Parking Options When Renting Sunset Plaza Apartments Jackson
One of the hardest aspects of living in an apartment complex is the parking situation. Depending on where your complex is located, your options might be very limited. If you live in a large complex away from busier areas, chances are that you have a large lot at your disposal and may even have one or two dedicated parking spots for you and your family. If your complex is instead located in a busier area, such as in the middle of a city, your lot may be smaller or even worse, you don’t have a parking lot at all! Here are a few of the common parking options associated with living in an apartment.
PARKING LOT Depending on the area and size of your apartment building or complex, you may be lucky to have a dedicated parking lot, and even dedicated spaces! Dedicated spaces are less common though, with most lots going by a first-come, first-serve method. This can be troublesome if there are more cars than there are spots, which is also a common factor to take into consideration. If your lot is like this, you want to make sure you follow proper parking etiquette so you don’t cause a problem. Of course, you can’t account for what other people in the lot will do, which can also cause problems.
STREET PARKING If your complex doesn’t have a lot you’ll likely have to park on the street. Depending on your area, this can either be painless or extremely frustrating. Street parking in residential areas fluctuates throughout the day, usually being quite crowded early in the morning, becoming emptier throughout the day and then filling up rather quickly come 5 PM when most jobs let out. It’s every car for itself in situations like this. You’ll also want to think about what parking laws are like in your neighborhood. Cities often have street cleaning days where parking is prohibited during certain hours of the day, and some streets have parking meters that are in effect during the day and are shut off after a certain point of the evening.
GARAGE PARKING If your complex doesn’t have its own lot and street parking is frustrating, your next best option may be to look into a parking garage. This option typically isn’t ideal for a number of reasons. For one, you probably have to pay for a parking garage, and prices will vary depending on location. You probably don’t want to be spending all of your money on parking, even if it is more convenient than parking on the street. Another thing to take into consideration with garage parking is the location of the garage in relation to your apartment. You’ll want to make sure the garage is in a safe area, especially if you’ll be walking home from the garage late at night. You’ll also want to make sure that it’s not located too far away, otherwise, you’ll likely be better off parking on the street.
