A total of 53 patients are in hospitals, 115 have recovered, and 52 are active cases but are not con-fined in hospitals, sheEightadded.cases were con firmed as cholera based on the result of the rectal swab that was sent to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine. The city government has already ordered the closure of deep wells that were found positive for coli-form and E. coli while water refilling sta tions that were randomly tested and found to be positive for the bacteria will be subjected to con firmatory tests as cases of acute gastroenteritis (AGE).“When the water is positive for coliform, that means there is a risk that it is contaminated. It’s like a signal. If it is positive for E-coli, definitely the water is contaminated,” CHO officer in charge Annabelle Tang said in the same press confer ence.Tang said the city gov ernment has provided the affected areas with a static tank and coordinated with the Metro Pacific Iloilo Water for the pro vision of safe water. Over the weekend, bottled waters were also procured while the static tank was not yet available. Dr. Roland Fortuna, also of the CHO, said of the 32 water-refilling stations that were ran domly tested, four tested positive for E. coli and coliform and 14 have coliform bacteria. Of the 55 deep wells that were tested, 39 tested positive for E. coli and coliform and 15 have coliformFortunabacteria.saidall deep wells that have been closed would be chlori nated. He added that they also intend to disinfect with chlorine other deep wells in the city that are not in ar-eas with cases of AGE, but for now, priority would be given to those with clustering of cases.Based on the initial inventory of the CHO sanitary division, the city has nearly 20,000 deep wells alt-hough this is still subject to verification. Mayor Jerry Treñas also issued Executive Order 054 on Thursday, requiring all water-refill ing sta-tions in the city to submit to mandatory water potability testing through accredited labo ratories.“Due to the rapid in crease in AGE cases, there is a need to revisit and heighten the sanitary measures, particularly with all the water-refilling stations in the city,” the EOThesaid.CHO noted that there is still a possibility that the number of cases would rise as they carry out active monitoring. Sometimes we all could use a little extra pick-meup. Saying that life can be challenging would be an understatement. But it’s important to remember that life has its ups and downs and we need to keep pushing forward. Much like our “life is short” quotes, strength quotes, uplifting quotes, graduation quotes, and quotes about change, these life-changing quotes will inspire you to see things from a new perspective. And that may just be the nudge you need to make it through.Let’sthink or consider especially quietly, soberly, and deeply. Sometimes we feel our life is turning miser ably. Our negativism doesn’t allow us to keep our eyes, ears - and, most important! - our minds, hearts and souls opened. We reach our breaking point. This breaking point can be the prelude to our stron gest moment. It is when we reach our breaking point, that we discover our real strength. Allow me to ask you, my dear readers; “What happens to you or with you when you reach your breaking point?” Do you face it or do you run away?’ I’ll be giving you a very simple answer: If you face it - you break it. If you run away (and/or close your ears, eyes and mouth) - it breaksEverydayyou! - a dull reality! Many of us will answer this question with a big YES! Actually, who do we like to cover a newborn day already with a grey veil? Each day has a new face, but sometimes we don’t have the strength to watch its countenance. Of course, not every day has adventures andContraryhighlights.towhat might be expected, I look back on experiences that, at the same time, seemed especially desolating and painful with a particular satisfaction. Indeed, everything I have learned, everything that has enhancedtruly and enlightened my existence, has been through affliction and not through happiness. If it ever were to be pos sible to eliminate affliction from your earthly existence, the result would not be to make life delectable, but to make it too banal and trivial to be endurable. By observation, we can feel that many of us need help to manage our everyday life. We need something that would keep us going as we journey through life. Many times we can also learn from other people and their experiences.Blueeyed or very philo sophical but so very true: If the world is to be brought to order, my nation must be first changed.

When one’s life is unfettered from unbridled material ism, thus, debunking the mundane to focus on the sublime, that life will be governed by a Universal In telligence as such follows the biblical tenet of serving the least of our brethren. That life has given credence to the biblical declaration that says, “What would profit a man if he gains the whole world but suffers the loss of his soul?” Indeed, we are all consciousness (spirit} that is eternal more than form (body) which is transient. The development therefore of spiritual qualities that bring peace, joy and love must be the priority rather than the physical pursuit of wealth, power and fame which is just temporary. What makes the couple’s life of service most amazing was when they opted to live a life of suffering, of depri vation in a distant, difficult and deplorable place when the couple could have gone easily to the United States to have a life of comfort and wealth. What was even more amazing are the bless ings, the power, creativity and love that God endowed upon them, they used these qualities to extend kindness and wonderful services to the poor and the oppressed people and never to enrich Universal Intelligence Governs themselves or to gain pres tige. The couple’s amazing life of service miraculously brought forth the transfor mation of Wao which was then a very dangerous place to live when Christians and Moslems were killing each other. Amidst the risk of being killed any day, instead of moving to a peaceful and better place, the couple opted to remain in Wao based on a firm belief that their stay in Wao would have a stabilizing effect on those who had decided to be in Wao , courageously facing all the dangers and risk with a fervent prayer and firm belief that peace would reign in the land of the brave and the free. In deed, as biblically stated, “If you have faith even as small as a mustard seed, when you tell the mountain to move from here to there, it willThemove.”couple did encour age the residents to remain with that faith and courage in their hearts that peace would reign which finally came during the term of Atty. Remdios Guiab’s 10year Mayorship from 1988 to 1998, Her amazing leadership did transform Wao, even becoming a de velopment show-window to other poor municipalities In Mindanao. Amazing trans formation in Wao did hap pen, from being very poor people, the residents became well-off and Wao that was before a very troubled and dangerous place to live, became amazingly peaceful.

