PROJECTS

1

FINESTRA ABITATA UNIVERSITY PROJECT PROF. GENNARO POSTIGLIONE

the project is inspired by works of gio ponti and his finestra arredata (furnished window) in particular gio ponti treats the window the same way he does the wall ponti’s window is no more “hole” but a functional surface where to set shells, books, paintings

finestra abitata (habitet window) is a will to go futher trasforming the window to a habitet space

2

the aim of this course is a requalification of minimal urban spaces in milan our minimal urban space were two green triangles in front of via dezza 49 home of gio ponti that’s the reason we decided to recreate one of his environments underlining connection with nature through the “window” project creates two view points. the first works with ponti’s house and the second with the park thanks to pallet benches oriented in both senses

3

from immagination to reality from project to construction

finestra abitata won the competition inside design studio and was chosen to be constructed. and that was amazing! ...but after we were obliget to dicrease the project’s dimensions and to remove the pavement with beautiful gio ponti’s painting for the reasons of budget and so on

in spite of all the difficulties we made it!

ISTANBUL WATERFRONT PARK UNIVERSITY PROJECT PROF. PAOLO BELLONI

the purpose of this architectural design studio is to create a public space working with themes such as limit and waterfront. the project area is located on bosphorus close to galata district, a part of historical center of the city unfortunately, there are almost no green park areas in istanbul center. moreover, which is even more surprising, the city, which lays on bosphorus shore have just a few point of access to the water. the reason is that historically the water was always considered as something hostile

the purpose of intervention is to create a three levels park. the upper level is a pavement “piazza” with an open-air exhibition space for students of mirmar university, bar and bus stop. the big roof is provided to protect people from sun and rain. the middle level is a proper green park to lay down in, take sun bathes or read a book and enjoy time with friends. the down level – closest to the water – is a sport area with a children playground and a bar for their parents

studying of sections is fundamental to understand different ground levels (natural topography) and relationship with water
