I took inspiration from ancient Aztec tribe motifs. Tribal design being my favorite printing field. I fused geometric patterns with these tribal motifs to develop the following print patterns.

GEO-TRIBES
i n s p i r a t i o n
MOOD BOARD Aztec culture , also known as Mexica culture, was a Mesoamerican culture that flourished in central Mexico in the postclassic period from 1300 to 1521, during the time in which a triple alliance of the Mexica, Texcoca and Tepaneca tribes established the Aztec empire. I was inspired from the tools, weapons and artifacts used by these AZTEC tribe people to do there day-to-day work. The instruments which were used, believed on and worshiped by them.

DARK WONDER & IMPERIAL
DIRECTIONS MOST IMPORTANT DIRECTIONS THAT WILL IMPACT THE MENSWEAR FASHION MARKET
NEO CLASSICS WORLDHOOD DARK WONDER HUMANATURE CAMPUS DISRUPT IMPERIAL
KEY WORDS
DARK WONDER
URBAN - SPORT - TECHNICAL - FUNCTIONAL - CRAFTED
THEME Dark Wonder sees sportswear become more extreme and with focus on function and silhoutte. utility styles reference obscure subcultres and 1990s designers such as HELMU LANG and RAF SIMONS. Clothes that feel special become a want, instead of a gap fullfilling need.
IMPERIAL
REBELLIOUS - DECORATED - RICH - URBAN - UTILITARIAN
THEME The Gucci style influence galvanises comercial appeal for dandy brocades, ornate floral embroidery and brighter tones. An intellectual approach to rebel uniforms re-examines past dress codes to subvert modern ones. Oversized shapes and deconstruction convey a punk attitude.
Camoflage design manipulation
The following patterns holds a specific quality of getting repeated easily as its’ edges have been developed and placed in such a way that the left side of the unit design matches with the right side and the top matches with the bottom .

A collection inspired from an ancient traditional japanese art form known as TSUTSUGAKI ART in which all the all the motifs are hand printed.

TSUTSUGAKI ART
Inspiration
Tsutsugaki is a Japanese technique of resist dyeing that involves drawing rice-paste designs on cloth, dyeing the cloth, and then washing off the paste. The rice paste is typically made from sweet rice, which has a high starch content and is therefore rather sticky. The paste is applied through a tube similar to the tubes which are used by bakers to decorate cakes. A related process is to apply the paste through a stencil; that is called katazomeThe cloth is typically cotton, and the dye is typically indigo, so the design is usually white on blue. Banners for shops or other purposes are sometimes made in this manner.
MOOD BOARD
'Tsutsu' means tube and 'kaki' is from the verb 'kaku' which means draw. This technique of applying the resist is just like that used for putting creamy decorations on cakes or cookies. In the photo just above Kanji characters have been drawn by this method and are being dried before dyeing.
