Sullivan+Strumpf magazine profiles the art work of some of the best contemporary artists in Australia, the Asia-Pacific and East Asia working across painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, ceramics, art installation, architecture, digital media and more.
In this issue, we celebrate a milestone — finally achieving 50-50 female to male representation of artists in the gallery. Reflecting this balance, we have a 50-50 mix of artists in this issue with features on painter Michael Zavros, ceramicist Ramesh Mario Nithiyendran, collage artist Jemima Wyman and ceramicist Kirsten Coelho. All are brilliant contemporary artists in their own right irrespective of gender and we can’t wait for their upcoming exhibitions.
We also visit Joanna Lamb at home in Perth, chat to sculptor Tim Silver, visit Irfan Hendrian in his Bandung studio in Indonesia and introduce an exciting new painter to the gallery, Lara Merret.
Enjoy,
Ursula & Joanna.
