Discipline in School and its effects in Learning and Performance of the Students

“Walkie Talkie” is a portable twoway radio, more formally known as a handheld transceiver, used to communicate wirelessly using radio waves on a single shared frequency band. On the other hand, Malunsagay Integrated School is one of farthest schools in Claveria Northeast District, Schools division of Misamis Oriental. Communication is one of the challenges of this school due to its geographic location that is far from the metropolis. The teachers, parents, stakeholders, villagers, and the whole community find hard to communicate through the use of technology because of no source electricity and unreachable site of telecommunications. Constant monitoring to the learners, most especially those who need more supervision on their academic status and learning progress is really a challenge among the teachers. Also, there is a gap in reaching and establishing rapport to the parents and the stakeholders due to this Furthermore, issue. dealing and collaborating with the community leaders is also being affected due to unreachable site of communications. The communication between the school administration and the teachers with these people is done by means of actual conversation. And so, during emergency situation, it’s undeniable that there is a difficulty in disseminating information and asking quick Thisresponse.isthe scenario that the school and the whole community bare for quiet long. The school administration initiated a solution by means of solicitation and asked for help from a good friend to address this issue. Fortunately, there was a good response received from the said person and wholeheartedly donated twenty (20) pieces of “walkie talkie” amounting to ten thousand pesos (Php10,000.00). Ten of these items were utilized by the teachers and another ten were used by the leaders of the community. Thank God for this act of benevolence. At least, there is now an ease of communication problem to the community. For this cause, the numbers of “walkie talkie” serve as the communication facilities for the day-to-day basis of the folks and the teachers. There is now a better connection that addresses the issue on the communication gap among the teachers, learners, parents, stakeholders and to the community as a whole.

DAVAO City – At least 180 corn farmers in the Davao del Sur town of Matanao benefited from a P540,000 fuel subsidy extended by the Department of Agriculture (DA) 11 (Davao region), an official said Thursday. Discipline is a crucial element in keeping children in schools safe and on track. Effective school management techniques aid in the decision-making and academic attention of students. Students need to be disciplined in order to make significant academic progress. In addition to helping to address the behavioral, social, and emotional requirements of the kids as they grow and develop, discipline is employed in schools to keep students, teachers, and other staff members safe. Schools have many methods for dealing with discipline, and the intensity of the punishment usually corresponds to how serious the offense was. By imposing consequences on students who behave inappropriately, school discipline aims to teach kids how to behave properly. For instance, a pupil who doesn't pay attention in class would have to make up missed information during recess. A pupil can stop the behavior in the future with the aid of discipline. The fact that discipline in schools improves academic performance is one of the main justifications for placing a high focus on it. Academic exam results are often better for students who understand that they are responsible for their behavior both inside and outside of the classroom. Discipline in the classroom helps keep students focused on their work while they are with the teacher, reducing interruptions and enhancing the flow of information. The other goal of school discipline is to create a learning environment that benefits all students. By putting an end to behaviors that are not conducive to learning, teachers and administrators are able to create classrooms that are ideal for the educational needs of the children in the school.Effective use of school discipline depends on parents' willingness to support the administration's decisions and assist their children in developing appropriate school behavior. In order to prepare themselves and their children for what to expect, parents should take the time to learn about the forms of discipline that are utilized at their child's school. Parents should be aware that although the rules at school may differ from those at home, children are still expected to abide by them while in the classroom. The best chance of producing successful pupils who behave appropriately in school and don't require a lot of discipline is for parents to work together with the school.

The Sounds of Silence Think a minute . . . ”People would be happier if they were as good at silence as they are at speaking.” Studies have shown that constant noise is one of the biggest causes of our daily stress. “Silence is golden because there is so little of it.” Many of us don’t even realize how noisy our daily life is, and how it is robbing our peace of mind, family harmony, and health. The problem is we have become so accustomed, even addicted, to continually hearing some kind of noise—whether it’s talking, news, music, television, the telephone, videos, and other sounds. In fact, many of us simply are not comfortable with silence. Even when we go away on holiday to relax, we still take our smart phone, iPad, laptop, or we watch TV in the hotel room. As someone said: “People today are in such a hurry that we hate to miss one panel of a revolving door.” Sadly, we lose some of the best things in life because they are found only in the “sound of silence.” In silence we can think of what we need to improve and change in our life, our family, our job and career, and our own personal character. Silence helps us think clearly so we can set goals and understand our life’s purpose. Yet silence can also give us time and freedom not to think at all, but enjoy life’s simple pleasures—like the waves of the ocean, the color and fragrance of flowers, a gentle breeze, or a beautiful sunset. It’s in these peaceful, powerful moments of silence that we can appreciate our beautiful world and begin to understand where we fit in it.It’s only when we are quiet that we can begin to clearly hear and understand the feelings of those we love and THINK A WE, of course, are told that nothing is new under the sun. (cfr. Ecc 1,9) But neither can we deny that times are changing, the world is evolving, developments continue to take place, and at these times, they come quite rapidly. And so, we also have to make certain adaptations in the way we keep and nourish our spiritual life. We are reminded of this need in that parable of the 10 virgins. (cfr. Mt 25,1-13) We should not take this need for granted. We have to continually update and upgrade our vigilance skills. Worries, doubts, and anxieties are a normal part of life. It’s natural to worry about an unpaid bill, an upcoming job interview, or a first date. But “normal” worry be comes excessive when it’s persistent and uncontrol lable. You worry every day about “what ifs” and worst-case scenarios, you can’t get anxious thoughts out of your head, and it interferes with your daily life.

