Architecture, design and visual communication are the focal points of every single issue. l’Arca International is the result of a publishing project that began thirty years ago and which, thanks to the awareness and enthusiasm of its founders, has constantly updated itself through new content, columns, sections and contributions. It was back in 1986 when Cesare Maria Casati, a designer, architect and follower of Gio Ponti and also the former editor-in-chief of Domus, set up the publishing house l’Arca Edizioni Spa and the magazine l’Arca in Milan, which immediately made its mark on the international publishing scene due to its originality, the quality of its contents and its innovative and carefully designed graphics. When in 1994 the editor met the businessman from Monaco, Edmond Pastor, a real enthusiast and connoisseur of the world of architecture, it was the start of a brand-new publishing enterprise: the creation of the publishing and events management company S.A.M. MDO based in Monte Carlo and also the project for a new magazine called l’Arca International, a two monthly edition of l’Arca published in French/English, whose first issue came out in 1996. In 2012 the quest towards innovation and change resulted in one single edition in three languages called l’Arca International being published by S.A.M. MDO in Monte Carlo.
