Teachers are a special blessing from God to us. They are the ones who build a good nation and make the world a better place. A teacher teaches us the significance of a pen over that of a sword. They are much esteemed in society as they improve the living standards of people. They are like the building blocks of society who educate people and make them better human beings. Moreover, teachers have a great impact on society and their student’s life. They also great importance in a parent’s life as parents expect a lot from teachers for their kids. However, like in every profession, there are both good and bad teachers. While there aren’t that many bad teachers, still the number is significant. A good teacher possesses qualities which a terrible teacher does not. After identifying the qualities of a good teacher we can work to improve the teaching scenario. A good teacher is not that hard to find, but you must know where to look. The good teachers are well-prepared in advance for their education

goals. They prepare their plan of action every day to ensure maximum productivity. Teachers have a lot of knowledge about everything, specifically in the subject they specialize in. A good teacher expands their knowledge continues to provide good answers to their students. Similarly, a good teacher is like a friend that helps us in all our troubles. A good teacher creates their individual learning process which is unique and not mainstream. This makes the students learn the subject in a better manner. In other words, a good teacher ensures their students are learning efficiently and scoring good marks. Most importantly, a good teacher is one who does not merely focus on our academic performance but our overall development. Only then can a student truly grow. Thus, good teachers will understand their student’s problems and try to deal with them correctly. They make the student feel like they always have someone to talk to if they can’t do it at home or with their friends. Let us all be a good teacher who teaches from the heart.

EDUCATION DURING PANDEMIC By GUILLERMO P. GLABAN, Teacher I Naawan Central School Naawan, Misamis Oriental

The pandemic has led schools in all year level to close for the purpose of safety of the teachers, staffs and especially students. The COVID-19 has brought distractions in the learning of our dear students and even hindered the jobs of our school employees. However, despite this tragic event, the pandemic also challenged our readiness in times of unexpected turn of events such as this. It assesses our response to this situation and fortunately for Naawan Central School, it is undeniably true that we are coping up with the situation well. Although at first it was a bit challenging given that we are still adjusting to the ‘new normal’, it did not stop us from delivering good quality education to our students. The online learning scheme was implemented by the student alongside with the modular learning. The preparation of the lessons in the form of modules were tedious and requires a lot of patience and strength. However, it also taught us to be resourceful and creative in teaching. Ensuring that the pandemic cannot make our learning process less productive and making sure that our students still have fun while learning. Modular learning is not bad at all. In fact, it even gave a lot of benefits to the teachers, parents and students alike. Though it takes time for the teachers to prepare the instructional materials, it also helps the teacher to manage his/her time well. It also brings out the creative side of the teacher in drafting activities that would encourage the children to be active while learning even at home. As for the parents, the parent-child

bonding while answering modules greatly helped them to get closer to their children. It also helped them understand more what are the struggles of their child and assess them personally in the fields of their strength and weakness. Therefore, it provides them an opportunity to be engaged in nurturing their children and contributing to their learning process. It might be challenging to some working parents but same with the teachers, it taught them time management and reminds them of their responsibility as the first educator of their children. On the side of the students, modular learning provided them a new and fresh look in their learning journey. Exploring online learning sites, having the freedom to conduct experiments and activities on their own, and doing all of this comfortably in the confines of their homes are some of the many benefits for the children. Research even suggests that online learning has been shown to increase retention of information, and take less time for the children to learn since most of the information are already available online. It taught them independency, responsibility and enhanced their online skills which are great assets given that they are in the generation of advanced technology. Overall, the education during the pandemic has brought challenges to all of us but then it also brings out the abilities we did not know we have just to ensure that the education of our children is not impaired no matter what situation may arise. At the end of the day, being flexible is the key.

TO die is to live! We are always shocked when in the middle of our surroundings, somebody passes away. Our usual questions are: “Why die so young? Why he, why she? A natural reaction, indeed. When Jesus finally gave up His spirit on the cross after three hours of bitter agony, the Pharisees said: “Finally, that impostor has gone. He deserved to die that kind of death!” Let’s remember: After the waving of the tree branches by the Jewish crowd and Hosannas of Palm Sunday, the arrest of Jesus betrayed by Judas in the Garden of Olives, the imprisonment and humiliation of Holy Thursday night, the carrying of the cross, crucifixion, and death at Good Friday, - Jesus Christ rose from the tomb

on Easter Sunday - glorious and will never and die again! For Jesus, dying was not the end of everything. It was the beginning of a new life. Symbolically we see the Easter Resurrection of our Lord depicted in various ways, which always point to life after death. Especially in parts of the world where deep winter lets all plants and trees “sleep” for a couple of months, people enjoy the spirit of the new shoots that come out of a big trunk of a tree. Eggs were usually symbols used in springtime long before Christianity came into existence. The eggs symbolize life, which its causing it to grow. Since Easter usually occurs at spring time (March or April), which is already summer in the Philippines, this egg-symbol

was still in use among the pagans of early times when Christian were celebrating Easter. A blessed Easter to all of you, my dear readers. Isko Moreno: dark horse in the making