Undue Care and Anxiety We hardly count our blessings. We enjoy counting our crosses. In stead of gains, we count our losses. We don't have to do all that countingcomputers do it for us. Information is easily had.Just remember this: Opportunity doesn't just knock - it jiggles the doorknob, and "your friend" - the worrier, is with you day and night, at every corner, following your every step. Com plaining and grumbling are good excuses, aren't they? We have time and opportunities to do al most anything. So why haven't we done it? We have the freedom of bondage or restraint, every one of us in his or her very special way - but, we're still our old inferior selves. The overbearing per son, who tyrannizes the weak, the person, who wants to domineer and to bluster, is simply noth ing else than a worrier, who might claim to be a friend. But he isn't! Really not! The bully ing of fellow citizens by means of dread and fright has been going on since Paleolithic times. The night wolf is eating the moon. Give me silver, and I'll make him spit out.Well, when will we start counting our cour age and not our fears, or enjoy instead our woes? Worrying itself is pointless. Of course, no society has achieved perfect rules of law, nev er-ending education or unique responsible gov ernments. “The Philippine Department of Trade and Industry is aggressively pursuing partnerships with export enablers, such as Andalin that can provide digital turnkey services to our exporters, from searching potential buyers to providing shipping and payment options, and that can serve as catalysts in deepening Philippine participation in global value chains," said DTIEMB Supervising Assistant Secretary Glenn Peñaranda. In a forum in Singapore last month, Andalin launched the Andalin Trade which aims to provide a secure and seamless digital process for international traders.Asean countries like Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam have already partnered with"AndalinAndalin.

Trade enables international trade buyers and sellers to connect easily and safely on our platform in a more safe, transparent, and efficient way. Buyers and sellers can join Andalin Trade for free; they only need to pass a strict selection and verification system to ensure all parties can maximize the platform as much as possible," Andalin chief executive officer Rifki Pratomo said. Data from the Philippine Statistics Authority showed that the country’s trade within Asean for the first half of 2022 reached $24.03 billion, with $19.58 billion in imports and $4.45 billion in exports. Our Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau (FTEB) conducts weekly monitoring to check the prices and supplies of BNPCs. This serves as the basis for the issuance of SRP,” Pascual said. For some stock keeping units (SKUs) with prices above SRP, especially during calamities, the DTI issues letters of inquiry (LOI) to concerned establishments giving them the opportunity to explain.Showcause orders are also issued to supermarkets and groceries selling goods priced over 10 percent from the monitored price, which is a prima facie evidence of profiteering.Meanwhile, the Price Act places an automatic price freeze of basic necessities over areas where there is a declared state of calamity or emergency.FromJan. 1, 2020 to July 7, 2022, nine administrative cases have already been filed against firms that violated the DTI price freeze orders. The President may also impose a price ceiling on any basic necessity or prime commodity, which may be monitored by an appointed agency.“We would like to ensure the public that DTI will continue to champion consumer protection. Through our provincial and regional offices, we will continue to conduct regular price and supply monitoring and will also cooperate with other government agencies to ensure that Filipinos will have access to affordable goods and services,” Pascual said. CHILDREN who wish to succeed in academe (or whose parents wish them to do so) may need to start competing at a very young age for places in prestigious schools. To be accepted at a renowned university, one needs to have attended a prominent secondary school. To be accepted at that secondary school, one needs to have attended a good elementary school. To be accepted at that elementary school, one needs to have attended kindergarten that adequately prepares children for rigorous study. In a society in which the highest paid and most prestigious jobs almost always go to graduates of certain universities, the position one holds at age 60 may have less to do with one’s performance when 40 or 50 years old than it does with one’s ability to pass examinations at four or five years old. With the future of their children at stake, parents push their children young as two or three to achieve high results. Schools develop curricula to meet these demands. Textbook publishers take advantages of these favorable market conditions. Both schools and business encourage competition as selection criteria. All this results in an increased level of stress for children from preschool age through university.

