The power firm is part of the Filinvest group under the sub sidiary FDC Utilities, Inc., its utilities and infrastructure arm. for Disease Control and Prevention (US-CDC)’s Travel Health Notice on the Philippines as a Level 3 destination due to its “high-level” of COVID-19. The Philippines uses a different set of metrics to determine COVID-19 risk classifications in the country, compared to the metrics used by the USCDC. Their metrics serve to alert travelers about health threats around the world, and advise on how to keep from getting in fected. US-CDC metrics use the number of cases over the past 28 days per 100,000 population, trian gulated with their testing data (which pertains to both testing rate and testto-case ratio). In the Philippines, in ad dition to using Average DSWD “SIEGE” in CDO? - Thousands of people coming from barangays in this city and nearby municipalities thronged to the premises of the re gional office of the Department of Social Welfare & Development (DSWD) in Uptown Cagayan de Oro trying to get their financial assistance. Reports said that 4 persons already have fainted in this rough and tumble crowd. Critiques said the DSWD should have sent field personnel to deliver the assistance to the barangays instead of having them come to their regional office. Only 400 beneficiaries can be accommodated yesterday and only those in the first lines as they were the ones who stayed overnight. (Photo Courtesy Bombo Radyo)

By Benjamin Pulta MANILA – The Court of Appeals (CA) has fined a columnist of a trade pa per for libelous remarks published 10 years ago. In a 14-page decision dated August 10, the CA affirmed and modified a regional trial court decision and sentenced Ramon Anquilan of Cus toms Chronicle to pay a fine of PHP6,000 in lieu of imprisonment with subsidiary imprisonment in case of insolvency. The court had originally sentenced Anquilan to two years and 11 months in prison for a complaint filed by former Port of Manila collector Rogel AnquilanGatchalian.admitted that the article titled “Poison Letter”, which appeared in the Feb. 27 - March 4, 2012 issue, was merely based on gossip. The everyday interactions and activities that take place in the classroom and other areas of the school will have a significant impact on stu dents’ learning and develop ment because they spend a large portion of their days there. According to the selfdetermination theory, people have three fundamental needs: a need for autonomy, a need for competence, and a need for belonging. Students’ wellbeing, motivation, engage ment, and academic success will be influenced by how teachers respond to these fundamental demands that they have. One of the closest levels of influence on student development at school is teacher-student interactions, which are connected to kids’ fundamental psychological needs. These relationships come from a constant inter action between the traits of the individual instructor and those of the student. In terms of their fundamental psycho logical needs and wellbeing, instructors’ interactions with their students are also crucial. The concept of stu dent participation is crucial to education. It alludes to focus and enthusiasm for the material being presented. It boosts learner engagement and academic performance. For students to be engaged, they must be inspired to learn. Without motivation, students will be disengaged, which means they won’t be motivated to do tasks that are essential for learning and will lack interest in the class. The atmosphere transforms as a result of the development of relationships; it becomes a nurturing one in which the students feel at ease because they perceive their professors as showing them care. Building relationships with their students helps teachers become more aware of what their students need, which allows them to tailor their curriculum to fit their needs and academically.inspireswheresarychild’srelationshipsmotivating.interests—highlyIntheclassroom,arecrucialtoalearning.Itisnecestocreateenvironmentspeoplegetalong,asthisstudentstoadvance

The amazing life of service of Dr. Jesus Guiab and that of his wife, Atty. Remedios Galutera Guiab entitled, “Lives in the Hands of God,” is now being published which is worth reading as it is a life that has debunked the mundane and leaped-up to the sublime. That is so because they had put their lives in the Hands of God! In a world that is buried in unbridled materialism and consumer ism that is giving so much veneration to the profit motive that has already cap tured the mindset of all gov ernments, all institutions, all universities and even or religious groups, there is no greater grandeur sight on earth than a compassionate couple, fired with a great purpose, dominated by one Life of Service of Dr. & Atty.

“The feast is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy to come.” (Mt 22,8) With these words in the parable about a king who invited guests to a feast, we are reminded that we have to be ready to face God in judgment, because he can call us anytime. We know that death can come to us anytime. Without developing a gloomy outlook in life but simply to be realis tic, we should somehow consider each day as our last day of our life here on Thatearth.way, we would be more motivated to prepare ourselves to meet God and to be very dis cerning about what truly counts in life, knowing that we can easily get confused and lost, tossed to and from and carried away by the changing conditions of our daily life.Just the same, know ing that we can never be sufficiently prepared for death, we should not be afraid to face God in judgment, since God is always willing to offer us mercy, just as Christ offered mercy to those who crucified him. We should just at least show some signs of repentance at the moment of death. In other words, we have to be eternity-ready all the time, because we are meant for eternal life in heaven, and not just temporal life here on earth. Our life here on earth is just a testing ground to see if what God wants us to be, that is, to be his image and likeness, children of his, sharers of his life and nature, is also what we want ourselves to be.We therefore have to be constantly aware that in every event and con dition in our life here on earth, that ultimate purpose of our life is always considered and acted upon. We should try to avoid simply get ting lost in our temporal affairs.Inthis regard, it would be helpful to realize that since God is the creator of the universe, know ing him would lead us to know ourselves and everything else properly. And loving him would enable us to love our selves and everything else properly as well. God, Always ready to face God in judgment

