Liz Taylor is an inspirational single mum, from Manchester, who became the leading event planner for the rich and famous. Liz is giving us an insight in what it is like being a successful entrepreneur and all while juggling motherhood.

What does your typical day look like?

Nothing in my day is typical. Generally, though, it starts at 7am with my bike. Post knee injury I cant use the treadmill but exercise first thing is my thinking space and many a crazy idea has been brought to life on that morning burst of energy! Then I embark on clearing the emails that my insomniac clients and international suppliers have sent me through the night.

A quick hello and a sugar free latte from Café Nero in town and I’m into my central Manchester office. The chaos ensues! The phones ring hot and the inbox explodes into life. Yes, I am megabusy! Most days I’ll have meetings, zooms and facetimes, interrupted at noon for my ritual of speaking to my grandchildren in the USA. Often midday is a menu tasting with clients or talking business with contacts over lunch. The afternoon sees me interacting and immersive with my team. I’m planning meetings with florists or lighting technicians and doing the creative magic that I love. I try to wind down around 5pm and head home before rush hour.

It’s a quick change and then either heading out for dinner with a select inner circle or watching Coronation Street. I know!! Of course, if we have an event that night, 5pm sees me heading off to a venue. An update with my events director and putting the final touches to a corporate dinner or party, Success complete – it’s an uber home at 1am.

Who was your favourite client that you've worked with? And what was the event for?

That’s impossible to answer. I have worked with some incredible people – from blushing brides to sports stars, music icons and a host of business and political leaders.
