2016 Commencement Speaker: Dany Lennon Montague P’13 Headmaster Charlie Cahn met Dany Lennon Montague P’13 when she brought her son, Mack Montague, for an interview in 2009. They hit it off immediately. “Dany is direct, funny, and very smart,” he said. “She asks pointed questions that always seem to highlight the most essential issues.” Dany is in the representation game: dealing with executive searches, headhunting, and human resources. She leads a firm called The Creative Register and focuses mostly on talent in the media, communications, and marketing fields. Her career began in England in the 1980s as a copywriter and art director. This is also where she started the Junior Register. She would privately teach aspiring creatives the basics of art direction and copywriting and, using her network, place them in agencies. Dany came to the United States after noticing in London that there was a void when it came to creative representation. So she started a talent management firm that combined facets of agenting and representation. The Creative Register is an exclusive company that represents accomplished creative makers and thought leaders worldwide. Dany represents and connects talent in communications, marketing, and other creative fields. She seeks to affect change that creates better, more productive environments, which embrace the future. The company is also committed to encouraging responsibility to human life and purposefulness and to making contributions that are both physically and mentally healthy. Dany’s work is always evolving, and it is complex and challenging in an era of dramatic fluidity in entertainment and communications. She says that while her job has remained largely the same for four decades, the blurring of lines among brands, agencies, and entertainment has made it more challenging, with managing people and careers now being harder than ever. Mr. Cahn noted that, in addition to her professional success and keen sense of humor, Dany is a passionate fan of Suffield. Her son excelled here and just completed his junior year at University of Rochester. “Dany’s love for the school, engaging personality, and genuine concern for others led us to ask her to share this special day with us.” Suffield is pleased to welcome Dany Lennon Montague P’13 as our guest speaker at the 2016 Commencement.