THE way Isko Moreno holds his campaign sorties, he may result to becoming the dark horse in the race for Malacanang post. In the latest report of False Asia, Isko Moreno Domagoso is fast catching up with the make-up ratings of Bongbong Marcos and VP Leni Robrero. With a few winks before D-Day, the likelihood of having the youngest leader the PH ever had will happen after May 9 national election. The silent majority will likely rule over the fake numbers created by false surveys done in haste to satisfy the well-oiled machinery of the Marcos camp and the pink resources of Jesse Robredo’s widow. Popular TV host Wil-

lie Revillame personally pushed for a young leader, referring to Isko Moreno to led this country of 118 million people. Even retired UP Prof. Clarita Carlos appreciated the kind of governance of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno saying she liked people who had served as local executives. To justify this prognosis, here is a quick look of countries now managed by a set of young blood. C a n a d a h a s Ju s t i n Trudeau, 51; Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelenskyy is only 44. 34-year-old Sanna Marin is the world’s youngest sitting prime minister after being selected by Finland’s Social Democratic Party. Other countries across

Ruffy Magbanua

the world have leaders in their 30s, such as North Korea’s Kim Jong Un who is only 35. Kosovo: Another woman leader, Vjosa Osmani, was elected president in April aged 38. Georgia: Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili was the same age when he came to power in February. El Salvador: Controversial populist President Nayib Bukele is 40, having been elected at 37. Andorra: Former justice minister Xavier Espot Zamora became the head See HORSE, page 11

Kim’s Dream No to Palm Oil

Yes to Food & Ecological Security

WITHOUT food and ecological security, a country, even with a strong army, is not secured at all. For the shameless violations of the laws of nature, our people are now suffering the consequences, our country being the 4th hardest hit country in the world by climate change where thousands have already lost their homes and lives in one night of flooding alone. Why did we allow a few influential loggers to plunder our natural forest and massacre all life forms, our precious irreplaceable mega-diversity that God created through the process of evolution for billions of years? Many of these species, be flora or fauna, are

endemic, meaning, could be found only in the Philippines, yet, have been erased from the face of the earth as these loggers and their cabal of vested interest could not moderate their greed. All of these were done in utter disregard to the rule of law. Yes, in total violation of environmental laws! I could still remember those years (1991 to 2001) when, I as head of Task Force Macajalar (a coalition of some 300 people’s organizations) was charged by Vicmar Logging Corporation of 200-million peso damage suit for leading the human barricades to stop logging. A court had issued warrant of arrest against us. I thought then how powerful these loggers

Orlan R. Ravanera

are. They were the ones who should be arrested because all of their logging activities were all illegal, They were cutting trees in the hinterlands with an altitude of more than 1,000 meters above sea level which is against environmental law that prohibits logging in areas with that altitude. They were powerful then as these logging trucks were escorted by heavily armed men. In the issuance of Timber License Agreements, it was a basic requirement for the loggers to do replanting. Again, such had not been done by these loggers, i.e, Vicmar, See FOOD, page 11

Aiding learning with technology in time of the pandemic JASMIN B. BENEDICTO Teacher III Tawantawan Integrated School Initao, South District