The nation is to be changed, my home town is to be reordered and must first be set right, my dear brothers and sisters. And, one step further: If my fam ily is to be regenerated, I MYSELF MUST FIRST BE! And here is one more thing: Affection is the hum blest love - it gives itself no airs. It lives with humble and private things: soft slippers, old clothes, old jokes, and the thump of a sleepy dog’s tail on the kitchen floor. DUMAGUETE CITY –Negros Oriental Governor Pryde Henry Teves is ask ing the Philippine National Police (PNP) that he be given the chance to choose the next provincial police director, as what is be-ing practiced at the provincial and local government levels. Provincial Capitol informa tion officer Oliver Lemence said Thursday Brig. Gen. Roque Vega, Police Regional Office 7 (Central Visayas) director, has promised to send three names of nomi nees for the position for Teves to choose from. This comes after the “con troversial” relief of Col. Germano Mallari as provin cial police director and the designation of Col. Jonathan Pineda as his replacement in an officer in charge capacity. The PNP national head quarters had first issued a relief order for Mallari on August 15, which was nul-lified on the same day. However, the following day, a similar order came out naming Pineda as the new OIC police director, pro vincial legal officer Ronel Depalubos said. “The governor was hurt by this move because he was not consulted,” he said during Wednesday’s regular Capitol press briefing. Teves had wanted Mallari to stay for continuity of the programs and projects that OFWs and their families with government offices and agencies for economic opportunities, services on safe migration and reintegra tion, psychosocial services, training opportu-nities, and other services that they need. It is also expected to develop a system of moni toring and referral from deployment up to their reinte-gration when they eventually come home. The office will be pro vided with an Internet con nection and telephone that can connect abroad. In the ordinance, 10 per cent of the annual budget of the PESO will be dedicated to the operations of the center.“This will cater to our Ilonggo OFWs and their families. We have thousands of Ilonggo OFWs,” Distura said. The ordinance will take effect immediately once signed by the governor, he said. The center was an off shoot of the Task Force Bulig Ilonggo that was established by the provincial govern ment at the height of the crisis in Syria in 2019, he added. ORDER A Petition is filed with this court by petitioner Julius Madrazo Legaspi of Purok-5, North Poblacion, Medina, Misamis Oriental, seeking to allow his son ELTHON JOHN CANDA to use the father’s surname LEGASPI in his Certificate of Live Birth, which showed that Elthon was born on March 9, 1998 in Medina, Misamis Oriental to parents Alma Amora Canda and Julius Madrazo Legaspi. Petitioner is seeking a judicial recourse in this petition, instead of availing himself of Republic Act No. 9255 because said law is applicable only to illegitimate children, although acknowledged, born on March 19, 2004 and thereafter, while the subject person ELTHON JOHN CANDA was born on March 9, 1998 or before the effectivity of R.A. 9255. The at tached Certificate of Marriage showed that Julius M. Legaspi was legally married on May 14, 2002 to Alma A. Canda, the mother of herein beneficiary, making ETHON JOHN CANDA a legitimate son of herein petitioner. Despite that legitimate filiation, the name of herein beneficiary remained as ELTHON JOHN CANDA in his birth certificate, voter’s certification and baptismal certificate. However, Elthon has been using the surname Legaspi since his childhood as shown in his elementary and high school diploma and certificates, and student assessment from for college, which reflect the name ELTHON JOHN C. LEGASPI. In order to eliminate any confusion regarding to identity of the beneficiary of this Petition, and needless complica tions in all of his personal and public records, the court is convinced that the present judicial remedy is proper, since any change in the entry in the Civil Register could be made only upon a judicial order.

With the enforcement of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partner-ship (TPP) and of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), offi cials are hashing out techni cal details of the Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific’s (FTAAP) multi-year work plan, rec-ognizing that the FTAAP agenda could be more deliberate and coherent with a clear plan of actions.
