk.

Desk Screens provide a safe barrier between staff, reducing the risk of infection transmission in a way that's environmentally friendly, acoustic and aesthetically pleasing too.

Whisper is specially designed to reduce and control reverberated (echo) noise in building interiors. The absorption capability of Whisper is also effected by the way it is applied mounting Whisper on stand-offs on the wall creates an air-gap behind which increases the retention of sound. Likewise creating voids between Whisper baffles, for eg, ensures sound waves are contained.

Whisper is manufactured from 100% polyester fibres and does not contain formaldehyde binders. Creatif polyester fibres support safer indoor air quality and will not become a potential airborne pollutant. Uncontaminated Whisper can be recycled.

03_What is Humm?

A crucial component of Acoustic Design

The concept explained

Humm is the process of adding to an environment a low level of unobtrusive background sound, which is engineered to protect confidentiality and reduce distractions by lowering the intelligibility of speech. This in turn makes the acoustical environment more comfortable.

When designing an optimal acoustic environment, architects consider a variety of elements to address noise control and speech privacy.

Adding sound to a space actually makes the space seem quieter. It sounds counter-intuitive but it’s true. Imagine looking up at the stars…

Elements added either Absorb, Block, or Cover sound, and are collectively called the ABC’s of acoustic design.

The stars shine brightly against the night sky. As dawn breaks, the stars appear to dim as the ambient light increases. The intensity of the starlight has not changed, but rather as the ambient light increases, it becomes more difficult to discern the light from the stars.

How is this applied to speech? This works the same for human speech. As the ambient sound in the room increases, it becomes more challenging to discern an individual’s conversation from across the room. This inability to understand the conversation reduces distractions and increases the speaker’s speech privacy.

Most workplaces today feature more open spaces and smaller, and often shared, workstations. Less sound absorptive materials are being used such as lower or non-existent partitions, hard or glass surfaces, and thinner walls and doors.

Distraction brought about by noise is driving your employees crazy. Its why they put in headphones, or feel the need to shout to be heard by their colleagues. More distraction means less productivity, which essentially means less money!

Confidential and sensitive information is communicated within every workspace in the world on a daily basis. Private meeting rooms do not usually totally eliminate sound transfer, meaning people have to step outside to have a private conversation, or whisper whilst looking over their shoulders.

This creates acoustical challenges that negatively impact workplace satisfaction, productivity, and speech privacy.

05_The Problems It has been proven that noise distraction has a monetary cost to businesses and organisations.

Noise Distractions & Monetary Cost

In a recent study presented to the International Congress of Noise as a Public Health Problem, researchers found that on average employees wasted 21.5 minutes per day due to conversational distractions, making lack of speech privacy the number one cause of reduced productivity. An additional 2014 Steelcase/Ipsos study found that employees lost as much as 86 minutes per day due to noise distractions. Even using conservative estimates, this loss of productivity adds up to big monetary losses for companies. 21.5 minutes daily is roughly 4% of an average employee’s work day (based on an 8 hour day). Some quick math shows that a company with 100 employees and an average employee salary cost of $50,000 is losing $200,000 a year in lost productivity.

Noise Distractions & Productivity

Employees are interrupted once every 11 minutes according to research from UC Irvine, and it takes them up to 23 minutes to get back into the flow of what they were doing before they were interrupted. And its not just interruptions that are a problem… Employees are all too aware of lack of speech privacy within the workspace – so much so, it has been identified as one of the biggest frustrations experienced by staff when evaluating their own workspace.

QtPro uniformly disperses a pre-tuned Humm signal directly into the workspace. The result is a consistent sound throughout the space that is easily achievable without the complex tuning required by indirect systems.

The QtPro system is designed to meet the unique acoustic requirements of a space, whether large or small.

The versatile Qt Emitters are capable of being mounted in any ceiling type.

Qt emitters are easily installed by certified masking professionals in a simple grid pattern, determined by ceiling height. During the layout and design phase, the space is divided into zones based on acoustic requirements of the space. Zones can range from 100 square feet (9.3 m2) to 12,000 square feet (1,115 m2).

In the example below, the office space is separated into six zones, allowing for different volume levels for each unique space.