It is important to acknowledge that learners are already interested and engaged in using technology, this creates many amazing opportunities for schools and teachers to benefit from integrating some forms of technology in the classroom and to make teaching and learning more effective. Here are some of the main benefits of using technology in the classroom. When technology is integrated into lessons, learners are expected to be more interested in the subjects they are studying. Technology provides different opportunities to make learning more fun and enjoyable in terms of teaching same things in new ways. For instance, delivering teaching through gamification, taking learners on virtual field trips and using other online learning resources. What is more, technology can encourage a more active participation in the learning process which can be hard to achieve through a traditional lecture environment. Moreover, learners who are engaged and interested in things they are studying, are expected to have a better knowledge retention. As mentioned before, technology can help to encourage active participation in the classroom which also is a very important factor for increased knowledge re-

tention. Different forms of technology can be used to experiment with and decide what works best for learners in terms of retaining their knowledge. Also, learners can practice collaboration skills by getting involved in different online activities. For instance, working on different projects by collaborating with others on forums or by sharing documents on their virtual learning environments. Technology can encourage collaboration with learners in the same classroom, same school and even with other classrooms around the world. By using technology in the classroom, both teachers and learners can develop skills essential for the 21st century. Learners can gain the skills they will need to be successful in the future. Modern learning is about collaborating with others, solving complex problems, critical thinking, developing different forms of communication and leadership skills, and improving motivation and productivity. What is more, technology can help develop many practical skills, including creating presentations, learning to differentiate reliable from unreliable sources on the Internet, maintaining proper online etiquette, and writing emails. These are very important skills that can be developed in the classroom.

Teaching and learning Science in the ‘new normal’ JIM B. AGCOPRA Teacher-III Tawantawan Integrated School District: Initao South Division: Misamis Oriental

B etween Math and Science, it is Science that requires laboratory work. Students are drawn more to Science because it involves a “real” application of theories learned in the classroom. The nature of science education involves students in scientific investigation. Scientific investigation includes the way thinking, attitude, and steps scientific activities to obtain products and knowledge of science. Students should be able to integrate between skills, knowledge and attitudes, to develop knowledge of conceptual understanding better. One of the most important basic skills in scientific inquiry is the skill of the science process. Scientific process skills are a set of skills used in conducting scientific activities, producing and using scientific information, and problem solving. Such skills can be a character in student’s self if they have the opportunity to do so in either learning or laboratory activities. Science education is one of the most important subjects in school due to its relevance to students’ lives and the universally applicable problem-solving and critical thinking skills it uses and develops. These are lifelong skills that allow students to generate ideas,

weigh decisions intelligently and even understand the evidence behind public policy-making. Teaching technological literacy, critical thinking and problemsolving through science education gives students the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in school and beyond. Moreover, Science teachers are challenged to employ better methodologies and activities to make it more interesting. Teaching Science particularly in high school is not that easy because of the more complicated theories. Aside from it, experiments have to be carefully planned and prepared. In laboratories, Science teachers cannot do it alone because experiments may be harmful. To ensure safety, laboratory assistants provide guidance to students in the experiment processes. Preparing, discussing, and doing the experiments are the challenges that Science teachers experience in teaching. A science teacher is considered someone intellectual, a nature lover, and with great interest about the world. It takes a lot of training including involvement in experiments and travel to the most isolated and dangerous places to be able to find more data leading to knowledge that can greatly impact the world.

Bukidnon town clears roads blocked by LPA-induced landslides By FRANCK DICK ROSETE

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Two roads in Sumilao, Bukidnon that were recently affected by landslides are already passable after continuous clearing operations, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) confirmed on Sunday. In an interview, MDRRMO head Ariosto Zagado said landslides were reCLEARING OPS. The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction ported at about 4 p.m. on and Management Office of Sumilao, Bukidnon conducts Friday on the provincial clearing operations after a landslide on Saturday (April 9, 2022). Ranking and ERF: Ways on Teachers’ Promotion By CARLA ANGINEEHL L. FLORES Teacher III Claveria Central School

Seeking a higher position is another milestone in the chosen carrier. After being hired by the Department of Education, there are two ways a teacher can upgrade the position. First, through ranking, like the same process being done in applying for an item in the department. The teacher should be included in the rank list and wait for their ranking status to be qualified for the promotion. Some documents need to be passed to qualify for a certain position applying for. Another is through ERF or the Equivalent Rating Form wherein there is an equivalent rating for the following position. For the Teacher II

position, the teacher should be 20 yrs in service or 20 MA units with at least one year in service. Every 3 years in service is equivalent to credit units. For an instance, for a teacher with 18 MA units and 6 years in service it will become 18 units MA + 2 units (6 years divided by 3) = 20 units. For the Teacher III position, MA Degree with Thesis Book or 20 years in service with 20 MA units or Equivalent (36 MA units with 18 years in service). Whatever path a teacher may choose in upgrading their position, whether it is through ranking or ERF, if it is destined for you it will be intended and given to you.

