Cops nab QC village chair, 20 others for intruding into a mining company in Agusan

ROSARIO, Agusan del Sur- - Local police arrested the barangay chairman from Metro Manila and about 20 other men who intruded the administration building of the gold mining company in this town.

Capt. Kristopher Niel Nono, police chief of the Municipal Police Station here, said a certain Joseph Mahusay, known as the chairman of Barangay Pansol in Quezon City, led some 11 convoy of cars to sneak through the gate by tailing the dump trucks carrying ores to forcibly gain

The administration building cars led by Quezon grashed entry going towards the façade of the building even as company guards tried to stopped and asked them to present their clearance.

Lawyer Luis Sy, Philsaga Mining Corp. (PMC) legal counsel, said they will charge Mahusay and his cohorts intially with tresspassing to private property case while further investigation by the company’s security personnel is going on.

Mahusay and his men were brought to the police station where they were interrogated for hours as investigators found out in their cars, three concealed Glock 17 pistols with reserved magazines of bullets, one belonged to a policeman who failed to present an authority to act as escort or security detail.

Sy said Mahusay’s forcible entry is illegal since the court order that he brought to serve to PMC executives inside the building was just a plea for the pending case against PMC President Raul C. Villanueva to be transferred to an appropriate court.

The order stemmed from a writ of injunction at a Davao City court filed by Mahusay against Villanueva for continuing to act as PMC president and member of the board of directors even if he already sold to Mahusay his shares of stocks with Philsaga Management

Three of the examinees from Misamis Oriental Province topped the recently concluded Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT)

The three top board passers were known as Ms. Gee Marriel Lozano Gaputan from Gingoog City, top 3 with 91.80 percent rating; Ms. Judilyn Lumajang, Top 6 of Opol town, with 91.20 percent. Both of them took the board for elementary education. While another top board passer was also known as Nelkhin Vios Gongob from Molugan, El Salvador City, Top 10 for secondary education board exam, with 91.00 percent.

Ms Lumajang graduated Summa Cum Laude at Liceo de Cagayan University in Cagayan de Oro, while Mr Gongob also graduated as Cum Laude at Cagayan de Oro College - Phinma Education network. The three topnotchers from Misamis Oriental were among the 72,824 board exam takers for both elementary and secondary levels it was learned.

Meanwhile, Misamis Oriental Governor Peter Unabia thanked the successful examinees from the province, and especially those who topped the board exams for teachers.
