To be clear the mall man agement had nothing to do with the misleading FB post and in fact they can also be considered as being victim ized by whoever posted it in the first place. Whoever posted that misleading FB post may now be hiding in anonymity either out of shame or silent glee at the major inconvenience he or she or it caused on the claimantThat**************families.said, theonus of the blame for the first Sat urday’s botched debacle of a cash aid doleout lies prin cipally on DSWD Secretary Erwin Tulfo. In camping out overnight outside the DSWD office prior to the cash aid distribution, the claimant families alleged that Tulfo promised them that all would be accom modated and given the cash aid ranging from P1K to a maximum P3K to P4K depending on the number of schoolchildren of the parents.AP1,000 cash aid may not be much for middle income families considering the school expenses that somehow increased even with a two-year absence of face-to-face (F2F) classes (methinks the schools are making up for their two-year losses by raising their tuition which won’t be surprising at all) but for these mostly indigent claimant families, P1,000 can buy their chil dren notebooks and bags and some extra allowance. One interesting tidbit: Erwin Tulfo is among the media practitioners that were implicated in the now infamous Aug. 23, 2010 That botched cash doleout by DSWD

World supports PBBM on ‘Strongest Partner’ due to their dismay and alarm over China’s rise. Veritably, 61.29 percent support China’s vision of “a community with a shared future” to avoid conflict. I bring these up as some Philippine bureaucrats, de fense officials and media people do not to appreci ate President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s initiative to engage strongly with China. Instead, they are making attempts to sabo tage PBBM by pushing the “China Threat” agenda of the US, promoting US-PH joint sea patrols, joint mili tary “Balikatan” drills, and fortifying the MDT, VFA and EDCA, all of which should be scrapped to ensure a peaceful Asia. China rail loan talks on track This brings us to the PHChina projects where the PBBM administration has overcome the very aggres sive disinformation war of the US on Chinese Overseas Development Assistance (ODA) for the Philippines, including the outright lies about the “debt trap” and “high interest rates”. On Aug. 15, the PBBM admin istration’s Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista has finally resumed talks with a visit to Chinese Ambas sador Huang Xilian.

ROCKINGHAM, North Carolina—The scheduled second week of payout of sorts by the Department of Social Welfare and De velopment (DSWD) for educational assistance to identified beneficiaries in the country may have fared better than the first Sat urday that was marred by large crowds desperate to receive cash aid for their schoolchildren.Yesindeedit was ugly. Based on the videos and photos I saw on my so cial media feed, the first Saturday of the DSWD educational cash aid al location was anything but orderly, efficient and effec tive. On the contrary, it was a prime example of what government agencies ought NOT to do when pledging to deliver something to a highly expectant public. What happened on that first Saturday was a failure of communication on the DSWD’s part. The onrush of indigent families and the size of the crowds that surrounded the DSWD offices across the country showed their level of desperation and need for cash aid in these pandemic times. In Cagayan de Oro City for one, large crowds of claimant families had to be turned away by manage ment of a big mall hours after the families learned from a Facebook post that school cash aid would be given in that mall on Friday or the day before the actual cash aid Turneddoleout.outthat the Face book post referred to the Luzon branch of the big mall and not the Cagayan de Oro City branch. But that bit of misinformation had not only inconvenienced the crowd of claimant families, some of whom fainted due to the heat caused by the over crowding, it also unfairly shifted part of the blame on the mall management.

and

TUAO, Cagayan – Ginalyn Joaquin always dreamt of running her own retail store, similar to the ‘sari-sari store’ her mother used to own when she was a child. But having enough resources to pursue this dream proved to be difficult as her monthly salary was barely enough to make ends meet for the needs of her family. Working as a full-time employee at a sugar milling company, Ginalyn’s salary was just enough to cover their family’s daily living expenses. And when her daughter contracted a se rious illness and needed medical care, Ginalyn was forced to look for additional sources of income to afford the health care costs. While keeping her day job, Ginalyn started buying sugar from her employ er, which she repacked in smaller amounts and sold to her neighbors. This retail initiative soon evolved into a ‘rolling store’ aboard a tricycle, wherein she sold other essential grocery items across town, including the neighboring municipality of Piat.Through hard work, Gi nalyn was able to pay for her daughter’s health care and eventually, was financially stable to resign from her day job and focus on her store. Ginalyn’s growEnterprises—continuedbusiness—JP’stoandwastappedbya noodle brand as an official distributor in the province. However, this required ad ditional working capital, which she did not have at thatGinalyntime. then turned to the Land Bank of the Phil ippines (LANDBANK) for credit assistance amounting to P30 million under the Emerging Female-Initiated Livelihood and Investment P rojects via IN clusive Fi nancing to Accelerate En trepreneurial Growth (FILI PINA) Lending Program, to finance the working capital for JP’s Enterprises. The LANDBANK loan helped Ginalyn expand her business into a full grocery store and become a leading supplier of grocery items in Cagayan, catering to the towns of Tuao, Piat, SanchezMira and Santo Niño, as well as the municipalities of Kabugao and Conner in the province of Apayao. It was also able to generate employment for around 102 locals, a significant increase from the initial 2 workers Ginalyn hired for her previ ous rolling store. At the height of the CO VID-19 pandemic, the gro cery store remained open to service customers, and was even tapped by local govern ment units in the province as a supplier of relief goods.

Park hostage tragedy that claimed the lives of eight Hong Kong Chinese hostages and the hostage taker, a disgruntled ex-police officer. I won’t bore you with a detailed account but suffice it to say that you can research all about it in Google. I wondered whether President Bongbong Mar cos made the mistake in appointing Erwin Tulfo and not the other Tulfo, Sen. Raffy Tulfo, whose TV program ‘Isumbong Mo Kay Tulfo’ propelled him to nationwide fame sufficient enough to secure him a seat in the Senate. Raffy Tulfo’s handling of com plaints by ordinary citizens in his program showed him to be more qualified than Erwin, whose style is akin more to the eldest Tulfo brother, Ramon Tulfo. At any rate, what I know is that regardless of how other people see it, the cash aid assistance should be sustained by the national government because a lot of indigent families need it not only at this time but in the immediate known fu ture. Secretary Tulfo should stop blaming the people for misunderstanding his previ ous claim that there won’t be walk-in claimants. Only those listed online should be allowed to claim the cash aid at either the DSWD of fice or a designated venue. And yes, Secretary Tulfo should have secured the sup port of all local governments including Cagayan de Oro City Hall in their school cash aid distribution. As it is, Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy had to issue instructions to the CSWD to coordinate with the DSWD in order to avoid repeating the debacle. I hope that better work is done in distributing the educational cash aid to poor but deserving students.

In June, PNOC director Michael T. The project will never push through without China’s concur rence so PBBM must steel his resolve and override the Philippine oligarchs and proceed apace.
