Waihī Beach information session

Western Bay of Plenty District Council is hosting a community information session to answer questions on Waihī Beach’s stormwater system and plans to protect Two Mile Creek from further erosion.

In the aftermath of the recent oods, the council invites everyone to come and kōrero with their team about stormwater system in Waihī Beach this Monday, June 19, from 3pm-6pm at the Waihī Beach Community Centre.

WBOPDC deputy CEO and general manager infrastructure group Gary Allis says it’s natural for people to have questions following the May 29 ash ooding. “ is event will take a lot of time to recover from, but now the immediate danger has passed, we’d like to use this opportunity to address people’s concerns and talk about the causes of ooding and the e ects it has on your community.” e council will also show its plans to protect Two Mile Creek from further erosion.
