GENERAL INFORMATION & SALES NOTES LOCATION

The Sale will be held under cover in Monmouthshire Livestock Centre.

MAEDI VISNA

All entries will be from MV Accredited Flocks.

The appropriate documentation must accompany the sheep to Market.

NUMBERING

All sheep must be numbered with their respective Lot Number before arrival on the Saleground.

SUBSTITUTES

All substitute sheep must be marked with a red dot of 1 inch in diameter on the back, behind the Lot Number.

INSPECTION

All sheep must have correct earmarking, correct mouths and conformation. Sheep not measuring up to these requirements will not be accepted. Any Ewe not correct in the udder to be advised to the Auctioneers. Breeders are asked to refrain from entering known Cudspillers.

SCANNING

All ewes will be scanned on the morning of the sale.

SERVICE INFORMATION

As stated in the Catalogue.

For the attention of Potential Flock Owners: Applications for the registration of new flocks can only be considered where the applicant has a minimum of TWO pure bred Suffolk Female Sheep, all of which must have been bred in an already registered flock and properly earmarked in accordance with the Society’s Regulations. Applications must be made before 31st October 2014.

All new flocks are subject to an inspection by a Society Inspector during April, May or June in the year following application. The Inspector will inspect for correct tattooing, good conformation and correctness in the mouth.

It is only when the Society receives a satisfactory Inspector’s report that the new flock owner will be permitted to ear-mark lambs born in his flock that year and to exhibit and/or sell his sheep as pure bred Suffolk Sheep.

In the year following a satisfactory inspection the flock will be entered in the Society’s Flock Book as a registered Flock.

COMMISSIONS

The Auctioneers will carefully execute commissions to purchase on behalf of buyers unable to attend the sale in person, upon receipt of written instructions.

All Sheep will be sold in guineas (105p) and in strict Catalogue order.

All Sheep are sold subject to the General Conditions of Sale as printed below.

Any complaint for unsoundness in the udder must be made to the Auctioneers within one hour after the completion of the sale of the final lot or before the removal of the animal from the sale premises whichever is the sooner, otherwise no claim will be entertained.

The Flock is the current holder of the Keeble Cup, won in last years' National Flock Competition for Flocks of 60100 ewes, along with Reserve in the Howard Peel Cup for the Group of Stock Rams. The Flock was Champion Flock in the Western Area Flock Competition in 2010 & 2012, (last twice entered), and Champion Stock Ram in 2010 with Deveronside Dell-Boy. The WCSSA Club Champion Flock has been won on 5 occasions with 7 Champion Tups. Both ewes & gimmers have been fed grass only since February, except for on sale day. They are in the Heptavac P system and all gimmers and 3 crop ewes are vaccinated every year with Toxovax.

CONDITIONS OF SALE 1. All stock is sold subject to the Conditions of Sale, recommended for use at Markets by the Livestock Auctioneers’ Market Committee for England & Wales, as displayed at the Auctioneers’ Pay Office. The vendor, bidder & purchaser shall be deemed to have full knowledge of these Conditions and to agree to be bound by them. These conditions shall apply to the sale of any pedigree stock save in so far as they conflict with any Special Conditions expressly applicable to the sale of such stock, when the latter Conditions shall prevail.

2. All lots are accepted for sale on the terms that the vendor warrants his right to proceedings, claims, demands, costs, charges & expenses to which they may be exposed or which they may incur by reason of any defect in the vendor’s title.

3. The Auctioneers act in all respects only as agents for the vendor and it shall be deemed that no condition or warranty expressed or implied has in any circumstances been given by the auctioneers or any servant of the auctioneers, whether as to title, description, the quality of any lot sold or otherwise. The auctioneers and their servants shall not incur liability to the purchaser in any respect of any defect of title, error of description or imperfection or in respect of any announcement or statement relating to or affecting any lot offered for sale whether made orally or in writing and whether given before, during or after the auction, nor shall they incur any liability in relation to any dispute between any purchaser and vendor.

4. All animals are at the risk of the vendor before sale and at the risk of the purchaser after sale.

5. Neither the vendor nor the Auctioneers will be responsible for any accidents or injury to persons or property, through fire or any other case whatsoever.

6. The Auctioneers reserve the right to refuse to accept bids from a vendor and they reserve on behalf of themselves and of the vendor the following rights:- (a) to fix a reserve price; (b) to bid on behalf of the vendor; (c) to re-arrange, consolidate or withdraw any lots or vary the order of sale; and (d) without giving any reason therefore, to refuse to accept the bids of any person.

7. The person making the highest accepted bid shall be the purchaser.

8. No bid shall be retracted.

9. If a dispute arises as to any bidding, then at the discretion of the Auctioneers, either:(a) the lot to which the disputed bid relates shall immediately be put up again, or (b) the auctioneers shall determine the dispute, and their decision shall be final and binding on all parties.

10. The Purchaser shall, if and when required, give his name and address to the auctioneers, and shall if required, pay to the auctioneers the purchaser money for each lot on the fall of the hammer, or so soon thereafter as the auctioneers may require.

11. Purchasers paying by cheque must be prepared, if required, to produce a bankers reference.

12. No lot shall be removed from the sale premises until a written delivery order has been given by or on behalf of the auctioneers.

13. Each lot shall, at the purchaser’s expense, be removed from the sale premises within a reasonable time after the close of the day’s sale.

14. (a) If a purchaser fails to comply with any of the preceding Conditions, the auctioneers may cause the lot in respect of which the failure is made to be re-sold by public or private sale without warranty or reserve and without notice to the purchaser.

(b) If upon re-sale as aforesaid a lower price is obtained for any lot than was obtained on the first sale, the difference in price together with all costs and charges attending the re-sale, shall be a debt due from the purchaser in default at the first sale.