The city will also facilitate putting the equipment in place. We will just ask for additional from the government if needed,” Gasataya said. The opening of the new health centers will bring the government’s health services closer to the people, he said, adding that he also discussed with Benitez his proposal to assign doctors for daily duty, not just once or twice a “Ifweek.residents need medical check-up, they wouldn’t have to go to the City Health Office or to the hospitals. They can just go to the nearest barangay health center. There should be doctors assigned to the health centers regularly, on a daily basis, as much as possible,” he said. Even young minds learn best when they are involved in the learning process. They get more interested to learn day by day. And that is in Science. It encourages the children to do something. They would love to observe, ask questions, and even do experiments to find answers. And so, as a teacher, Science should be fun to learn and teach. This makes inves tigative individuals more interested to find out why and how things happen. These people are very inquisitive and curious that often like to spend time alone with their thoughts. With this, the point of good science is not to teach you what to think. It teaches you how to think. When you study science, you learn how to analyze often huge amounts of data. In every step you do, you are more enthusiastic to finally find the answers. Fun steps in Science includes: under standing, creating a plan, seeing the plan through, and looking back to learn from the solution. Not only that, Science helps clear communi cation, strong focus, and good organization. This simply emphasizes that science is one of the most important channels of knowledge. And that made the reason why most of the school learners get fascinated with Science.

Societal issues and concerns are but part and parcel of human life. However, Philosopher Plato believed education has the potential to solve all human problems, may it be political, economic, social, or environmental. Plato pioneered a public school system that caters learn ers from all walks of life. Of fering a quality, accessible and free education to all citizens regardless of religion, eco nomic status, gender, physical and mental capabilities, must be the prime responsibility of the state. If we are to build an orderly, peaceful, and progres sive society where every citizen willingly adheres to the laws of the land, the state should provide them with appropriate education. As we all know, the more educated people are, the more they tend to abide to the instituted rules of conduct. Suffice it to say, professionals almost always act and behave professionally as they want to represent their respective professions in the best possible way. When one is educated in a certain aspect, he becomes aware of the dangers attached to it. As a result, he will try his best not to get strangled by any of these dangers. The challenge to the Phil ippine government is how to make quality education free and accessible to all. We already have existing public campuses, infrastructures, facilities, and personnel. But quality educa tion for all remains elusive. It cannot be achieved solely by the government itself. All parties involved have a role to play. For example, the govern ment should increase its budget allocation for education. This budget can be used to raise the salary of teachers, build more schools, procure ICT facilities and other instructional materi als, fund professional develop ment trainings and educational research, and sponsor the educational advancement of educators. On the other hand, educators also need to render nothing but their best services. They must be committed to their profession and focused on achieving the goals of the present educational system. Parents and guardians must send their children to school. They also have to do their share of educating their children at home by doing follow-ups, communicating constantly with the teachers, tutoring their children whenever necessary, and assisting them in doing assignments and performance tasks. Lastly, the learners must be willing to learn, internalize what they learned, and act in accordance with what they havePlato’slearned.claim that education is the key to solving every human problem can only be achieved if the government, educators, parents, and learn ers embrace their respective roles. However, the real battle remains to be won within the heart of each individual per son. It is a matter of having the right perspective towards education. The question is, are we willing to do our part?

