GLORY TOWERS
01 / 2020 / HIP HOP + ARCHITECTURE The challenge was to visualize a just City which matches the demands in hip hop music. This open call for submissions was a chance for architecture students, rappers, singers, designers, artists and hip-hop fans to use hip hop’s protest music as prompts for imaging a just City. A City which has dismantled and defeated racism. The song Glory by Common featuring and produced by john Legend for the film Selma begins with the lyrics: [Chorus: John Legend] One day when the glory comes It will be ours, it will be ours One day when the war is won We will be sure, we will be sure Oh glory (Glory, glory) Ohh (Glory, glory) These lyrics represent the reason and solution of the marches, looting, and anger towards the end of racism. “One day when the glory comes it will be ours, it will be ours.”, express similarities to the famous “I have a dream” speech by Martin Luther King, where they both use an anaphora to imagine a day when racism and inequality ends. Furthermore, these lyrics depict the concept of glory being the end of the fight against racism, gender Inequality, homophobia and etc. In addition, this shows the beginning of the glory where humanity becomes one, and all can come as they are, and not face any type of judgement or hurt. The first image is a creative depiction of the glory (Just city), where two races can come together and become one. In this piece, the lyrics from the song Glory, absorbs into the skins of the two different races and unites them through the meaning of the lyrics. The second piece merges the concept of the first piece and turns a 3D diagram of just city which takes on a linear design to emphasize the idea of a march. In addition, this city is influenced by six of the greatest marches that have impacted our world thus far. Each section of this city has been given names to pay homage to the significant marches and what it stood for. The last piece is a detailed perspective of significant points in this city that display’s the entry, middle grounds and the city which finishes off with the glory towers.

THE ALLEY CORRIDOR 02 / 2019 /DETROIT / ACADEMIC The Alley Corridor is a senior home/ College residence that restores the liveliness of the Bagley community through restoring a cultural experience from the alleyway that passes behind it. By mimicking the future Livernois street plan into the alleyway, this residence becomes recreated into a pedestrian friendly pathway that incorporates historic art on the alley walls, platforms for lively jazz Music, and an overall connection between both sides of the community using a friendly and active senior home as a node for the community. 1

DETROIT RIVERFRONT MASTER PLAN 04 / 2018 / DETROIT /ACADEMIC
This Urban design project focuses on two Urban zones bonded by the Dequindre Cut green way at the East Waterfront. My Objective was to investigate the specific use for the East waterfront and revitalize the area to introduce a higher quality of life. My plan was to respond to the commercial core by East Jefferson Ave by creating office spaces with commercial nodes within them, then step down to the mixed residential units to continue the idea of integrating commercial nodes but with living Spaces. Furthermore, to end off the journey towards the riverfront, my next move was to incorporate single-family housing with the idea of surrounding public and commercial spaces to activate the Community and incorporate the Dequindre cut as a trail to the fresh views of the river. 10

DE-MARKET
05 / 2017 / DETROIT /ACADEMIC This studio project investigated our relationship with food from the perspective of a hybrid program that combines a restaurant and a grocery store. New Development is coming to East Jefferson Avenue-informed by SOM’s Detroit East Riverfront Framework Plan, and a recent boom in residential Multi-family construction East of Downtown. My site location will relate to the dequindre cut to support the Integration of food culture with the use of public space, activity and entertainment.
On the ground level, customers are able to access the fully stocked vegan products. one can also enjoy a healthy beverage or snack in the cafe sections. As customers continue, they can encounter the sampling/ testing sections. To complete the healthy experience at DeMarket, customers can always come back after a healthy grocery journey and experience a relaxing and healthy vegan restaurant. The upper level of DeMarket is a rooftop extension to the restaurant on the lower half. This patio section continues the theme of DeMarket which is to promote a healthy lifestyle/ experience.
