-Kania Rimu The Young Governors is a youth organization that involves high school students from everywhere to participate in helping their communities. This program is working with the New Fellowship Church. The Young Governors do many things to help their community, and one of the greatest example is their community garden. The Young Governors come together every Saturday, and Sunday to help improve their garden. This garden is a way for them to "give back to the community". Their motto is “Empowering Communities by Empowering Youth! Young Governors are mobilizing their peers and getting more teens involved in their community efforts! On April 27, 2013 I went with my friends to participate in planting trees in this hot weather through key club, I did not expect so many other people participating in helping, especially on a Saturday. I was really glad, because not only was there many teens from many schools, but there were adults, elders, and even little children. Although it was a very hot day everyone was working really hard. When I came in the place looked like a disaster, turns out it used to be a dump. At first, when I started working to remove the weeds from the place is was actually really disgusting. There was so much litter, and garbage everywhere. However, I could see the results of everyone working together in a matter of few hours. Not only was going to this event hard, but it was very fun. I remember when there was a big tree trunk stuck underground, and everyone tried to work together to take it our for almost a hour. It was really funny how we could not get it out no matter what, but when we worked together I see we can make a huge difference. Going to this beautification event was a amazing experience for me.
