Independent Project
The Face I imagined certain possible ways of turning a humanlike sculpture into a Chinese god and used an ink brush to draw one of them.
Vulnerability I included what symbolizes my fear into each tear and used these tears to reflect my vulnerability.
I combined the drawing with the sculpture to reflect a transformation.

Cellophane & Marker Pen
Hybrid (Papercutting + Drawing)
Minimalism I experimented with organizing the cellophanes cut into different pieces.
Inspired by Piet Mondrian’s Broadway Boogie-woogie, I used a marker pen to draw some faces and placed cellophanes on top of them.

A Shadow Play I asked my friend to take a picture for me when I was cutting a piece of cellophane and this piece of art was inspired by Peking Opera.
A SHADOW PLAY When I presented my artworks, I intentionally chose different backgrounds because every combination of the background and my artworks resembles a shadow play.
07 Class Project Lights and Shadows

The Window
I designed a window and I cut it from one page of the magazine.
I found two identical magazines and I decided to use the same page from the two magazines to create an artwork.
I put the “window on top of the other page from the other magazine.
09 Independent Project Me
I used the Chinese radicals (a radical is a graphical component of a Chinese character) included in my Chinese name, my photos, and favorite quotes to make these graphic designs in order to showcase my unique personality.
