We use Quick Dry Foam ® for our outdoor cushions. Unlike normal foam, Quick Dry Foam® is reticulated foam produced by “Hydro-Blast Reticulation” and has large, open pores which permit maximum water drainage and air circulation. CARE & CLEANING Keep your Suniture® pieces in top condition
Besides affordable quality products and the best after-sales service, Suniture ® has the best limited warranty cover in the outdoor furniture industry. For every Suniture ® product, there are two warranties, one for the Sunbrella ® fabric and one for the product itself. For warranty service, please check the date of purchase. Sunbrella ® awning and marine canvas is engineered for shade structures and features a very stiff, tight construction and a heavier finish, while the furniture fabrics are engineered for the softness, comfort and flexibility desired in seating and other furniture applications. As such, each has a different limited warranty period. Sunbrella ® fabrics for awning and marine applications have a 10 year limited warranty and for furniture fabrics a 5 year limited warranty. This warranty protects against Sunbrella ® fabric becoming unserviceable due to color or strength loss from normal usage and exposure conditions, including sunlight, mildew and atmospheric chemicals. This warranty does not cover normal care and cleaning; damage from misuse or abuse; improper installation; or costs associated with replacement of the fabric, including labor and installation. Suniture ® will provide replacement fabric at no cost during years one through eight; during the ninth year at the then-current selling price less a 30% discount; and less a 15% discount during the tenth year. Following the prescribe maintenance and handling procedure, Suniture ® offers a one-year guarantee against defects from its specifications and manufacture for its umbrella frames, 3 years for its Viro ® wicker and outdoor sofas, and one-year for its teak furniture. This warranty does not cover normal care and cleaning; damage from misuse or abuse; improper installation; or costs associated with replacement of the fabric and parts due to damage outside the warranty coverage. Suniture ® reserves the right to inspect the product and the Sunbrella® fabric submitted for claim. Proof of purchase may be required. Materials, labor and installation for replacements outside the warranty will be charged to the client. Is dry cleaning safe for Sunbrella® fabric covers?
A
Never dry clean Sunbrella® fabrics! Just follow the simple cleaning instructions here. Should you require professional cleaners, please contact the nearest Suniture® office for assistance. Our experience in working with Sunbrella® fabrics and knowledge of cleaning and re-treatment requirements guarantee you will have good looking fabrics for a long time.

How do I clean my umbrella and cushion covers?
A
For general or light cleaning, first brush off any loose dirt. Prepare a cleaning solution of 60ml mild soap per 3.8 litres of lukewarm water (less than 38°C). Use a sponge or a soft bristle brush to clean. Allow the cleaning solution to soak into the fabric. Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue. Finally, allow fabric to air dry. For removable Sunbrella ® fabric umbrella and cushion covers, machine wash in cool water (less than 38°C). Depending on wash load size, use normal amounts of mild laundry soap. Allow fabric to air dry.

What about for spot cleaning?
A
Apply a light mist of our recommended cleaning solution using a spray bottle. Work the solution into the stain by lightly scrubbing the area with a sponge or very soft bristle brush. Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue. Blot excess moisture with a clean soft towel or sponge. Wet-vacuum or blot excess water. Repeat these steps until stain is removed.

How do you remove mildew?
A
Sunbrella® fabric does not promote mildew growth, however, mildew may grow on dirt and other foreign substances that are not removed from the fabric. To clean mildew, or other stubborn stains, prepare a solution of 235 ml (1 cup) of bleach and 60 ml (1/4 cup) of mild soap per gallon of clean water. Spray on the entire area and allow to soak into the fabric. Scrub vigorously with a soft bristle brush, sponge, or clean towel. Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue. Then, allow fabric to air dry. If stain and/or mildew are severe, bleach quantities may be increased. When using a washing machine, use cold water (less than 38°C) and depending on wash load size, use normal amounts of mild laundry soap and add 1 cup of bleach. Alternatively, you may ask our office for assistance. Maintenance and cleaning charges may apply.