07_The Qt ProTM Humm System The patented QtPro system is a costeffective solution to protecting speech privacy and reducing distractions. It consists of three simple components; emitters (i.e. loudspeakers), control modules, and cables that connect the emitters to the control modules. The Qt® control modules come in three different sizes depending on the size of the space they cover.

Qt Emitters are powered and controlled by intuitive Qt Control Modules. The modules come in three different sizes depending on the size of the space being masked. A single Qt 600 for example can connect to up to 720 emitters — covering up to 72,000 square feet (6,690 m2) of space.

Qt Emitters are the backbone of the Qt Quiet Technology Humm System. Qt emitters are wide dispersion direct-field speakers with 1.25” (3.17 cm) drivers and are smaller than a coffee mug. These emitters deliver four uncorrelated audio channels, which provide uniform, unobtrusive Humm. This feature, along with easy configuration capability, makes QtPro the most intelligently engineered and most effective Humm system available.

02_Insight: Acoustic Glass Moving Walls Insight is a very special kind of moving wall with maximum transparency and optimum acoustics. The philosophy of precise engineering carries through to the internal mechanisms. Basic panels have extension rods within the frame and the final panel in a run features a telescopic nose in a solid material. Alternatively, an expanding jamb can be specified. Insight from Creatif is the only glass moving wall system to offer a fully glazed pass door, both inset and full-height. The acoustic performance of Insight is a truly remarkable Rw 45db.

This system is designed to improve acoustic comfort and reduce reverberation in areas that suffer from significant noise issues. ReSound can be applied in several ways, the method of application being dependant on the scale of the acoustic issue, the budget and the design intent. 05_Mounting Choices ReSound acoustic panels are attractive, cost-effective and easy-to-install modular tiles that reduce reverberation and vastly improve acoustic comfort. The ideal choice for offices, meeting rooms, call centres, atriums, restaurants, classrooms, school halls, areas utilizing AV, teleconferencing and video conferencing equipment, ReSound can be installed as feature panels or used to cover large wall and ceiling areas. Panels can be installed in multiple ways.

ReSound Wall Panels are hard-wearing, durable and impact resistant which makes them suitable for areas where the panels will be susceptible to being touched.

Acoustic Ceiling Baffles are very effective at absorbing noise due to the apertures between baffles containing sound waves and the extensive surface area of Class A absorbent material soaking up the sound, therefore ensuring it doesn’t bounce back into the space.

Acoustic Ceiling Rafts are a cost-effective way of providing large absorbent surface area. Suspended from above, simple to install – with fixing kits and instructions provided – the rafts can be used in many types of applications such as offices, schools, hospitals, restaurants, retail and leisure.

ReSound can be manipulated to create shapes and sizes unique to a specific design. Our in-house design team are able to create specific solutions that enhance and personalise a space, at the same time as providing the acoustic absorbency levels that ReSound is so well known for.

06_ Wall Panels: Technical Info ReSound acoustic panels offer a fabric faced panel solution for areas where there is an echo and reverberation problem and can be installed in multiple ways. ReSound acoustic wall panels are available in standard size panels and can be manufactured in customised sizes to meet your requirement. ReSound is applied to surfaces with impaling clips and contact adhesive.

Due to the directional weave in our fabrics, it is essential that the height and width dimension of each panel be stated when ordering. Dimensional tolerance of panels: +/- 4mm.

Cleaning »

Light dirt marks may be removed by using a proprietary carpet spot cleaner. A small area should be tested before doing the rest of the area to ensure that the fabric is not adversely affected.

Fire »

ReSound core board has been tested and offers Class O fire rating to BS476: Part 6. Fabric facing complies with Class 1 to BS476: Part 7. Class O fabrics can be supplied on request.

Weight »

Our ReSound panels weigh in at 3.5kg/ m2 for the 25mm thickness panels. 40mm thickness panels weight 4.5kg/m2. Note: All weights are given as approximations.

Cutting »

ReSound panels can be cut with a sharp Stanley knife.

08_ Rafts & Baffles: Technical & Acoustic Info ReSound can be applied as a lightweight acoustic baffle manufactured from high density fibre glass with a white painted speckled finish with excellent sound absorption characteristics. Our baffles come in a standard size of 1200 x 600 x 40mm*. They are frameless by design to offer a pleasing aesthetic alternative to the common suspended ceiling system.
