Cosmopolitan Cancun Sleek & Sophisticated Secrets The Vine

I
t was no surprise that Secrets the Vine was chosen as the perfect host for the 3rd annual Cancun/Rivera Maya Wine & Food Festival since it’s the only wine-themed resort in the region (4,500 bottles in their cellar), and the sleek new adult-only upscale all-inclusive perfectly exemplifies the kind of modern, sophisticated vibe the event was out to capture. As invited international media, we were treated like royalty, though most guests at this resort must already feel like VIPs. The service, the accommodations and the over-the-top all-inclusive offerings are bound to make anyone feel extra special. And our Preferred Club Master Suite was so spacious we could have held our own event! Floor-to-ceiling window-walls open onto a seemingly endless wrap-around balcony topping spectacular views of the emerald lagoon, an aqua sea, and the ribbon of resorts lined along a blindingly white beach. But as difficult as it was to leave our delightful digs, which included 24/7 room service and top shelf spirits replenished daily, we had much to explore in a short period of time. First up was the Secrets Spa by Pevonia for top flight massage treatments and a stellar water circuit looking out on the waves. Next it was the Preferred Club infinity pool, where you can float on a water mat and feel like you are floating above the sea. Then down to the main pool area for more infinity pools, a waterfall and whirlpool, and finally down to soft white sands, where day beds and beachside cocktail service were waiting steps from a warm and gently restless Caribbean sea. Perfection. And at every turn, complimentary cocktails
and snacks, indoor/outdoor casual dining and full service meals at your leisure at six a la carte dining spots – no reservations required – were also tempting us to indulge as part of their trademark Unlimited Luxury® program. Plus, we were also expected to wine and dine at most of the special festival events! So it was a good thing it was only a four-day stay as I might have had to book an extra airline seat for the way home had it been any longer. (But it would have been worth it!)
