Fashion: What's your Style Personality?

Hey, Mollie here, the owner and founder of Pretty Parade, women’s boutiques. More recently, I have started my journey as a certified Personal Stylist!

For this feature, I thought I would do something a little different with you all. We often hear about knowing and dressing for your body shape, but we rarely hear about knowing and dressing for your style personality. So today I am here to give you a little glimpse into the different personality styles!

A style personality enables you to express yourself through the clothes you wear. You may be just one style personality or you may be a mix depending on your mood or occasion. Nonetheless you will most likely have a dominant style personality and while fashion changes season to season, true style personality will likely stay the same.

THE SIX STYLE PERSONALITY’S:

CLASSIC STYLE PERSONALITY

Chic, elegant, well put together and rarely under the influence of fashion. Her colour palette tends to consist of many neutrals, including black, grey, navy, beige and white, and mostly she doesn’t like her clothes to shout.

Wardrobe Heroes: Blazer, Shirt Dress, Loafers

CREATIVE STYLE PERSONALITY

Showcases her creativity and her preference for unconventional fashion. She loves to combine different styles and will use unusual prints with striking colours. Her style can represent various elements of fashion - rock glam, quirky, artsy, vintage across decades.

Wardrobe Heroes: Slogan Tee’s, Detailed Clothing, High Shine PVC

NATURAL STYLE PERSONALITY

The easy-going girl next door, who will always choose comfortable, easy to maintain clothing with a natural, informal or beach look. She prefers light tailoring, not too many details or accessories. Her colour choices are usually inspired by a natural palette. Wardrobe Heroes: Birkinstocks, Soft Knits, Cami Dresses

URBAN/CASUAL STYLE PERSONALITY

Continuously evolving. She tends to be influenced by sub-culture rather than major trends. She makes feeling comfortable a priority. She will lean towards blacks, khakis, neutrals and white with pops of colour.

Wardrobe Heroes: Oversized dresses, Investment Sneakers, Denim

ROMANTIC STYLE PERSONALITY

Feminine and charming in her appearance, vocal in her adoration for everything pretty. Her overall appearance is soft and girly, with ladylike elements, anything with whimsical girly details, including ruffles, lace, pleats and florals.

Wardrobe Heroes: Denim, Floral Dresses, Ruffle Maxi Skirts, Headbands

DRAMATIC STYLE PERSONALITY

Likes to make an entrance and be noticed. She is glamorous, and confident. She likes to create drama in her looks, and is drawn to strong statement prints and vibrant, deep and intense colours. Practicality is not her priority.

Wardrobe Heroes: Structured Garments, Glam Shoes, Bold Jewellery
