Enrolment 2019-20

The Enrolment Process We are delighted that you will be joining us at One in September. Enrolment is where we sign you up for your chosen course and is the next stage in your academic journey. Once you have picked up your results from your school on Thursday 22nd August, please come to One bringing your GCSE results and any GCSEs you completed early. Please also bring a copy of your results that we can retain for our records. Please come in at the designated time for your offered programme.

Enrolment Times: If you are enrolling for a BTEC Extended programme please come to One between:

9am-12.30pm. If you are enrolling for an A Level programme please come to One between:

1pm-3.45pm.


Where do I Need to go to Enrol? When you arrive, please go to the designated zone according to the surname breakdown below. However, if you are enrolling onto any or all of these A Level subjects: Maths, Biology, Chemistry or Physics, then you will need to enrol in the Orange Zone. You can enrol anytime between 9am-3:45pm.

Please be aware that enrolment can be very busy and therefore waiting times may vary. We always endeavour to get you enrolled onto your course as soon as we can! If you are enrolling onto a Beauty course please ensure you go to the salon after completion of the enrolment process to have your uniform fitting and to complete an order form for your kit.

You only need to attend enrolment once Regardless of your subject combination, your enrolment will all be done at the same time.


Booked a Holiday over Enrolment? If you are away on holiday on 22nd August make sure you email: admissions@suffolkone.ac.uk

In order to complete all the steps of your enrolment with us you will need to visit the website, read our policies on Student Code of Conduct, ICT User Agreement and the other relevant documents.

We will let you know how to send us your results and the alternative enrolment process. If we do not receive your results on 22nd August we may be unable to guarantee you a place in September.

Want to Change your Programme? If you’re undecided on your course choices, you can discuss this at enrolment. To change one of your A Levels or BTEC Certificate courses head to your designated zone. If you would like to change a BTEC Extended course or more than one A Level, head to the Performance Space. Please visit our website to find out more about enrolment.

What if I don’t get the Results I’m Expecting? If you find you haven’t got the results you were expecting, please still come to Enrolment on 22nd August. Make your way to the performance space where we will have a team of highly trained staff to help talk through your options and where possible sign you up for an alternative course. Students who receive a 3 or below in Maths will have to sit a short assessment.

We will take your photograph to produce your ID card, you will use your ID card throughout the duration of your studies at One. When studying at One we provide you with all the necessary equipment needed for your course. We have lots of students who bring their own laptops and other devices to college. You can find information on our website about how to connect your device to our network meaning you can work on your documents at home or at college.

One has set up dedicated routes from Felixstowe and Stowmarket and Claydon to help students get to college. Our website has full details and explains how to apply: All other bus routes are run by Suffolk County Council. Learning Resource Payment All students, regardless of course, are required to pay £40.00 when they join One. This enables the use of all facilities and to loan resources within the college. £20.00 will be refunded at the end of the course if all resource items have been retured in good order, subject to there being no other outstanding debt or fees.

Course Costs For compulsory work experience, it is essential that you pay your work experience costs at enrolment on 22nd August in order to be enrolled onto your course. Please ensure you bring a payment method along with you. The work experience costs can be found on our website here: suffolkone.ac.uk/prospective-students/ work-experience/ Please go to: onecollegeshop.co.uk to find out what course materials you need to purchase before the start of term.

Financial Support Financial support is available through our 16-19 Bursary for students from low income families. Please go to suffolkone.ac.uk/information/finance-one/16-19-bursary-fund to find out if you are eligible for support and to fill in our online application form. If you are a young parent, you may be entitled to childcare funding. Speak to a member of the Finance team about the care to Learn scheme.

Refunds During your time at One you may want to claim a refund for resources or a trip, this is at the discretion of the directorate. If a refund is awarded, the finance team will contact the student for bank details. The refund will become void if bank details are not received within a 6-week period. Claims under £10 will be paid with Learning Resource refund at the end of your course.
