The Diocesan Youth & Young Adult Board met on Saturday, August 15, at St. John the Apostle & Evangelist. The meeting involved: fine-tuning plans for the upcoming Aloha Week Parade and State Youth & Young Adult Rally to be held on September 26; and reviewing plans for Respect Life Sunday, Damien Canonization & Relic Activities and December Workshop. We are happy to announce that for the Parade, so far we have 100+ hula dancers and 400+ marchers (our goal is 1000 so please encourage your youth to participate). Donations being sought from each Parish to help with the Parade: 2 cases of bottled water, leis for their youth to wear, and white orchids for the float. This year, the Youth are not being charged the usual $10 admission to attend the Rally which will honor Blessed Damien. However to cover some of the expenses, we are turning the Parishes for help. Checks can be made out to Roman Catholic Church and be mailed to Holy Trinity Parish (please note on the check for State Youth & Young Adult Rally). For more information contact your Youth & Young Adult Vicariate Coordinator.
