WILTSHIRE COLLEGE SALISBURY FOOTBALL TEAM KICKS OFF... Adam Watts, Student Rep for Wiltshire College Salisbury & Chairman of St Marys Football Club, talks us through the formation of their own football team.. "This term myself and the rest of us here at Wiltshire College have been extremely lucky to work in conjecture with SUBU in starting up a 11-a-side football team for our HE students. This is something that has never been done before here in Salisbury and is something we have received a
lot of support for. Kerry and the team have been a massive help, particularly in securing us a kit of the highest quality for when we finally got underway. So far we’ve had our trial game for all the guys but the unpredictable weather this last month has meant we will officially christen the team and our kit until Wednesday January 7th 2015 against Laverstock and Ford football club so keep an eye out for us!

LEAH MOGER
LINK REP FROM UNIVERSITY CENTRE YEOVIL
The new kit ready for the new season...
What’s the best thing about studying at your Partner College? Being in a smaller college I find support is more tailored to individual needs and lectures have slightly more time to accommodate students. Also peer groups can become closer through smaller lectures/seminars which gives a more personal feel to university life.
There are one or two Link Reps for each Partner College; their role is to represent the students and Student Reps at their Partner College and act as a SUBU representative for those students. FULL-TIME OFFICER UPDATES Since they came into office in June, your Full Time Officers have been working hard to improve the experience of every student here at Bournemouth University.
S
ince coming into the role Chloe Schendel-Wilson, SUBU President, has helped the clubs and societies of BU expand. She organised a ‘Lets Go’ Fair, a week allowing the societies to showcase themselves and recruit new members. In addition to this she has been working closely with the Green Task Force to ensure SUBU become more environmental in their work. During the first term, Ellie Mayo Ward, your VP Education, has assisted in the training of course reps. She also organised Speak Week, a week of events finding out what you the students think of how the University is run. Reece Pope, VP Welfare, signed a ‘Time to Change’ pledge in October. This shows SUBU and BU won’t discriminate against anyone who may have a mental health
issue. He has also been working hard to improve the bus services, as well as implementing the ‘safe space policy’. Finally at the Lansdowne Campus Peter Briant has helped improve the representation of Lansdowne Students. He has increased the number of Lansdowne students taking part in volunteering opportunities, and ensured placement support is on offer for HSC students. This is just some of the great work our Full Time Officers have done so far this year. You can get in touch with the Full-Time Officers on Twitter: @SubuPresident, @SubuEducation, @SUBULansdowne, @SUBUWelfare, Or come up and see them in the SUBU Office.