“Our network rollout momentum continues, and it is faster. We accomplished about 70 percent more than in the same period last year. We are very positive that we can set a new build record this 2022,” Agustin said. “All our efforts are not only aimed to elevate the standard of connectivity within the Philippines, but equally important, this continued drive will deliver a consistent level of quality,” he said. On Aug. 12, Globe announced its plans to sell and more than 7,000 of its towers across the country to various tower companies to raise capital. New Normal Initiatives in Modular Distance Learning

Going to school is the best public policy tool available to raise every individual skill. While school time can be fun and can raise social skills and social awareness, it also increases a child’s ability to learn. But can we estimate how much COVID-19 affects learning? The community lockdown and no face-toface instruction can cause interruption, in students’ learning. While teachers have practiced selfcare in a multitude of ways as they were forced to adjust to worknewschedules, and most of the activities were trimmed down and if not converted into a virtual setup. Managing operationsschool and resources during a pandemic is quite challenging, especially since you need to highlight the effectiveness, efficiency, and fairness in discharging functions toward maximizing organizational health in times of pandemics. Proper organizing and planning were conducted to come up with the right and suitable decisions for the learners being the center of the educative process. The teaching and learning process assumes a different shape in times of Wecrisis.need to be resilient and find new options for education to continue. For City Central School, we successfully migrated our teachinglearning process from faceto-face to remote learning modalities. The challenges abovementionedwereproperly addressed with utmost positivity, flexibility, and resiliency. The school was able to empower teachersthe and other school personnel in sustaining effective management based on the needs of the school. excellentOur teamwork and collaboration with all the teachers, parents, and stakeholders have contributed much achievingto the BE-LCP implementation beyond expectation for COVID 19. Despite enduring many concerningupheavals the life-altering threat that is Covid-19, we remain to be resilient. Education and COVID 19 PandemicA Personal Reflection

I have encountered challenges in the implementation of Modular Distance Learning like difficulty in reaching out to learners who do not have gadgets, providing feedback on their performance, and the unfinished modules submitted. With these concerns, I have implemented a few initiatives like modifying learning activity sheets that are most suited to those who struggle in learning the competencies or could not completely study their Self-Learning Modules (SLMs) through Project WIN (Worksheets Initiative in the New Normal), providing simple tips to stay safe through Project 4Cs (Complete Gears, Avoid Crowded, Closed, and Close Contact), and assisting learners to embrace change and cope with the performance tasks through Project SECURED (Saving and Educating Children with the Use of Relevant MatErials of TheseCOVID-19).initiatives were undertaken to keep learners overcome and develop resiliency, feel safe and complete every day, secure with their daily experience in the remote learning journey, and copiously succeed the entire School Year.

Secretary, in a news release on Wednesday, called the BoC’s action in Maramag a raid versus hoarders ordered by President Ferdinand Marcos,RepublicJr. Act 7581 says hoarding occurs when “a person has stocks of any basic necessity or prime commodity fifty percent higher than his usual inventory and Product...unreasonably from page 1 limits, refuses or fails to sell the same to the general public at the time of discovery of the excess. The determination of a person’s usual inventory shall be reckoned from the third month immediately preceding before the discovery of the stocks in case the person has been engaged in the business for at least three months; otherwise, it shall be reckoned from the time he started his business.”The law includes sugar as one of the basic necessities.Sagarbarria said Crystal Sugar operates a milling plant in Maramag town, one of the two sugar milling plants in Bukidnon. “We are a milling company not a marketing firm. Naturally, we produce millions of sacks a year,” Sagarbarria said. He said the total sugar production of Crystal Sugar is divided between the farmers/planters (66 percent) and the company (34 percent).Sagarbarria said that when the Custom agents came last Tuesday, they had in storage 466,142 sacks of sugar, of which 264,000 are owned by the“Wefarmers/planters.donothavecontrol as to whom the farmers would like to sell their sugar. We only control what is our share,” he said. Sagarbarria said all shipments of sugar is strictly monitored by the Sugar Regulatory Administration, who posted representatives outside their warehouses—a practice common to all sugar milling plants in the country.

“A single infraction can close our company forever. We can not take that risk,” he said. Sagarbarria decried the bad publicity brought by the BoC to their company, which has operated for more than 30 years in Bukidnon. Sagarbarria said that as of Wednesday, they only had 390,000 bags of sugar left in their warehouse. He said their annual production averaged close to three million 50kilo bags. Their production last year reached 2,986,709.82 50-kilo bags. Crystal Sugar only produces brown sugar, although it is planning to go into refined sugar production, he added.Sagarbarria said the traders have 60 days to withdraw their stocks from the time of purchase, after which they will charge a storage fee. He said 66 percent of Crystal Sugar’s production goes to the planters in the form of “quedan,” a negotiable instrument similar to a check which the planters sell to traders. The traders would then give the quedan to the company, and pay certain fees which are remitted to the government as revenues, he explained.Hesaid that based on their 2021 output, 1.9 million bags belonged to theCrystalplanters.Sugar is owned by Pablo L. Lobregat, who is also chair of the Philippine Sugar Millers Association. CNN Philippines, in a Twitter post on Aug. 15, quoted Lobregat as saying that the controversy surrounding Sugar Order No. 4 allowing the importation of the commodity was just a matter of inter-office communications and that importation is needed due to rising sugar prices. But another sugar producers group said the shortage was caused by hoarding.Duringthe Senate blue ribbon committee hearing on Tuesday, United Sugar Producers Federation president Manuel Lamata said they thought Marcos ordered the importation of sugar so they signed a written recommendation. “We were made to believe that the President ordered the importation. They wanted the importation of 300,000 metric tons because it was a national emergency. So, we signed because who are we to question the wisdom of the President,” Lamata said. (H. Marcos C.
