ENROLMENT FOR YEAR 12 STUDENTS 2017-2018

The Enrolment Process

2017-18

We are delighted that you will be joining us at One in September. Enrolment is where we sign you up for your chosen course and is the next stage in your academic journey. Once you have picked up your results from your school on Thursday 24th August please come into One bringing your GCSE results and any GCSEs you completed early. Please also bring a copy of your results that we can retain for our records. Please come in at the designated time for your programme choice.

Times: If you are enrolling for a BTEC Extended programme please come to One between 10.00am-12.30pm. If you are enrolling for an A Level programme please come to One between 1pm-3.45pm.


When you arrive, please go to the designated zone according to your surname: Green Zone............. Surnames A–C Yellow Zone.............Surnames D–G Orange Zone........... Surnames H–L If you are enrolling on a Beauty course please ensure you go to the salon after completion of the enrolment process to have your uniform fitting and to complete an order form for your kit.

Purple Zone............ Surnames M–R Turquoise Zone........ Surnames S–Z

You do not need to attend enrolment twice if you are taking an A Level or BTEC Extended Certificate course alongside an Extended BTEC course, this is all done at the same time.


At enrolment you will be given an induction booklet that contains the following information:

a Bring your own device (BYOD) a Finance information a Educational visit consent information

a Work

experience information (for courses with a work experience element)

We will take your photograph to produce your ID card that you will use throughout your duration at One. In order to complete your registration with us you need to go to the website, read our policies on Student Code of Conduct, ICT User Agreement and the other relevant documents and fill in the registration form to confirm you have read these.

What if I don’t get the Results I’m Expecting?

If you find you haven’t got the results you were expecting, please still come in to Enrolment on 24th August. Make your way to the performance space where we will have a team of highly trained staff to help talk through your options and where possible sign you up for an alternative course. Students who receive a 3 or below in Maths may have to sit a short assessment.


Want to Booked a Holiday Change your Programme? over Enrolment? We can look into changing your course(s) when you come in to enrol. If you would like to change one or all of your A Level or BTEC Subsidiary courses then please still go to your designated zone. If you would like to change onto, or change your chosen BTEC Extended course please go straight to the Performance Space.

If you are away on holiday on 24th August please ensure you email: admissions@suffolkone.ac.uk with the date you leave and return from your holiday. We will discuss how to send us your results and alternative ways to enrol. If we do not receive your results on 24th August we may be unable to guarantee you a place in September. Resource Deposit A ÂŁ40 resource deposit for the loan of books and other materials and use of the printers needs to be paid before the start of your course. ÂŁ30 of the deposit will be refunded on the return of all resources, prior to you leaving. To pay your deposit please go to: onecollege-shop.co.uk

Course Materials and Work Experience Costs

For compulsory work experience, it is essential that you pay your work experience costs at enrolment on 24th August in order to be enrolled onto your course. Please ensure you bring a payment method along with you. The work experience costs can be found on our website here: suffolkone.ac.uk/prospective-students/work-experience/ Please go to: onecollegeshop.co.uk to find out what course materials you need to purchase before the start of term.

Financial Support Financial support is available through our 16-19 Bursary for students from low income families. Please go to www.suffolkone.ac.uk/information/finance-one/16-19-bursary-fund to find out if you are eligible for support and to fill in our online application form.


Suffolk One has set up routes to help students get to college. Please see our website for further details and to apply for the One Bus: www.suffolkone.ac.uk/prospective-students/ travelling-campus and fill in the online application form. All other bus routes are run by Suffolk County Council. To apply for a bus pass for these buses please go to their website: www.suffolkonboard.com

When studying at One we provide you with all the necessary equipment needed for your course. We have lots of students who bring their own laptops and other devices to campus. You can find information on our website about how to connect your device to our network meaning you can work on your documents at home or at college.
