Experience It
Experience It All to Support The Center’s Arts and Education Programs
If you’ve never experienced The Center’s Wine Auction before, this is the year. There is no better way to show your support for The Center . . . while also partaking in one of the Valley’s most acclaimed summertime events. And if you have been a regular over the years, we have some great additions to the events to amp up the fun factor! The best part of the Wine Auction? Knowing you help the entire community have access to a wide range of arts and cultural experiences. The proceeds from this weekend enable The Center to . . . • Offer lectures, in-school concerts, exhibitions and classes for free, or at a very low cost, so all can participate. • Fund the growing collaboration The Center has with the area’s schools. • Provide 30+ students and teachers with scholarships to pursue further arts education. • Serve over 27,000+ people per year. So don’t miss the experience—there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Dinner with the Vintners Thursday, July 19 For those who appreciate the very best, it’s hard to top a Vintner Dinner. Held in magnificent private homes, these intimate gatherings feature some of the country’s best chefs rising to the challenge of creating a multicourse meal worthy of the exceptional wines that our generous vintners have chosen to share with a select handful of guests. But don’t feel guilty about indulging yourself— because of your support at the Wine Auction, the Sun Valley Center for the Arts is able to offer world-class arts and humanities programming to our entire community!
Junior Patrons Circle Wine & Tapas Tasting Thursday, July 19 The Sun Valley Center Junior Patrons Circle invites you to be part of an inaugural twist on the traditional Vintner Dinner. This event will keep you mingling and mixing with other young Center supporters as you sample fabulous wines paired with delectable tapas at Ketchum’s hottest new restaurant, boca. Gather on the deck with hosts Tim & Robin Wolff, Katherine & Buffalo Rixon and Laura & Hunter Vogel and enjoy wines from Oregon based Sokol Blosser Winery and Trefethen Family Vineyards out of Napa. Lee Medina from Sokol Blosser and third-generation vintners Loren & Hailey Trefethen love to share their wines with aficionados, and this is your opportunity to taste some of their best bottlings. After dessert—and more wine pairings—expect the music and revelry to continue late into the night!
Wine Auction Gala Friday, July 20 World-class wines, lively entertainment, great food and the heart-pounding excitement of a live auction—yes, it’s time once again for the Sun Valley Center Wine Auction! Cocktail hour kicks off what promises to be a great evening with surprise elements you won’t want to miss. Then take your seats at the main event where you will enjoy a sumptuous dinner and more superb wines as you compete with other enthusiastic guests for one-of-a-kind auction lots featuring unique travel, adventure and exclusive food and wine experiences with our vintner friends. Finish the evening celebrating on the dance floor, with not-to-be-believed entertainment you’ll find impossible to resist. Reserve your place now and be a part of the magic.
Wine & Chocolate Tasting Friday, July 20 Few more exquisite combinations exist than wine and chocolate— a truth we belatedly acknowledge with our very first Wine & Chocolate Tasting. Featuring Bissinger’s Handcrafted Chocolates and wine from the seven Washington wineries that traditionally participate in the annual Atkinsons’ Market auction lot, it’s a match made in heaven. David Owens, Chief Chocolatier at Bissinger’s, will select the chocolate and wine pairings and explain what makes the combinations work, while Scott and Anne Mason, chefs and owners of Ketchum Grill, will prepare small savory tasting plates to complement each chocolate and wine pairing. You’ll never want to skip class again! Thank you to Sharon Pyle of Atkinsons’ Market, Bissinger’s Handcrafted Chocolates, Scott & Anne Mason of Ketchum Grill and the participating wineries for their support of this event.
Wine Tasting Extravaganza Saturday, July 21 Increase your knowledge of wine and discover new favorites as you mix and mingle with fellow wine lovers. Our wonderful guest vintners and winemakers will be pouring some of their finest releases—both classic vintages and recent bottlings— and they’re happy to answer any questions you have. Whether you’re a novice or expert, whether you prefer Pinots or Cabs or you’re not sure yet, you’re guaranteed to have fun and learn something new. Plus, you’ll take home a complimentary Riedel glass. Friendly reminder: For this year’s Tasting you will need to ride a bike or take the free shuttle. No parking will be allowed at the Tasting site.
Wine Picnic & Concert Saturday, July 21 Strike up the band, uncork the wine and let the good times continue at the Valley's favorite summer event, the Wine Picnic & Concert. The spirited and colorfully costumed MarchFourth Marching Band will set a lively mood for this outdoor gourmet buffet with food from favorite local restaurants and wines from top producers. Held at beautiful Warm Springs Ranch, this event is the perfect way to cap off the Wine Auction weekend and support the Sun Valley Center for the Arts. No parking will be allowed at the Picnic site unless you have purchased a Picnic Parking Pass.
