It is hard to believe that this is the 10th year of the Virginia Club Calf producers Group; there has been a lot of hard work expended over the past several years to make this weekend one of the preeminent weekends of the year in the cattle industry. We would like to present this set of Elite Breds, Donors, Bulls, Open Heifers, and Genetic lots for your review. Mother Nature did not treat us too well this year on picture day, but we managed to fight through the snow and get the task completed. It is a great time to be in the cattle business; the feeder, fat cattle, cow calf pair, and bred heifer markets have all hit record levels within the past year and the productions sales this fall have been incredible. High quality donor cows such as Lot #1 in this year’s sale have been selling from $20 - $40K in the midwest this fall. As a sale committee, we feel this set of cattle offers something for everyone from donor cows to an elite set of opens to a genetic offering that is outstanding. 2015 Eastern Elite Production Sale Precious was the $13,400, top selling female in the 2004 first annual Teets Farms Mountain Magic Sale. The lot from her dam sold in that sale for $46,500 and 3402 has been a great producer in the donor pen for Cook Cattle since that time. She has worked well with Heat Seeker, Heatwave, Monopoly, Unstoppable; normally averaging approximately 13-15 embryos per flush.