How is the water repellency of the fabrics maintained?
A
Sunbrella® fabrics have a special finish that enhances water repellency which is designed to last for several years of normal use. After a thorough cleaning or extended use, it is highly recommended that they be retreated with 303 High Tech Fabric Guard™.
Q
How is 303 High Tech Fabric Guard™ used?
A
303 should be applied to Sunbrella fabrics after each thorough cleaning, which typically removes the original finish and reduces the fabric’s water repellency. When the fabric has dried completely, apply 303 Fabric Guard™ in a well-ventilated area following the instructions on the container. Apply it in a thin, even coat and allow fabric to dry completely. Apply a second thin, even coating of 303. (Two light coatings are more effective in restoring fabric water resistance than a single heavy coating. A 450ml bottle provides coverage of up to 465 sq. cms .)

Can covers be ironed?
A
After some time and the fabric has developed developed a few wrinkles, use an iron, if necessary, but only on the synthetic setting (normally do not exceed 66 degrees C). Never use a steamer or an iron set to steam setting. Remember to retreat with 303 High Tech Fabric Guard™ after ironing.

Can Viro® wicker furniture be left outside all year round?
A
Definitely! Suniture wicker furniture incorporates a powder coated aluminum frame and handwoven Viro fiber. You will be happy to know that there is no other furniture out there with a material like Viro® that can withstand almost anything the elements can throw at it, such as high temperatures, weather changes, UV light, chlorine, and salt water.

Will the color of the wicker furniture fade in the sun?
A
No, every Suniture® wicker furniture is UV resistant and will not fade or crack even under the hottest summers

Does wicker furniture need special cleaning and maintenance?
A
No special maintenance is required. Cleaning with a wild detergent and a damp cloth is all that is needed to keep your furniture looking as good as new year after year. You can also wash it with soapy water then hose it down. For extreme climates, we recommend 303 Patio Furniture Protector™ for optimal protection.

Why has the furniture developed cracks?
A
Teak is a natural product, and because of this, fluctuations of temperature and humidity may cause surface cracking, in particular, the end grains. This is normal and will not affect the durability and strength of the wood.
Q
The furniture has turned silver – grey. How do you restore to the original color?
A
First, wash the furniture with warm soapy water and a household scrubbing brush to remove all dirt. When the furniture is dry, sand, remove dust, then apply a good teak protector. We recommend 303 Patio Furniture Protector™.

What about grease spots that have appeared on the furniture?
A
This is a natural feature of the wood and grease spots should gradually disappear after being exposed to sunlight. However, should you wish to banish these blemishes immediately, we recommend using a degreasing agent then scrubbing it with a gentle brush. Rinse off with clean water. Persistent grease spots can be removed by using white spirit.

Why has the furniture developed mildew spots or black blemishes?
A
This is usually the result of rainwater or sometimes sap dripping from the leaves of trees onto the wood leaving dark marks and spots. Ideally, we recommend the furniture is not placed under trees. However these marks can be removed by slightly sanding with fine sandpaper.

What about candle wax drippings?
A
Candle wax can be removed by placing brown paper over the wax mark and pressing with a warm iron. This melts the wax, drawing it out of the wood and onto the paper. For wine stains, we recommend using methylated spirit to wipe the area clean.

Why is the wood color different compared to the same item seen in the showroom?
A
This is due to the finished item being packed and stored until the delivery to the customer. Once the items are placed outside in daylight, the wood will return to its natural color.
Aluminum Q
Is aluminum furniture difficult to maintain?
A
Not at all. Aluminum furniture is close to being maintenance-free but you should clean your powder coated aluminum furniture at least once every season. Usually a quick hose off or rub down with a damp cloth is all that is necessary. Occasionally, if becoming overly dirty, wiping down using a mild detergent with a soft sponge or cloth and rinsing with water will do the trick. If your finish does ever become severely scratched or nicked (which is highly unlikely due to the durable powder coating), it is important to prepare and cover the blemish with touch up paint. Be sure to use the correct paint formula. Never use ammonia or baking soda to clean powder coated aluminum furniture.