The MDRRMO immediately proceeded to the site but had to suspend operations due to the instability of the area and heavy rains brought by a low pressure area (LPA). Clearing operations resumed Saturday, with Poblacion fully cleared and Kulasi partially cleared after the heavy equipment sustained mechanical problems. Kulasi’s one lane is al-

The Girl Scouts program: Its Advantages CHARESSE ANN P. ROXAS Teacher – I Tawantawan Integrated School Initao , South District Division of Misamis Oriental

Being a member of the Girl Scouts program contributes to girls’ academic success by helping them develop important leadership skills, such as resourceful problem solving and challenge seeking. Girl Scouts contributes to girls’ academic success as much as or more than their positive relationships with teachers and weekly participation in other out-of-school activities. Learning to plan and solve problems in Girl Scouts may help compensate for some of the effects of lower socioeconomic status on girls’ achievement. Moreover, community service is an important part of growing as a Girl Scout. Girls are encouraged to give back and improve the world around

them from the very start and it becomes even more of a focus as early as 4th grade. Girl Scouts is the leading organization that provides girls with a fun and safe environment to overcome fears and try new things, making them greater challenge-seekers, more academically proficient learners and, eventually, more successful adults. Whether they are building a campfire or at their first sleep away, Girl Scouts provides a safe place for girls to face their fears and take appropriate risks. They are encouraged to try new things even though they might fail and to learn from mistakes. Girls who step up and take on challenges grow into women who are more successful.

ready passable, according to Zagado, but cautioned motorists to remain vigilant. “We advise the commuters to be extra cautious in traversing the area,” Zagado said in the vernacular. The MDRRMO continuously monitors the villages of San Vicente and Kisolon as there are landslide-prone areas and Kisolon, which is flood-prone.

Zagado also urged the residents, especially those in hazardous areas, to always monitor the weather conditions and follow the advice of authorities. “Report to us if there are reported incidents in your area,” he said. The towns of Impasugong and Malitbog experienced light to moderate rainfall on Sunday morning. (PNA)

Managing unexpected events ANA ROBE B. QUINCE Teacher I Tawantawan Integrated School Initao South District Division of Misamis Oriental

Every day, we meet all kinds of surprises and unexpected events. Most of them are of minor importance, but sometimes, they are major, or life shaking events of unpleasant nature, causing difficulties and problems. Life is full of surprises and events that sometimes, shatter one’s daily routine. Some of them might be good and some of them not so good. Some are pleasant and others unpleasant. Throughout life, you’re in a constant state of flux. From your social life to your work life, your day-to-day experiences are never fully concrete. You might walk into work one day to find out your favorite co-worker or boss no longer works for the company. Or, maybe before you even show up for work your car breaks down. Sometimes these un-

foreseen events are small, seemingly harmless. For example, you might break a dish or spill a drink. This seems more like a minor inconvenience but after an already difficult day, these little bumps in the road can add up for a pretty rough ride. Most importantly, you should practice forgiving yourself for your misdeeds. There’s no reason to constantly beat yourself up over your mistakes. First accept them, and then try to either fix them or move on. It’s also important to forgive other people and try to empathize with them as well. When you have a negative experience it’s easy to react selfishly. If someone else is the reason an unforeseen event occurs, remember that their life is also being thrown off course.

Banana originated in Malaysia and later arrived and cultivated abundantly in the our very own country, that presently become one of our source of bigger income for local consumption and for exports. Banana produces seeds ones in a lifetime only. These are grown slowly in a tropical country. This is grown locally, mostly for domestic consumption only. Presently bananas are for export. It is significant food crop in tropics. Consumers eat not only the raw ripe fruit but also cook banana as starchy vegetable food. Some fermented

banana ripe fruit for vinegar and beer. Others dried strips of banana unripe and fry for chips. Banana is very rich in carbohydrates. It has vitamin A and C and rich in potassium and phosphorus. AMID the stress and disruption of the pandemic, parents and caregivers have had less time and energy to engage their babies and toddlers in conversation. And the lack of talk already shows in their language skills. New studies find that infants born during the pandemic vocalize significantly less and engage in less verbal turn-taking behaviors found to be critical for language development. As those babies grow, experts worry they will need significant supports to be ready for school. The researchers conduct regular cognitive and language development tests as well as

brain scans as the children grow and monitor how the children are exposed to language in their earliest years of life. During the pandemic, the lab was able to continue its assessments. They began to notice anecdotally several months into the pandemic that kids seemed to be having a little greater challenge in doing their cognitive tests. Children just seemed to be taking a little bit longer to get through their assessments. They maybe weren’t attentive or not performing as we normally had seen. And over time, those individual anecdotal statements became a chorus.

