Dear partygoers! Welcome to the 2014 SUA SnowBall! We are thrilled to be able to share this evening with you and hope that you will enjoy this great opportunity to build community and support the mission of this historic school. Tonight’s theme started as a simple idea that is now bigger than life thanks to months of creative collaboration among our dedicated volunteers and staff. Tonight we celebrate their creativity and commitment which we hope was a labor of love. So many friends of St. Ursula have devoted an enormous amount of time, talent, and treasure, to make this evening possible. In one of her counsels, St. Angela Merici encourages the members of her Company to be happy together. Under the leadership of this year’s chair couple, Lisa and Andy Castellini, the members of the various committees spent many hours over many months preparing for this evening. We are grateful to all of them; not only for their humor but their undying dedication to our students at St. Ursula Academy. As we come together to celebrate the mission of St. Ursula Academy, thank you for sharing your treasures to ensure SUA will continue educating women of faith, integrity and courage for generations to come. We are sincerely appreciative of your loyalty and continued support of St. Ursula Academy.

Gratefully,

Lelia Keefe Kramer ’77 President

Important Tax Information

The IRS requires that charitable organizations, such as St. Ursula Academy, inform contributors about the deductibility of payments & donations made by patrons for fundraising activities. The following are guidelines, provided to assist in your tax preparation. 1. Dinner Tickets – The cost of each dinner ticket is tax deductible to the extent it exceeds the fair market value of the meal, which is $50.00. 2. Gifts purchased at the SUA Ball are deductible for the amounts paid in excess of the fair market value of each gift. 3. Cash contributions – 100% deductible. For contributions of $250 or more a written receipt is required. 4. Gift contributions – 100% deductible. For non-cash property donations, it is advised that you consult your tax professional, since the IRS has specific requirements for filing which may apply to you (i.e. an official appraisal is warranted if the value of an item exceeds $5,000 & is not a publicly traded security). 5. Raffle Tickets - Not Deductible. 6. The Auction “Check Out” form should serve as your official receipt of items purchased at the SUA Ball. The value set for each item is a “good faith estimate,” as required by the IRS. You may deduct only what is paid in excess of each gift’s fair market value.
