Spring clean your wardrobe

Hey, It’s Mollie here... I am so happy to be continuing my role as Fashion Editor for Rochdale Style Magazine and I am here to share my personal favorite tips and tricks to guarantee your spring wardrobe will be boosting your mood, confidence and style credentials for the season ahead.

The mood this season is one of real optimism after spending the last two summers in the UK with not a whole lot of sunshine, it’s no exaggeration to say we are owed one amazing summer.

With normality also becoming a reality, we are all tentatively awaiting our summer holidays.

The fashion outlook for spring and summer is that there is a time and place to be extra fabulous but still a strong demand for easy and casual looks.

FOUR KEY WAYS TO REFRESH YOUR WARDROBE FOR SPRING/SUMMER

BOLD COLUMN OF COLOUR

Bright, bold and brave colours are here to stay, as we embrace unique prints and eclectic colours more than ever before. We are of course backing anything positive and adventurous that will make you feel good from the inside out.

Green is one of the key bold colours for SS22, green is unlike any other colour, it’s fun, rich and pretty! No more waiting for Christmas to pull out your green dresses, this trend is here now!

Pink is also another key colour for SS22, all shades of pink are making a feature this spring/summer but more so, candy and fuschia pink; it’s feminine, girly and romantic!

HYPER FEMININE

This trend is perfect for all the women who want to feel more feminine and sophisticated, regardless of body traits there is something for everyone in this trend. From feminine fabrics and pretty pink hues, it's super easy to jump onto the trend right now. If you are a little apprehensive to jump onto this trend, firstly dip your toe into the water with trying some new accessories.

INVEST IN JEANS

Even though we are heading into spring/ summer, we all know how unpredictable the British summer weather can be. Having a staple pair of jeans is a must to team with all your tee’s and blouses. I would recommend investing in a pair of mid-wash and light blue jeans, this can either be skinny or mom jeans just whichever you feel more comfortable in. This is also the perfect opportunity to combine the bold colour trend, by investing in a block colour pair of jeans i.e a bright green pair of mom jeans would be completely on trend this spring/summer.

BOHEMIAN

It should come as no surprise that in the age of escapism we’re living in, bohemian is becoming increasingly popular again. This year's desire for clothes and accessories that feel inspired from the most exotic holiday locations featuring detailing, rich colours and tactile fabrics. I recommend trying a floral maxi dress made of lightweight fabric, perfect for holidays or to layer day to day with a denim jacket and your white trainers. Alternatively If you are not a dress person, you can also easily follow this trend with a blouse or skirt.

MY PERSONAL TOP TIPS

This is the perfect time of year for a spring clear out and wardrobe re-fresh! This way you can clearly see what you need or would like for the season ahead. Lastly, shop small, shop happy.
