Happy New Year!

Christmas decorating schemes

Glam it up: Choose dramatic black and fuchsia decorations for an ultra glamorous Christmas scheme. Shades of fuchsia and damson look sumptuous teamed with black and metallic accessories. Choose a black artificial tree with baubles in shades of fuchsia and damson, and accessorise the room with rich velvet and silk cushions and throws in the same tones. Keep it simple: You don't have to go over the top to get a Christmassy feel. A gorgeouslooking tree and just a few well-placed decorations are sometimes all you need. If you have a fireplace, position a large mirror or wreath above, then group a collection of candlesticks, picture frames and foliage on the mantlepiece. Keep to a simple silver and white colour scheme when it comes to the tree, with glitter baubles, frosted snowflakes, crystal drops and twinkling white fairy lights. Rich and sophisticated: Rich berry shades always make a room feel warm and welcoming, but against a matt grey backdrop, this scheme looks chic and contemporary. For Christmas, keep decorations modern, with a mix of pink, raspberry and purple baubles, contrasted against silver and mercury glass. Classical elegance: When it comes to Christmas decorations, you can't get more classic than festive holly and berry garlands, natural foliage, and a real Christmas tree decked with red and gold coloured baubles. Add more of the red and gold accent colour around the room with ribbons, cushions and throws in classic tweeds and tartans. Scandinavian style: Scandinavian style is epitomised by its use of painted furniture in simple colour schemes of blues, white and reds. At Christmas add simple homespun baubles in red and white mixed with rustic twigs and knitted decorations to complement the nostalgic setting. Winter wonderland: Be inspired by the wintry landscape outdoors and create a winter wonderland Santa would be proud of! Use a cool colour palette of white and blue decorations and go all-out with the glitter! Don't forget - Decorating the house for Christmas is the fun part, but you'll also need to think about practicalities, too. Think about rearranging the living room furniture so there's plenty of space for friends and family to gather and add extra occasional furniture, such as footstools and tray tables, which can be moved around easily. Tidy away any clutter, so there are clear surfaces for resting drinks and snacks on. Finally, set the mood with lowlevel lighting, such as table lamps and twinkling fairy lights, and light a scented Christmas candle to give a welcoming festive fragrance - You can pick up your free Manuel Canovas candle worth ÂŁ12.95 with every order placed during December with this leaflet.
