Environmentally conscious material

New cotton material can now be produced by recycling waste product from the textile industry (pre-consumer) or from discarded consumer textiles (post-consumer). This process often combines different raw materials to create something new. Worn textiles are sorted and stripped of buttons, zips and labels. It is then machine processed until only fibres remain. This is mixed with a small percentage of virgin organic cotton or polyester. After processing, strong yarns are spun from these fibres. The production process is much more environmentally friendly than that of traditional cotton: no agricultural land, no insecticides, less use of water and energy. Choosing products made from this material is a conscious choice
