Welcome to Your Club Connection! I am thrilled to introduce you to our new owner magazine – Club Connection. This quarterly publication will be delivered to your inbox four times a year and will include a mixture of articles, both inspirational and operational. We’ll share important owner news, such as program updates and reminders, as well as feature stories on amazing travel destinations. We hope that the magazine inspires you to make more vacation memories through your Capital Vacations Club membership. 2020 was a challenging year for everyone, but I would like to take a moment to thank our Capital Vacations team members. They have gone above and beyond to safely serve owners and guests at our resorts. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we created and implemented our Travel with Confidence program. These additional health and safety measures were put in place at all Capital Vacations resorts to ensure the health and wellbeing of our owners, guests and team members. Through the tremendous work of our teams, our resorts have remained open and are welcoming travelers as we speak. Fun Fact – You can take a step back in time and experience Marvel Cave just as the early explorers did – through the park’s Lantern Light Tours! Branson is known for being the “greatest family vacation destination in the Midwest” and that’s due to the fact that you can enjoy both the natural beauty of the Ozark Mountains and a bustling town-center filled with attractions and adventures. You can come to play all day, or kick back and relax, or maybe a little of both!
If you’re looking for some excitement, then look no further than Silver Dollar City, an 1880s-themed amusement park that boasts rollercoasters, water rides, shows, great food and lots of events. The theme park is seated atop Marvel Cave, one of Missouri’s deepest caves and an original historic landmarks.
As part of the park’s admission price, visitors can take a tour of the cave riding on a unique cable train to descend nearly 500 feet below the surface. A trained guide will host your tour, providing interesting anecdotes of historical and geographical importance.

FOUR DAYS IN FLORIDA
Known for its landmark destinations such as Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, Central Florida is a must-visit travel destination for all families. In 2019, a record-setting 75 million visitors came to Orlando, ready to take on the amusement parks, world-class entertainment venues, award-winning food scene, shopping and nightlife. And with a 45-minute drive to the closest beach, travelers can pack their vacation agenda with a variety of activities. But if you only had four days in town, how should you spend it? Here are a few ideas!
Day 1: Settle in at Calypso Cay
The first day of vacation is always a bit tiring, so take advantage of the property’s pool after you arrive for some rest and relaxation. While you’re sunbathing, you can order groceries online using a company such as Instacart. A personal shopper will gather and deliver your order while you soak up the sun. The family might be a little excited to get out and about, so that evening take a quick ride over to International Drive – an 11-mile strip of restaurants, shops and attractions. It’s impossible to visit without seeing the world’s tallest swing ride, called the Orlando StarFlyer. This 450-ft. tower is lit by more than 240,000 LED lights and swings riders around and around at speeds up to 60 mph. It’s an attraction that will surely kick off your trip with excitement and stories to share on your social media feed.

Day 2: Pick a Theme Park
It wouldn’t be a trip to Central Florida without a trip to a theme park. The most important question is which one. There are plenty to choose from and it’s best to do a little research into your options before you go. Each park has a little different “feel” – from adrenaline-invoking to relaxing – so it’s a good idea to choose which one matches your family’s style. The Walt Disney World Resort is actually made up of multiple theme parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. These family-friendly parks are a great option for those with little ones. The rides are fun, but only a few will make you scream. Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom is one of the most intense – this roller coaster winds up and down in complete darkness, taking riders to new worlds.
Universal Orlando Resort is made up of three parks: Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay. This is the spot for the true adventure seekers. Looping roller coasters, action-packed 3D rides, and a water park centered around a life-size volcano, these parks are perfect for any teenager or young adult.
SeaWorld Orlando is a great option for even the littlest family members, with close up animal encounters and family-friendly shows that feature beautiful wildlife. For a truly immersive experience, visit SeaWorld’s Discovery Cove, where you can swim with dolphins, snorkel with fish and rays, and feed exotic birds.
For a little less-crowded adventure, take a drive to LEGOLAND Florida. Located about one hour from Kissimmee, this theme park is perfect for any LEGO lovers in your family. Its rides are designed for preschoolers to early teens, but adults and big kids love the life-sized LEGO-made statues and of course, the LEGO Store.

Day 3: Get Your Toes in the Sand
Important Tip – No matter if it’s clear or cloudy, make sure to apply plenty of sunscreen, including on easily-forgetful places such as the feet or back of the ears! The hot Florida sun can penetrate through even the cloudiest of days and burn the skin badly. You don’t want to return home looking like a lobster.
Don’t be surprised if your feet are aching after a long day at one of the theme parks. That’s why we recommend relaxing on day three of your vacation! Grab your flip flops, a few towels and some boogie boards and head out to one of the beaches. The closest is Cocoa Beach, roughly 45-minutes away from Orlando, on the East coast. North of that is the famous Daytona Beach, a travel hot spot of
its own with lots of shops and places to eat. Don’t forget to consider the West coast beaches, such as Clearwater Beach, known for its beautiful white sands and crystal-clear waters. Just don’t expect to catch any waves on the West coast beaches, the Gulf of Mexico creates more of a lake-style wake, perfect for relaxing, not surfing.

Day 4: Do Some Shopping
Before you head back home, be sure to take advantage of the outlet shopping in Central Florida. You can find great deals from some of the world’s most famous brands such has Nike, Nautica, Kate Spade, Disney and many, many more. The Orlando International Premium Outlets is an outdoor mall made for outlet lovers. With more than 180 stores, shoppers can spend an entire day making the rounds. Your best bet is to print out the mall map and directory and plot your journey before making your way into the madness. It’s easy to get overwhelmed if you’re not prepared!
Another great option for shopping lovers in the Mall at Millenia – Orlando’s premier shopping mall packed with luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo, Tory Burch, Chanel, Tiffany’s and more. Even if you’re just window shopping, the Mall at Millenia is a great spot to visit, especially on a rainy day.

Your Maintenance Fees at Work
At Atlantic Terrace, they’re starting construction on a new pool deck gazebo, replacing the original gazebo that was destroyed during a hurricane. The project is estimated to be complete in Spring.
Hollywood Beach Tower renovated their staff offices and replaced 92 TVs in guest bedrooms with smart televisions.
Ocean View at The Island Club is in the process of updating all kitchen appliances and painting the units a beautiful blue. Painting has also begun at Seawatch!

Team Members Giving Back
Team members at Stormy Point Village volunteered with Elevate Branson on January 28, assembling lunches for those less fortunate in the Branson area.
Team members from The Links participated in a run/walk in honor of Sgt. Best who was tragically killed on January 1st. The team wanted to show their support to the community of North Myrtle Beach and to Sgt. Best’s family.
The Sea Scape Beach and Golf Villas in Kitty Hawk, NC held its first ever food drive this past December. Team members and owners donated more than 80 pounds of food (equivalent to 70 meals!) to the Outer Bank Beach Food Pantry.

The number one travel trend is no surprise and that’s a new standard of cleanliness at hotels and resorts. With the ongoing COVID-19 virus at loom, the hospitality industry is fighting back by stepping up their cleaning and safety procedures to keep their guests safe. Capital Vacations is no different – we’ve instituted new cleaning protocols at all of our resorts to make sure our owners and guests are comfortable and safe.
In addition to cleanliness, travelers are looking for accommodations with more space, specifically space to cook. Eating in has become a regular routine for many during the pandemic, and travelers are looking for hotel and resort accommodations that offer kitchens so they can continue this routine while on vacation.
