health, lean mass and body fat; KORR Metacheck, which measures the body’s metabolic rate and FibroScan, which provides readings for liver fat.
Customized plans are offered in three main areas: Weight Management, Urinary Incontinence and Fitness. Weight management clients receive a personalized plan based on their body composition. It includes an RMR test that tells them how many calories they need to be consuming to achieve their weight loss goals. The plan seeks to reduce body fat while limiting muscle loss, and progress is monitored to see how much fat is being lost as opposed to just weight. Ongoing support from the certified obesity counsellors, obesity medicine doctor and registered dietician contributes to client success stories.
Urinary incontinence is treated with Emsella, a device used to help those who suffer from urinary incontinence caused by weakening of the pelvic floor muscles due to childbirth, menopause or aging.
“Emsella uses high intensity focused electromagnetic technology to stimulate the entire pelvic floor,” Elliott explains. “A treatment takes 28 minutes and you don’t even have to take off your clothes. Six sessions over three weeks strengthens the pelvic floor muscles. No more worries about coughing, sneezing or running.”
“This particular treatment is geared toward women whose quality of life is affected by incontinence but can also help increase sexual satisfaction,” Henderson adds. “A stronger pelvic floor improves blood flow, which improves their confidence and helps them enjoy a more satisfying sexual experience.”
Body Measure has added two new treatments targeting the 35-65 age group: Emsculpt Neo helps build muscle and destroys fat; and Thermage, a skin tightening procedure, decreases fine lines and smooths skin.
“Through intense electromagnetic energy along with radio frequency, Emsculpt Neo can decrease body fat on average by 30 percent, and increase muscle by 25 percent,” Henderson says. “It can target problem areas such as abs, glutes and thighs. And there’s zero down time.”
Sessions take only 30 minutes; with four to six sessions recommended 5 to 10 days apart. Tangible results can be seen after the sessions.
Thermage reduces fine lines and wrinkles and loose skin on the face, around the eyes and any other area of the body. The treatment increases collagen production for up to six months, so a single treatment can smooth and tighten skin anywhere on your body, including arms and stomach. “Because it builds collagen, additional treatments aren’t required for a year or two,” Henderson points out.
