“The quality of teaching and achievement of students is outstanding.”

Our high quality teaching and learning has been recognised

by Ofsted. For our second Ofsted inspection, we were judged as an ‘outstanding’ provider of education.

Welcome to One I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to One; we are delighted that you have taken the time to visit us. We hope that by the time you leave, you will have a full understanding of the courses on offer and the commitment we have to ensuring that all students at One are given the opportunity to raise and reach their aspirations. We have a first class staff team and you can be sure that you will get the very best teaching, support and resources you need to make a success of your time at One and realise your ambitions. Since we opened visitors to One have commented on the positive, purposeful and highly professional atmosphere, relating it to a ‘mini university’, this is not by accident. We believe that we have established excellent relationships between students and staff who work in partnership to achieve the very best. I look forward to meeting you.

Independent Study

Come along to this popular learning space, positioned prominently at the heart of One and see for yourself all that it has to offer.

On each Student’s college timetable their will be some Independent Study sessions - during which students are expected to use their time productively. Research shows that students who make the most of this time achieve higher results.

Resources We provide text books to support students in their course - some are available online and others in print. Inclusivity We boast an accessible and inclusive learning environment with a variety of resources in a range of different formats, together with an array of helpful, assistive technologies. Borrowing Resources can be borrowed from the LRC and Learning Zones using the One identity badge. Different lengths of loan can be arranged depending on requirements. Access to Computers One has an extensive range of computers including laptops, MacBooks and tablets. In addition the building has been designed to enable students to easily use their own devices to support them with their curriculum work. Printing We have a Printer/Photocopier/Scanner in the LRC that is available for students to use.

We offer a mixture of silent, quiet and group study areas. Students can choose to work individually or as a group. The LRC staff can help students make the most of this new way of studying by tailoring Study Support sessions to meet the individual needs of students.
