Maguindanao Norte road mishap leaves 6 dead, 13 hurt

Maguindanao del Norte –A freak highway accident along the national highway here has claimed the lives of six persons and injured 13 others, police said Monday.

Sgt. Benjamin Bedo, Datu Odin Sinsuat traffic investigator, said a pickup truck, a loaded passenger van, and a tricycle were involved in the 4:30 a.m. Sunday highway mishap in Barangay Kurinte.

“Five of the fatalities on board the passenger van were to attend a family reunion in Maguindanao del Sur (province) when the incident occurred,” Bedo said.

He identified the fatalities as Unasan Kaul, the passenger van driver and resident of Guindulungan, Maguindanao del Sur; and his passengers Norhaimin Baloadek, Manaut Guialudin, Kaidu Manalsal, and Mamakong Salimbao, all of Gen. S.K. Pendatun town.

Before the court is a petition for declaration of nullity of marriage filed by petitioner through counsel Atty.

Louie Leister I. Rosales.

Records check, the petition seeks leave of court to effect summons by publication pursuant to A.M No. 02-11-10-SC and Section 16 of Rule 14 of the Amended Rules of Civil Procedure. Moreover, the petition briefly states the following:

That petitioner and respondent are of legal age, Filipinos, married to each other; petitioner is a resident of P-1 Brgy. Malapong, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte; while respondent’s last known address was Agay-ayan, Misamis Oriental; the marriage was not blessed with issue; no real properties were acquired during the marriage; petitioner suffers extreme anxiety and depression caused by her torturous marital life, petitioner would eventually succumb to even worse health conditions, such as toxic goiter complications, kidney problems, weak heart, urinary tract infection, multiple myoma, nabothian cyst, insomnia, and anemia, but still respondent did not show the slightest care, and did not even bother to contribute any financial support for her medication; just as petitioner appeared to be on the verge of death, respondent abandoned her permanently, leaving her with no support (whether financial, emotional or physical), as he opted to live with his mother in Misamis Oriental; aggravating his effrontery, respondent committed infidelity with plans of contracting a bigamous marriage with the latter; respondent’s frequent emotional abuse, sexual brutality, promiscuity, infidelity, abandonment of petitioner when she was dying, and the continuous neglect of petitioner’s well-being, altogether manifest a psychological incapacity to fulfill essential marital obligations.

Whereof, finding merit in the motion, leave of court to serve summons by publication is hereby granted. Petitioner is hereby ordered to cause the publication of this summons once a week for two (2) consecutive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation in the Philippines at the expense of the petitioner. In addition, a copy of the summons shall be served on the respondent at his last known address by registered mail. Respondent, is hereby ordered to answer herein petition within thirty (30) days from the last date of publication.

DAVAO CITY – A new commander of the 1003rd Infantry Brigade (1003IB) has promised to continue the gains that his predecessor has achieved in preventing the resurgence of the New People’s Army (NPA).
