BTEC College of the Year 2018!

In 2018 we were awarded BTEC college of the year. We pride ourselves on the outstanding education, support and facilities that we offer to all our students and we’re so pleased that this has been recognised!

Lost Property

We do our best to reunite lost property with the owner. All lost property is collected and stored securely. If you’ve lost an item please check with the main reception desk. Items are kept for a term; unclaimed items will then be disposed of in a suitable manner.

Facilities

Students can access the building during term time from 8am until 5pm weekdays. You will be notified of non - term time opening hours separately. Full detailed information on fire evacuation, use of your ID card and building access can be found on our website.

Work Experience

We acknowledge the benefits of a work based placement and how these can prepare you for your next step. The skills gained will benefit you when writing personal statements and CV’s. Work experience will allow you to talk with and observe skilled and qualified people who can give you a great idea of what their job involves as well as an opportunity to network and find contacts. We will not be running this in the same way due to COVID 19 - more information will be given to students as it becomes available.

LRC

We have some fantastic facilities available in our Learning Resource Centre. You can borrow these resources by using your Student ID card.

One Community Now you’re part of the One community, we hope you’ll do your bit to carry on the positive ethos we strive for at One. We think it’s really important that our students and staff work in a tidy, uncluttered and relaxed atmosphere. Please help us keep it this way by clearing away your litter and respecting your surroundings. This year, many of our students have been keen on ‘going green’ and therefore we’re trying to do our bit for the environment by introducing green initiatives: As you will have heard in the news, plastic coffee cups are a huge problem for the environment. That’s why we’re promoting the use of thermal mugs. You can even purchase one from us for just £3! We have many more green initiatives taking place too, such as: biodegradable salad boxes, edible straws and more on the horizon. Join the One Environment Group to have your say on the One Environment and surrounding communities.

Enrich your One Experience

We have so many amazing clubs that you can get involved in! Universities, Apprenticeships and Employers love to see you’re being proactive, so we encourage you to think of your future! • Biology Olympiad • LRC Ambassador • Chemistry Olympiad • Music Clubs • Creative Writing Club • Music on the Bridge • Debating Team • One Magazine • Extended Project • One Plus • Games Club • Reading Ahead • Gravity Racer • Robotics Club • Institute of Directors • Sports Clubs • LGBT • Student Voice