Further, according to the survey, IDA also affects two out of 10 children 6months to 5 years old, as well as the six to 12-year-olds. In addition, one out of ten 13- to 19-year-old teens are likewise affected. With this underlying issue, DOST-FNRI devel oped the Iron-Fortified Rice (IFR) and Iron Rice Premix (IRP) technolo gies to help address iron deficiency anemia in the country. Fortifying rice with iron is a strategic nutrition intervention in helping address IDA, because rice is the staple food of most Filipinos. Parents will often ask us which kind of education is more valuable - a quality educa tion or a good education. We believe that both knowledge and social skills are important in early childhood education, but we also know that these attributes differ for different children. If you have young kids, it’s probably best to focus on the latter. However, what if the former is too challenging for your child? Keep reading to discover why you should focus on knowledge and social skills in pre-school and what you can do to help your child develop these essential skills set at Ashome.the name implies, knowledge and social skills are the foundation for any later academic success in life. The ability to acquire knowledge through reading, writing and arithmetic is what makes us hu man. Knowledge also includes the capacity to understand other people and their ideas and motivations, as well as to communicate and collaborate with others. Social skills refer to the ability to communicate, interact with others and get along with your child’s class mates. There are a couple of rea sons why knowledge and so cial skills are important for preschoolers. For one, kids are developing their cogni tive and mathematical skills at this age. Additionally, kids are also forming emotional connections with their sur roundings and peers. Hence, by teaching your child early on how to function within a group, you can prevent him from being socially awkward later in Afterlife.enjoying a quality education in childhood, it’s important for kids to learn how to interact with people of different ages and back grounds. They should also be able to use these skills to interact with their own par ents. This can help your child develop better communication and listening skills, as well as better impulse control. When your child is young, he’s also very impressionable. Hence, you can help him navigate the social world by developing his social skills. This can help him feel more confident, have better self-esteem and be more perseverant in the future. We believe that both knowl edge and social skills are im portant and can be developed in preschoolers. However, we also know that social skills are more developed at a young age and will continue to grow during your child’s childhood years. If you have a child who is just beginning to develop language, you may want to focus on the former. After all, the latter is often associated with relating to others and forming strong relationships. However, if your child is more advanced, you can help him develop key social skills by teaching him how to play with his peers, use a bike helmet and ride a bike without falling.

Amidst the contempo raneous morale collapse, religious apathy and deni gration of spirituality, it has become imperative to read this book that will somehow unfetter humanity from the mundane to go to the sublime. Indeed, we are more than form (body) as we are consciousness (spirit). When one puts his/her life in the Hands of God, it is in consonance with the bibli cal line, “What would profit Life... from page 4 a man if he gains the whole world but suffers the loss of his soul.” Putting our lives in the Hands of God will be an exemplification of Consciousness that is now pervading in the universe to unfetter humanity from collective insanity brought about by an egoic mindset and compulsive thinking. The collective insanity of humanity that has sacri ficed the people and the earth to the alter of greed and profit should now be countered otherwise the unimaginable will become imaginable, the end of life on Noearth.way will the Supreme Being allows that! Thus, it has become urgent and imperative to put one’s life in the Hands of God. How? In fact, saints and the Church herself have recommended that we make a daily examina tion of conscience just before going to bed. This is to see if the day went as it should, that is, if love for God and neighbor is really the motive of all our actions, and so that we at least can be reconciled with God no matter how the day went. We should at least say sorry to God, even if we still have to do things to make up for our mistakes and sins. This is an important task, because more than just resting physically, mentally or emotionally, we need to be at peace with God at the end of the day. God is everything to us. The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and its partner retailers signed a Memorandum of Agree ment (MOA) to deploy Coin Deposit Machines (CoDM) in an effort to promote efficient coin re circulation in the country. In a ceremony held at the BSP Head Office in Manila, BSP Governor Fe lipe M. Medalla signed the MOA with SM Retail Inc. Controllership and Finan cial Planning Senior Vice President Jonathan H. Ng, Filinvest Land Inc. Deputy Chief Finance Officer Janeth B. de los Reyes, and Robin sons Supermarket Manag ing Director Stanley C. Co to deploy 25 coin deposit machines in select retail establishments located in Greater Manila and nearby provinces.Automated CoD Ms will allow customers to conveniently deposit coins and redeem their accumulated value from partner retail establish ments through shopping vouchers or rewards card points. Alternately, cus tomers may opt to directly credit the amount to their participating bank accounts or electronic wallets. Fit coins collected from the machines will be returned into circulation when partner retailers use them as change for overthe-counter payments of good and services. Unfit coins, on the other hand, will be removed from cir culation and subsequently retired by the BSP. “There is a problem when it comes to recircu lating coins: some people hoard or collect them while some people leave them be hind altogether, leading to an artificial coin shortage. This defeats their intended purpose as a medium of exchange,” said Governor Medalla.Coins per capita rose by 584 percent over the past 17 years, up to 342 pieces in June 2022 from 50 pieces in 2005 as the BSP increased coin production to meet growing“That’sdemand.whywe hope that this project will solve problems for everyone: businesses, financial insti tutions, and the public. I’m very optimistic that after a two-year pilot run, we will be able to deploy these ma chines [in more locations] and I am confident that the benefits will be realized,” the Governor added. In addition to coin recirculation, the CoDM Project also supports the BSP’s efforts to promote digitalization and financial inclusion by allowing autocrediting to bank accounts or electronic wallets. Also present at the event were BSP Deputy Gover nor (DG) Bernadette T. Romulo-Puyat, BSP DG Mamerto E. Tangonan, BSP Senior Assistant Governor (SAG) and General Counsel Elmore O.
