TV legends set to star in this year's Middleton panto

In association with Shone Productions, Middleton Arena has announced its beloved Christmas panto is returning for yet another year; and this festive season the audience can expect Fee-FiFo-FUN at Jack and the Beanstalk.

As tradition, the venue boasts an illustrious cast with famous faces from across the entertainment industry, including a well-known TV duo who have stood the test of time and are celebrating 75 years on the scene.

Join the protagonist Jack, played by ‘BBC Pitch Battle’ finalist Joe McEvoy, his mother Dame Trott, played by the hilarious Danny Jay, and his brother Silly Billy, played by comedian David Drewitt, as they embark on a journey to try and defeat the evil Fleshcreep, played by ‘Hollyoaks’ Star David Tag (in performances from 16th December), and his master, the Giant.

This year will also welcome special guest appearances from the iconic British duo, Sooty and Sweep, who will be playing themselves in the festive performances. The pair are celebrating a legendary birthday this year of 75 years in the entertainment industry, with a UK tour planned on the lead up to the Middleton Arena show.

Sooty was unable to comment but Sweep had this to say: "Squeak squeak squeak, squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak."

This magical pantomime, based on the renowned folktales, promises beautiful scenery, colourful costumes, incredible special effects, and endless laughter.

Heather Booth from Middleton Arena said, "We’re sure our star-studded cast will create a wonderous experience for all the family, so come along and join us this winter for a truly unforgettable show."

Jack and the Beanstalk will run from Monday 27th November until Friday 29th December with matinee and evening performances, as well as early morning slots during the week and weekends for younger children and families. Ticket prices start from £16.50.
