The Sub Sports story Kitting-up for exercise has always been something of an art form in Britain. We’d know; we've been getting soaked, sizzled and frozen on North Yorkshire’s sports fields for decades!

In fact, it was this challenge of knowing what to wear in such unpredictable weather (and some very cold cricket matches!) that inspired our founder, Steve, to start the company.

Our first baselayer

The future

Quick to recognise the enormous benefits of new moisture-wicking fabrics and compression technology, Steve sought to combine these elements in a garment designed specifically for varied climates such as ours. What’s more, he was determined to make this new technology available to everyone, providing it at a price that the vast majority of amateur athletes could afford.

A lot’s happened since then. We’ve since launched a bunch of new ranges, started selling around the world, and, most importantly, we’ve created thousands of happy Sub-lings.

After a relentless winter of research, development and fine-tuning, we sold our first Sub Dual baselayer in Autumn 2008. Sub Sports was born.

As we continue to grow, we’re striving harder than ever to give our customers the very best baselayers and customer service. Whether it’s refining our garments inline with technical research, or developing new ranges based on customer suggestions, providing you with outstanding value is our paramount concern.

Tested to fit When it comes to compression, fit is everything. That’s why we’ve teamed up with Progressive Sports Technology at Loughborough University to develop our latest range of compression garments.

Their findings have enabled us to develop baselayers that truly work in harmony with your body, providing targeted compression to those areas where your blood flow is at its slowest.

Across all our ranges we only use high-grade fabrics that we’re confident will stand up to intense use, and will hold their fit, wash-after-wash.

All our garments also use flatlock stitching, whose strong yet flexible properties create garments with superb comfort and durability.

Dryness as standard When you get hot… you sweat. Moisture evaporating from the skin has a cooling effect, hence sweating during exercise is the body’s way of keeping itself cool and maintaining an optimal performance temperature.

We have sought to enhance this process (and your performance) by incorporating the latest moisturewicking fabrics into our baselayers.

Their fast transport systems increase the efficiency with which sweat is moved away from your skin and into the atmosphere, helping you to stay dry, comfortable and ready to perform.
