Prologue

While attending my HKU elective course, “Digital Media and Methods,” I got a chance to enhance my ability in using grasshopper. I have been thinking of forming actual, practical use in relation to each parametric modeling technique. I experimented with new forms and geometries by parametric modeling techniques, and I learned through exchanging ideas with classmates to see more variation and possibilities of forms in response to climate. At last, my groupmates and I used Arduino and laser-cut screenboards to create a prototype in the form of a canopy that is light-sensitive. We designed it to be open and close according to the extent of sun strength and sun angle. It is the process of becoming and being responsive by using my own voice to the ongoing climate change.
