Bits and Bites What’s new, cool, and happening on “One Gourmet Happy Island” Cheers to the Aruba Ariba!
The Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino celebrated the 55th anniversary of the famous Aruba Ariba cocktail last year by awarding its original creator, Juan “Jocky” Tromp, with a Certificate of Recognition. He invented it on July 1, 1963, when he was working at the old Aruba Caribbean Resort where the Hilton now stands. Incidentally, Tromp originally called it “Ariba Aruba,” but no matter how you say it, this delicious long-standing libation is still the most popular and iconic cocktail on the island.
