Bharat Ratna Honâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ble Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former Prime Minister of India, while inaugurating a Rain Basera at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on March 3, 1996, said, "Sulabh International can be depended upon for doing good works. It has made commendable efforts to abolish scavenging from the country."
Bharat Ratna Late Hon'ble Shri J.R.D. Tata, who inaugurated the Sulabh Public Convenience, sponsored by Tata Group of Companies near Metro Cinema, Dhobi Talao, Mumbai, on May 15, 1991, had said, "This Sulabh Public Convenience is an ICON in our Mumbai's Civic Infrastructures". Hon'ble Smt. Bakul Patel (Sheriff) and Hon'ble Shri Nana Chudasama were also present on the occasion.
SULABH BUILDS THE WORLD'S BIGGEST TOILET-CUM-BATH COMPLEX IN PANDHARPUR (MAHARASHTRA)
This is the worldâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s biggest toilet complex constructed by Sulabh International in Pandharpur near Pune, Maharashtra. It has provisions of 2,848 toilet units with lavatories, bath cubicles, 39 toilets for physically challenged people and 382 toilets for VIPs. At present, 2 lakh people are using these facilities daily. From next year when fully completed, 4 lakh people will be able to use these facilities daily. It has amenities like lockers, dressing rooms and health centres for first-aid and paramedical services with doctors. Sulabh volunteers maintain these complexes round the clock and keep them spic and span for the use of the pilgrims.
