From the Editor

HELLO DEAR READER! Regina Correa - Designer/Editor

I hope this finds you and your loved ones doing well. It’s hard to believe that 2020 is sixty days away. What a year! I know it's been a tough one for many so, I'm sending out great vibes for a better 2021 in all aspects for everyone. When I pause and look back, I feel nothing but gratitude. No, it wasn't my best year but it could've been a lot worse. So I'm grateful: for my health, family, friends and discernment. I'm also grateful for you who take the time to read The Mag every month. This month's Mindful Thoughts rings very true to me. It talks about the Earth, our connection to Her and how our energy is a contributing factor to Her power. I am more than ever in tune with it. A walk in the park has a deeper meaning. Birds singing feels less trivia but more spiritual. Are you hearing it?

6 WAYS AN INTERIOR DESIGNER COULD ASSIST YOU

S

ince the pandemic started, many have decided to work on specific areas of their homes. This unfortunate event made people realize that either their interiors didn’t support their stay at home needs (be functional and look a lot nicer) or their place was already nice but needed improvement. For some, this may only be rearranging to accommodate sheltering in place necessities (home offices were the top search for months of the pandemic); for others who don’t have the knack for decorating nor the skills of an interior designer, their solution is to seek help to address those needs. Interior designers have been inundated with inquiries since staying at home will be the new norm for the foreseeable future. Furthermore, with travel restrictions in place many have decided to invest in their interiors with the funds they would have spent on vacation. Should you decide to look for help, keep in mind that an interior designer can decorate but a decorator can’t interior design. Don’t get me wrong, I know decorators who are phenomenal at what they do however, the set of skills for each are completely different so choose one that will address your needs properly. There are many ways to change your interiors, but here are six ways an interior designer could assist you with your project.

Consultation - this service usually lasts an hour or two and is usually the least expensive service of an interior designer. During this service, you can have a designer help you with a room or a set of issues you have in your home. A consultation can also be part of the process to decide what service would be best for a client. Before hiring him or her for this service have a chat with them about your needs so they can come prepared to address them; it is helpful if you jot down questions ahead of time and have them ready for the meeting. If you have a variety of issues, make sure to prioritize those that are of more importance to you or the ones that need immediate attention; that way they are addressed first in the consultation. E-Design - this service is interior design done completely online. Electronic design is recommended for those who want a room designed for a fixed price. In a nutshell, the designer makes the selections, creates a document with links to purchase and creates the floor plan; you do all the purchasing, receiving and installing of all the pieces. A common variation is a designer creates the concept board and you find similar pieces to put together the look the designer created for you. 3 | Riche Home and Lifestyle

Packages - similar to electronic design, this service is offered at a fixed price. Usually you are able to select the package that best fits your needs and price point. Select the package that best suits your needs and go from there. Designer on Call - usually sold as blocks of (5,10,15 hours) time, this service is for those who have a knack for decorating but desire the final touch of a designer to complete the look. Once purchased, you schedule calls or visits with the designer to address your specific needs. Examples for this type of service would be someone who is renovating and needs the assistance of a designer on making final selections for the kitchen or bathroom; for the designer to review and provide input on a floor plan, etc...

An interior designer can save you time, money and eliminate costly mistakes.

Designer for a Day - This service is also a fixed price where the designer is alongside you to work with and address your needs within a specific time frame (usually 6-8 hours) on a single day. Some designers sell this service for something specific such as to decorate a room, or to just go shopping with you locally or online, etc... Full Service - this is where you let the designer work their Magic!!! In this service, designers let their creativity flow and create a design that will address your wants and needs for a room or the entire home from concept to installation. There is a process and it takes much longer to complete than the other services due to the level of customization and detail. Some designers charge a flat fee, others charge hourly and some do a combination of both. Always discuss with the designer their pricing structure prior to making a commitment; that way you know and agree on what you are paying for and what you will receive. Finally, no matter which service you choose, always ask the designer to explain what the service you’re interested in entails. Most designers offer a complimentary “discovery call, where they will chat with you to identify your needs, answer your questions as well as explain their design process. There are several ways an interior designer can help you each with different levels of service. There is always a service that will fulfill your needs; from small projects such as selecting color during a consultation to helping you build a new home. Most importantly, a professionally trained interior designer can save you time, money and eliminate costly mistakes. 4 | Riche Home and Lifestyle

Highlights Known as the largest furniture market in the world, the Hight Point Market takes place in the Spring and Fall. That is where designers learn of trends and new furniture introductions and collections. It was cancelled last Spring due to the pandemic, but this Fall it went on with enhanced safety measures for those who have decided to attend. I attended it virtually and below are my highlights. You'll find a lot more images in my instagram page. Enjoy!

Earth & Creation

"The Earth has music for those who listen." Shakespeare You are connected to this planet, a part of nature's network. Your energy contributes to the power of the Earth. Today, think of the ways you can strengthen your connection with nature. What do you see when you go outside? Each moment spent amidst al the beautiful things God has created will reveal endless lessons. Flowers, trees, birds, bugs are all mighty teachers. How can you sit by an ocean and not be moved? The ebb and flow the sound of the waves coming in, crashing against the shoe. Think about the perfect balance of the earth and the gravity and physics that makes this possible, Never failing and constant. Remarkable. I heard once that if the Earth moved just a fraction off of its axis, the oceans would become tsunamis, weather patterns would go crazy. There would be a significant loss of life, When you meditate on how everything remains in exact balance since the universe was created, there is a massive object lesson in the faithfulness and perfection of our Creator. What is set in place will remain - period. You are fearfully and wonderfully made just like the Earth. Inside of you is everything you need to be who you were created to be. You lack nothing, no matter how it looks. You are fully equipped. Some things may need to be discovered, but that is the journey of life. Finding all of your hidden treasures are what makes life joyful and frees you from just existing. So, my Soul Sayers friends, go outside! Bask in the sun, take walks, hikes, swim, visit new places. And while you're doing that, shed heavy thoughts, doubts, feelings that weigh you down. Find your playful self. Embrace being carefree without gilt or worry. Use the sunlight, physically and spiritually, to bring yourself back to balance. The way to minister to your inside it is to go outside! Mantra: I am God's handwork Connected to the earth and the universe I am part of the vast expanse Beautiful and infinite I lack nothing, everything I need has been provided I am linked to the Divine Power I am a Child of Light SACREDMORNINGS|ŠSOULSAYERS,LLC 8 | Riche Home and Lifestyle
