Phonics Samples The new release of Spellzoo phonics resources consists of the vowel digraphs: 'er' (bird), 'ow' (cow), 'e' (head), 'u' (jump), 'or' (acorn) and 'air' (bear). They are not age specific but are designed to provide extra phonic practice, and vocabulary extension, where needed.
These samples show the range of resources available. Each sound used has three levels. Set 1 consists of words or one or two syllables. Sets 2 and 3 consists of polysyllabic words. Dictionary definitions are included for all the words, but are dependent on the activity and answer keys are included. The resources available are: Matching definitions - reinforces the student s comprehension and writing abilities. Word Jumbles - gives the student practice in reading, recalling and writing the spelling words. Own Sentences - Students write their own sentences to show that they understand the word in context. If you would like a different activity, using any of the word lists on Spellzoo, or for any other information, please contact: sue@spellzoo.co.uk
