What if I can’t make the 23rd August? It is really important that you are available to enrol on the 23rd August. However, if you can’t make this date, then make sure you let us know well in advance. If you haven’t already done so please email: admissions@suffolkone.ac.uk

Please let us know the dates that you are unavailable and the date that you will be available to enrol. We will then get back to you with the process for enrolment. Please be aware that we must still receive your results on 23rd August. Demand for places is high, failure to notify us of your absence may result in us not being able to offer you a place on a course in September.

4

Can someone else enrol for me? No, unfortunately you can’t have another person enrol on your behalf. We need to see you in person to take your ID photo and sign some paperwork. Please email: admissions@suffolkone.ac.uk

with the date of when you will be able to come in and we will get back to you with the alternative enrolment process.

I want to swap a subject. How can I do this? Please email us at: admissions@suffolkone.ac.uk

with the changes you would like to make and we will be in touch. The deadline for making course changes is 6th July 2018. If you miss this date you will be able to request changes at enrolment. What happens if I don’t get the results I need? Please come along to enrolment as planned on 23rd August. We will discuss your options with you and where possible enrol you onto another course. If you don’t get the results you need, please head to the Performance Space at enrolment. We will have a team on hand at enrolment to go through your options with you. 5

Work Experience Some courses at One require you to undertake relevant work experience; these courses include: Beauty, Health and Social Care, Motor Vehicle, Sport and Engineering. For these courses, work experience placements are compulsory in order for you to pass your BTEC course. Other courses may offer optional work experience. For compulsory work experience, it is essential that you pay your work experience costs at enrolment on 23rd August in order to be enrolled on your course. Please ensure you bring a payment method along with you to enrolment. A work experience placement not only enhances your knowledge, it also provides an insight into a job or industry, giving you the experience to move forward within your chosen career. The length of time you spend at your work experience placement will vary depending on the course. Some courses require one day of work experience per week over the course of 12-16 weeks, whilst others may spend a full week block at their placement. You will be expected to attend every session to ensure you cover the required number of hours for your chosen course. Work experience costs include administration fees and necessary training or DBS checks prior to the work experience placement taking place, details of these costs can be found on the following pages of this booklet and on the website. Here at One we have a dedicated member of staff who will guide you through the process of securing your placement. More information can be found on our website at: suffolkone.ac.uk/prospective-students/work-experience/ 7