Police and barangay officials estimated that some 20,000 Catholic devotees gather every Holy Week at Abong-Abong Holy Hill to pray at the 14 Stations

The webinar hosted by the ECCP brought industry professionals and agencies from the public and private sectors to discuss the growing industries in Mindanao including agriculture, ICT, and tourism. Having reliable energy is of utmost importance to adequately support the economic needs of the region. “The expansion in one industry has a spillover effect in another, hence, the need to harmonize development initiatives. We have to capitalize on domestic strengths to push development further. We welcome our private sector partners in advancing the crucial sectors to reinforce the pillars of Mindanao’s competitiveness,” said Sec. Maria

Belen S. Acosta, Mindanao Development Authority Chairperson in her opening remarks. Milan stated in his presentation that while Mindanao has an excess power supply of around 1,000 megawatts, electricity costs are expected to increase due to the volatility of fuel costs in the global market resulting from the Russian-Ukraine war and foreign exchange rates. He pointed out the need to look at demand-side management, particularly energy efficiency audits under the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act or RA 11285. He encouraged residential consumers to practice energy conservation habits such as unplugging hot

water dispensers and kettles when not in use, maximizing laundry machine loads, and switching to energy-efficient appliances to reduce energy wastage and increase energy productivity. He also pushed for the implementation of the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) in Mindanao. The WESM is a venue for trading electricity as a commodity in the Philippines. It encourages competition in the generation space which can lower electricity prices. “For us to be able to take advantage of our excess supply and hopefully get lower rates on electricity, we need ARTURO MILAN TALKS ABOUT THE POWER SITUATION this WESM in Mindanao,” IN MINDANAO DURING THE 1ST MINDANAO BUSINESS Milan said. CEBU CITY – The increase in sales and sustained housing demand is an indicator of recovery from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic, a Cebu-based real estate company said on Friday. Jose Soberano III, Cebu Landmasters Inc. (CLI) chairperson and chief executive officer, reported that the recovery of the property sector from the effects of the pandemic is evident in the firm’s income performance when it effectively surged past its 2019 pre-pandemic bottomline by 30 percent. The listed property firm has reported a record PHP2.61 billion net income attributable to shareholders in 2021, up 42 percent from 2020’s PHP1.85 billion. Soberano said the company’s 2021 performance exceeded “puts us in a position to pick up from where we left off pre-Covid” and shows that the industry is on track to sustained recovery moving forward. He added there continues to be a “solid housing demand in the Visayas and Mindanao, particularly in the economic and midincome segments,” which drove the firm’s sales to hit a record PHP16.5 billion in 2021, 16 percent more than the previous year. By the end of 2021, Soberano said construction was in full-swing across all their project sites in 16 key cities in Visayas and Mindanao, and catch-up measures had been put in See CONTINUES, page 11

Roa & Sons, TIPI, Remedios Fortich, Valderama, the late Desty Eleazar, etc. More than 200,000 hectares are glaringly denuded as these logging companies had even established sawmills amidst the forest and no agency of government can penetrate as these areas were heavily guarded. After losing 17 million hectares of dipterocarp forest in just a century, our country now reels-off in survival mode, facing great dangers ahead, experiencing the brunt of ecological disasters, power and water shortages and the threat of hunger as our agricultural lands are now converted into massive plantations to satisfy the insatiable appetite of the consumerist and materialistic lifestyle in highly developed countries. This is especially true in the beautiful but broken island of Mindanao where 70% of the agricultural lands (the choicest) are under the control of trans-national corporations and of a few elites, converting these lands into massive plantations, not for us but to feed the people in other countries while we cannot even produce enough staples (rice and milk) for our hungry people. Don’t you know that based on the data of the Food and Nutrition Institute, 85% of the Filipino children are malnourished? We may escape penalties in violation of man-made laws but not the punishment for violating the laws of nature which are also the laws of God as the sins of a few loggers are now visited upon our people. And where are these loggers? Well, many are still in power. Is this the reason why, instead of them being made accountable, it is the people who should now pay for the environmental services? And to top it all, these denuded areas, instead of being rehabilitated to regain back our ecological and food security will be planted with palm oil trees as no less than the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) is promoting palm oil investments using the farmers and the Indigenous Peoples’ land in Mindanao and in Palawan. Well, I have no qualms in shifting from fossil fuel to renewable energy as such shift has become imperative to mitigate climate change. In fact, because of that there is now tremendous pressure on land. But such should be done not at our own expense. The rich countries have already taken so much from us, turning our lands into massive plantations while polluting our watersheds with so much nonbiodegradable toxic chemicals. This time, we must prioritize food because “it is a crime against humanity,” to quote a World Bank official, for the people to be hungry with so many malnourished children, yet, giving more importance to bio-fuel. Climate change is primarily due to a wrong development paradigm, the neo-liberal capitalism also known as corporate globalization under the control of one percent regime where the wealth of the one percent is greater than the combined assets of the ninety-nine percent of the world’s population in a grossly iniquitous set-up. How can we stop the use of coal and fossil fuel as some 19 fossil companies based in the United States led by the Exxon Mobile are earning 10 trillion dollars annually or 15 million dollars every minute? That is in fact the root of the problem but nothing is being done to debunk climate change amidst morale collapse and religious apathy. In a world that is giving so much veneration to the profit motive that has already captured the mindset of all governments,

