Block Schedule
The St. Ursula Academy graduate is prepared to learn, has the ability to lead, is ready to serve, is eager to witness, and is committed to faith. She is ready to assume the roles that she must play in the world: thinker, leader, nurturer and prophet.
St. Ursula Academy adopted a four-bell block schedule beginning with the 19992000 school year. Each term, students have four 80-minute classes. Full credit courses are completed in one semester, and half credit courses are completed in one term with the exception of some AP courses, which are 3 terms in length.
Educational Services Program Approximately 15% of the students at St. Ursula Academy participate in the Educational Services Program for students with learning disabilities and AD/HD where they are completely mainstreamed within the college-preparatory, Honors and AP curriculum. Most students in the ES Program benefit from an Academic Tutoring bell during their school day. Students are awarded .25 credits each semester for successfully completing their Academic Tutoring requirements.

GPA and Class Rank Due to our challenging college-preparatory curriculum and the relatively small size of our senior class, St. Ursula Academy DOES NOT RANK students numerically. We believe that number is often misleading since small differences in grade point averages can produce significant differences in rank.
Grading The following alpha system is used at the Academy. The numeric equivalents are given for comparison purposes. Numeric Grade College Honors Symbol Point Prep Value 97-100 A+ 4.33 4.83 93-96 A 4.00 4.50 90-92 A- 3.67 4.17 87-89 B+ 3.34 3.84 83-86 B 3.00 3.50 80-82 B- 2.67 3.17 77-79 C+ 2.34 2.84 73-76 C 2.00 2.50 70-72 C- 1.67 2.17 68-69 D+ 1.34 1.84 65-67 D 1.00 1.50 64-0 F 0.00 0.00
