Movement-Based Acting
The theatre comes alive with the fun, classic Broadway musical, Music Man Kids! This process-oriented class is the perfect forum to learn basic musical theater skills in acting, voice, and dance while focusing on stage confidence and teamwork. Rehearsals take place once a week and students are expected to practice their songs and lines at home as well as in class. This exciting tale will come to life on stage with technical rehearsal and performances happening between May 21-25.
Acting uses your whole body! This process-oriented class employs Anna Halprin’s Tamalpa Life-Art technique, similar to method acting, to help young actors discover and convey a character’s emotions. Class begins with a ballet-based warm up and meditative centering, incorporating modern dance, acting exercises, drawing, word play and other creative activities. Class is suitable for those with little or no performing experience. Wear comfortable clothes, easily removable shoes and tie long hair back. 10
