Insert the needle between the stitches, knitwise, pull the loop through and place on your left hand needle, fairly tightly. Knit this loop and the first stitch on the left hand needle together. pattern Note First 2 and last 2 stitches are knit on every row, for entire scarf, creating a garter stitch border.

Rep Smocking Stitch Section and Stockinette Section until 4" short of desired length of scarf, ending with a smocking section. Beginning with a WS row, work 7 rows of the rib pattern, followed by one rep of Double Seed Stitch Section. Finishing BO in pattern. Weave in ends. Block to specified dimensions.
