1. Election Period - The election period begins with the Candidate Orientation Meeting and ends on February 21, 2023, at 5 p.m. 2. Positive and Fair Campaigning - The following is not allowed: A. Written or verbal campaigning against another candidate. B. Defamatory, Libelous or profane information. 3. Limit on Spending – There is no limit on how much the candidate spends on their campaign. 4. Paid Ads – The only limit on paid advertising is that a candidate cannot take out a paid ad in the Link Magazine or Webpage. 5. Campaigning – Candidates and their supporters may campaign in and around any of the SCSCAI facilities providing it does not interfere with ongoing activities. If an authorized Association employee asks that a campaigner (candidate or supporter) leave the area, the person must do so immediately. In addition, if the campaign activity has caused litter, it must be removed immediately. 6. Common Areas – Candidates are prohibited from leaving or posting campaign materials in SCSCAI Common Areas. This includes SCSCAI signage, bulletin boards, benches and information distribution areas. 7. City of Las Vegas Street Signs, Traffic Signs and Light Posts –Candidates are prohibited posting campaign material on any street signs, traffic signs or light posts. 8. Homeowner Mailboxes – Candidates are prohibited from placing items in or attaching items to Homeowner mailboxes. 9. Campaign T-Shirts, Buttons, Hats, etc. – There are no restrictions. 10. Campaign “Swag” - There are no restrictions. 11. Direct Mailing - Candidates may request a list of the mailing addresses of each home, which will not include the names of the owners or tenants. Paper format is 25 cents per page for the first 10 pages and 10 cents per page thereafter, in the format of a compact disc or thumb drive at a cost of $5 or by electronic mail at no cost. 12. Social Media A. During the “Election Period” the candidate cannot post on any SCSCAI Facebook Page. B. Candidates who have access to Chartered Club mailing lists cannot use their access to the list to campaign. C. Candidates cannot post on any SCSCAI or Chartered Club Social Media Account. 13. Chartered Club Participation, Meetings and Events – Candidates cannot campaign during participation in a Chartered or at Chartered Club meetings or events unless invited to do so by an officer of the Chartered Club.