all institutions, all universities and all religions, it has become imperative to debunk corporate globalization amidst gross inequities. In our country alone, 70% of the GDP went only to the pockets of 50 oligarchs in a country where economic power begets political power as elections in this country is just a “big circus.” Indeed, the natural resources and the ecosystems are only ours to protect for the coming generations. But at the rate that we have exploited or resources, we have robbed our children of their inheritance.

In the mid-term, Milan advocated for the rehabilitation

of the hydro facilities in Mindanao, especially the Agus and Pulangi plants to increase their capacity which dropped due to age and usage. This will increase the stock of renewable energy generation in Mindanao, which is in line with the Department of Energy’s Philippine Energy Plan. Milan also called for the interconnection of the Mindanao and Visayas grids which will allow the export of excess power to other areas and attain efficiency in the different generating plants. As the country transitions to clean, renewable energy, Milan emphasized the development of new RE technologies is the way forward. Apart from RE, he stated that building more highcapacity power plants that can be used to supply electricity for the whole country and contribute to lowering electricity cost due to the economies of scale these provide. Citing data from the grid operator’s demand outlook as of March 2022, Mindanao currently has an excess power supply of over 1,000 MW, given its current dependable capacity of 3,082 MW and only around 1,975 MW in demand. “As the region opens up its economy following the drop in COVID-19 cases, the power demand is now at 1,975 MW and is expected to soon exceed pre-pandemic levels,” Milan said.

Cebu Pacific and Singapore Tourism Board strengthen partnership to encourage Juans to visit Singapore

THE Philippines’ leading airline, Cebu Pacific (CEB), is proud to renew its partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) to inspire Filipinos to travel again and enjoy fresh experiences in the Lion City. Singapore recently reopened its borders for all fully vaccinated Filipinos, making it easier for tourists to enjoy a convenient, quarantine-free vacation. Since 1 Apr 2022, vaccinated travellers to Singapore enjoy a simplified travel process (see Annex A), requiring only proof of vaccination, a pre-departure Covid-19 test, and an online SG Arrival Card. “STB is excited to collaborate with CEB and would like to thank them for this opportunity to bring more visitors from Philippines to Singapore. Through this

partnership, Filipino travellers can look forward to attractive promotions and campaigns to warmly welcome them back to Singapore,” said Juliana Kua, Assistant Chief Executive, International Group, Singapore Tourism Board. CEB currently flies daily between Manila and Singapore, providing passengers with a lot of options to experience Singapore’s various offerings – whether to explore its famous culinary scene, engage in thrill-seeking activities, or go shopping. Juans from the Visayas and Mindanao may also conveniently connect via Manila – with flights between Cebu and Manila running up to 18x daily, and Davao and Manila up to 8x daily. “We are very happy to firm up our collaboration with the Singapore

Tourism Board (STB) following the easing of travel restrictions in and out the Philippines. We believe this partnership is very timely as it’ll surely contribute to the recovery of both the industry, as well as our respective countries,” said Candice Iyog, Vice President for Marketing and Customer Experience at Cebu Pacific. Through this partnership, everyJuan can expect enticing content on what to do in Singapore, matched with year-round seat sales and great deals suited for both first-time and repeat travelers. CEB has achieved a 7-star safety rating from airlineratings.com for its COVID-19 compliance.
